Thánh Thi 9
1 (Thơ của Đa-vít, soạn cho nhạc trưởng, theo điệu Mút-la-ben) Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, con sẽ hết lòng tôn vinh Chúa và kể ra các việc huyền diệu của Ngài.
Yahweh, I will praise you with all of my inner being. I will tell [others] about all the wonderful things that you have done.
2 Trong Chúa, con rạng rỡ vui mừng. Ca ngợi chúc tôn Thánh Danh, lạy Đấng Chí Cao.
I will sing to celebrate what you [MTY], who are much greater than all other gods, [have done].
3 Khi kẻ thù con quay lại trước mặt Ngài, chúng vấp ngã và bị diệt vong.
When my enemies realize [that you are very powerful], they stumble, and then they are killed.
4 Vì Chúa đã bênh vực quyền lợi chính đáng của con; từ trên ngai Chúa phán xét công bình.
You sat on your throne to judge people, and you have judged fairly/justly concerning me.
5 Chúa khiển trách các dân tộc và hủy diệt người ác; tên tuổi chúng vĩnh viễn bị xóa bôi.
You rebuked the [people of other] nations and you have gotten rid of the wicked people; you have erased their names forever.
6 Kẻ thù con mãi mãi điêu linh; thị thành hoang phế, ký ức về chúng cũng phôi pha.
Our enemies have disappeared; you destroyed their cities, and people do not even remember them any more.
7 Nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu cai trị muôn đời, Ngài đã lập ngôi để ngồi phán xét,
But Yahweh rules forever. He judges [people while he sits] on his throne to judge people,
8 Chúa phân xử cả thế gian cách công minh, và quản trị các dân tộc cách ngay thẳng.
and he will judge [all the people in] [SYN] the world justly; he will judge the people [of all nations] fairly [DOU].
9 Chúa Hằng Hữu là nơi nương cho người bị áp bức, là nơi ẩn náu lúc gian nan.
Yahweh will be a refuge for those who are oppressed; [yes, he will be like] a shelter for them when they have trouble.
10 Ai biết Danh Chúa sẽ tin cậy Ngài, vì Ngài, Chúa Hằng Hữu, không từ bỏ một ai tìm kiếm Chúa.
Those who know Yahweh [MTY] trust in him; he never abandons those who come to him ([for help/to worship him]).
11 Hãy ca ngợi Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đấng trị vì tại Si-ôn. Truyền ra công việc Ngài khắp các dân.
Yahweh rules from Zion [Hill]; praise him while you sing to him. Tell [the people of all] the nations the [marvelous] things that he has done.
12 Vì Đấng báo thù huyết chăm sóc người đau thương. Chúa không quên tiếng kêu của người cùng khốn.
He does not forget [to punish] those who have murdered others; and he will not ignore people who are crying because they are suffering.
13 Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, xin thương xót con. Xin hãy xem con bị kẻ thù hành hạ. Và kéo con khỏi các cửa tử vong.
Yahweh, be merciful to me! Look at the ways that my enemies have injured me. Do not allow me to die [because of these injuries].
14 Để tại các cổng thành của dân Chúa, con ca ngợi Chúa và rao mừng ân cứu chuộc.
I want to live in order that I can praise you at the gates of Jerusalem [MTY] and to rejoice because you rescued me.
15 Các dân rơi ngay vào hầm hố họ đã đào. Chân họ sa vào lưới họ đã giăng.
[It is as though] the [wicked people of many] nations have dug a pit for me to fall into [MET], but they have fallen into that same pit. [It is as if] they spread out a net to catch me [MET], but their feet have been caught in that same net.
16 Công lý Chúa làm Danh Ngài sáng tỏ. Ác nhân sa vào cạm bẫy tay họ gài.
Because of what you have done, people know that you decide matters [fairly/justly], but [you allow] wicked people to be trapped by the same evil things that they themselves do.
Wicked people will all [die and] be buried in their graves, and [their spirits] will go to be with all those who have (forgotten about/rejected) you. (Sheol h7585)
18 Nhưng người khốn khó sẽ chẳng mãi bị bỏ quên; người nghèo cũng không tiêu tan hy vọng.
But you will not forget those who are needy/poor; what they confidently expect will certainly happen.
19 Xin trỗi dậy, lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu! Xin đừng để con người thắng thế! Trước Thiên nhan, xin phán xét các dân!
Yahweh, arise and judge the [wicked] people of the nations; do not allow them to think that [because they are strong] they will never be punished.
20 Xin khiến họ khiếp sợ, ôi Chúa Hằng Hữu. Xin cho họ biết rằng họ chỉ là người phàm.
Yahweh, teach them to be terrified about you. Cause them to know that they are merely human beings.
