Thánh Thi 83
1 (Thơ của A-sáp) Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, xin đừng nín lặng! Xin đừng điềm nhiên! Xin đừng bất động, ôi Đức Chúa Trời.
“A song or psalm of Assaph.” O God, take no rest for thyself: be not silent and keep not still, O God!
2 Chẳng lẽ Ngài không nghe tiếng quân thù nổi loạn? Lẽ nào Ngài không thấy những dân ghét Chúa đang vùng lên sao?
For, lo, thy enemies make a tumult, and they that hate thee have lifted up their head.
3 Họ âm mưu lập kế diệt dân Ngài; họ đặt chương trình chống người được Ngài bảo vệ.
Against thy people they take crafty secret device, and they consult against those whom thou protectest.
4 Họ nói: “Hãy đến tiêu diệt nước này, để tên Ít-ra-ên không còn ai nhớ đến nữa.”
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; and the name of Israel shall be remembered no more.
5 Họ đồng thanh chấp thuận kế hoạch. Kết liên minh quân sự chống Ngài—
For they have consulted cordially together; against thee they make a covenant:
6 dân tộc Ê-đôm và các sắc dân Ích-ma-ên; dân tộc Mô-áp và dân tộc Ha-ga-rít;
The tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites: Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 người Ghê-banh, Am-môn, và A-ma-léc; những người từ Phi-li-tin và Ty-rơ.
Gebal, and 'Ammon, and 'Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 A-sy-ri cũng gia nhập liên minh, để trợ lực con cháu của Lót.
Also Asshur is joined with them; they have become an arm unto the children of Lot. (Selah)
9 Xin Chúa phạt họ như dân tộc Ma-đi-an, Si-sê-ra, và Gia-bin bên Sông Ki-sôn.
Do unto them as [unto] Midian; as to Sissera, as to Jabin, at the brook Kishon:
10 Là đoàn quân bị tiêu diệt tại Ên-đô-rơ, và trở thành như phân trên đất.
Who were annihilated at 'En-dor; they became as dung for the ground.
11 Xin đối xử với các quý tộc của họ như Ô-rép và Xê-ép. Xin cho vua quan họ chết như Xê-ba và Xanh-mu-na,
Render them, their nobles, like 'Oreb, and like Zeeb; yea, like Zebach and like Zalmunna' all their princes;
12 vì họ nói: “Chúng ta hãy chiếm đất cỏ xanh của Đức Chúa Trời làm tài sản của chúng ta.”
Who said, Let us conquer for ourselves the dwellings of God,
13 Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, xin làm họ như cỏ rác, như trấu bị gió cuốn tung bay!
O my God, render them like the thistle-down, like stubble before the wind.
14 Như lửa đốt trụi rừng và đốt cháy núi thể nào,
As the fire burneth up a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire:
15 thì xin phóng bão tố đánh đuổi họ, cho giông tố làm họ kinh hoàng thể ấy.
So pursue them with thy storm, and with thy whirlwind do thou terrify them.
16 Xin Chúa cho mặt họ bị sỉ nhục, cho đến khi họ biết tìm đến Danh Chúa.
Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Lord!
17 Nguyện họ bị hổ thẹn và kinh hoàng mãi mãi. Xin cho họ chết giữa cảnh nhục nhằn.
Let them be made ashamed and terrified for ever and aye; yea, let them be put to the blush and perish:
18 Xin cho họ học biết chỉ có Ngài là Chúa Hằng Hữu, chỉ có Ngài là Đấng Tối Cao, cai trị trên khắp đất.
That they may know that thou, whose name is the Eternal, art by thyself alone, the Most High over all the earth.
