Thánh Thi 81
1 (Thơ của A-sáp, soạn cho nhạc trưởng, theo điệu Ghít-tít) Hãy ca tụng Đức Chúa Trời, sức mạnh của chúng ta. Hãy lớn tiếng ngợi tôn Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp.
Sing [songs] to praise God, who enables us to be strong [when we fight our enemies]; shout joyfully to God, whom we (descendants of Jacob/Israeli people) [worship]!
2 Hãy hát! Hãy đánh trống cơm. Hãy gãy đàn lia và đàn hạc.
Start [playing] the music, and beat the tambourines, and play nice music on the harps and (lyres/other stringed instruments).
3 Hãy thổi kèn trong ngày trăng mới, lúc trăng rầm, và các ngày lễ hội.
Blow the trumpets [during the festival to celebrate] each new moon and each time the moon is full and during our [other] festivals.
4 Đây là một định lễ cho Ít-ra-ên; là lệnh truyền từ Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp.
[Do that] because that is a law for [us] Israeli [people]; God commanded it for us descendants of Jacob.
5 Một luật pháp Ngài lập với Giô-sép, khi Chúa ra tay chống Ai Cập, giải cứu chúng ta. Tôi nghe một thứ tiếng tôi không biết:
He commanded us Israeli [people to obey it] when he punished [the people of] Egypt. I heard someone [MTY] whose voice I did not recognize, saying,
6 “Ta đã cất gánh nặng khỏi vai các con; Bàn tay các con khỏi mang xách nặng nề.
“[After the rulers of Egypt forced you Israelis to work as slaves], I took those [heavy] burdens off your backs, and I enabled you to lay down those [heavy] baskets [of bricks that you were carrying].
7 Trong gian truân các con kêu cầu, Ta đã giải cứu; Ta đáp lời từ trong mây vang tiếng sấm và Ta thử các con tại suối Mê-ri-ba.
When you were [greatly] distressed, you called [out to me], and I rescued you; I answered you out of a thundercloud. [Later] I tested [whether you would trust me to give you] water [when you were in the desert] at Meribah.
8 Hỡi dân Ta, hãy lắng tai nghe lời cảnh cáo. Hỡi Ít-ra-ên, nếu các con chỉ nghe lời Ta!
[You who are] my people, listen while I warn you! I wish that you Israeli [people] would pay attention to what I [say to you]!
9 Giữa xứ các con, đừng có tà thần; đừng quỳ lạy các thần ngoại giáo.
You must not have any idols of other gods among you; you must never bow to worship any of them!
10 Vì Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của các con, Đấng đã đem các con ra khỏi Ai Cập. Hãy hả miệng, Ta sẽ cho no đầy.
I am Yahweh, your God; It was [not any of those other gods] who brought you out of Egypt, I am the one who did it! [So] ask me what you want me to do for you [MTY], and I will do it.
11 Nhưng không, dân Ta không chịu nghe. Ít-ra-ên chẳng thuận phục lời Ta.
But my people would not listen to me [SYN]; they would not obey me.
12 Vì vậy Ta bỏ mặc họ theo lòng chai lì, theo mưu ý riêng của mình.
So even though they were very stubborn, I allowed them to do whatever they wanted to do.
13 Ôi, ước gì dân Ta nghe tiếng Ta! Và Ít-ra-ên đi theo đường lối Ta!
I wish that my people would listen to me, that the Israeli [people] would behave as I want them to do.
14 Ta sẽ nhanh chóng đánh bại quân thù họ! Và Ta sẽ trở tay nghịch cùng kẻ địch!
[If they did that], I would quickly defeat their enemies; I would strike/punish [all of] them [DOU].
15 Những người ghét Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ thuận phục Ngài; họ sẽ được hưởng thời thịnh trị lâu dài.
[Then all] those who hate me would (cringe before/bow down to) me, and [then I] would punish them [MTY] forever.
16 Ta sẽ nuôi các con bằng lúa thượng hạng. Và Ta sẽ cho các con no nê mật ong từ vầng đá.”
[But] I would give you [Israelis] very good wheat/grain, and I would fill your stomachs with wild honey.”
