1 (Thơ của A-sáp, soạn cho nhạc trưởng, dùng đàn hạc) Trong Giu-đa người dân biết Đức Chúa Trời; Danh Ngài được Ít-ra-ên tôn quý.
People in Judah know God; the Israeli people honor him [MTY].
2 Sa-lem là nơi Chúa ngự; Núi Si-ôn là nhà Ngài.
His home is in Jerusalem; he lives on Zion [Hill].
3 Tại đó, Chúa bẻ gãy mũi tên quân thù, phá khiên, bẻ gươm, tiêu diệt khí giới.
There he broke the flaming arrows [that his enemies shot], [and he also broke] their shields and swords and other weapons that they used in battles.
4 Chúa rực rỡ vinh quang và oai nghi hơn các núi đầy của cướp.
God, you are glorious! You are like a king [as you return from] the mountains [where you defeated your enemies].
5 Người dũng mãnh nhất cũng tàn sát. Họ nằm la liệt trong giấc ngủ nghìn thu. Không một người lính nâng nổi cánh tay.
Their brave soldiers [were killed, and then those who killed them] took away everything that those soldiers had. Those enemies died [EUP], [so] they were unable to use their weapons [any more]!
6 Lạy Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp, khi Ngài quở trách ngựa và chiến xa đều bất động.
When you, the God whom Jacob [worshiped], rebuked [your enemies], [the result was that their] horses and their riders fell down dead.
7 Chỉ mình Chúa thật đáng kính sợ! Ai có thể đứng nổi trước mặt Chúa khi Ngài thịnh nộ?
But you cause everyone to be afraid. When you are angry [and you punish people], no one can [RHQ] endure it.
8 Từ tầng trời xanh thẳm Chúa tuyên án; khắp đất đều kinh khiếp, lặng yên như tờ.
From heaven you proclaimed that you would judge people, [and then everyone on] the earth was afraid and did not say [anything more],
9 Ngài đứng dậy phán xét ác nhân, ôi Đức Chúa Trời, và giải cứu những người bị đàn áp trên đất.
when you arose to declare that you would punish [wicked people] and rescue all those whom they had oppressed.
10 Cơn giận của loài người chỉ thêm chúc tụng Chúa, còn cơn giận dư lại Ngài sẽ ngăn cản.
When [you punish those] with whom you are angry, your people will praise you, and [your enemies] who (survive/are not killed) will worship you on your festival days.
11 Hãy hứa nguyện và giữ lời với Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời ngươi. Hỡi các dân tộc, hãy mang lễ vật dâng lên Đấng đáng kính sợ.
[So] give to Yahweh the offerings that you promised to give to him; all the people of nearby people-groups should also bring gifts to him, the one who is awesome.
12 Vì Ngài phá vỡ khí thế của các bậc cầm quyền, và các vua khắp đất phải kính sợ Ngài.
He humbles [IDM] princes, and [even] causes [great] kings to be terrified.
