Thánh Thi 53

1 (Giáo huấn ca của Đa-vít, soạn cho nhạc trưởng, theo điệu Ma-ha-la) Người ngu dại thầm nhủ: “Không làm gì có Đức Chúa Trời.” Chúng đều hư hỏng và hành động gian ác, chẳng một ai làm điều thiện lành!

[Only] foolish people say to themselves, “There is no God!” People who say that are corrupt; they commit terrible sins; there is not one of them who does what is good/right.

2 Đức Chúa Trời từ trời cao, nhìn xuống loài người; Ngài xem có ai khôn ngoan, hướng lòng tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời.

God looks down from heaven and sees humans; he looks to see if anyone is [very] wise, with the result that he seeks [to know] God.

3 Nhưng tất cả đều từ chối Chúa; cùng nhau trở nên hư hỏng. Chẳng ai làm điều thiện lành, dù một người cũng không!

[But] they are all morally corrupt; no one does what is good/right.

4 Người gian ác không bao giờ học hỏi sao? Chúng vồ xé dân Ta như ăn bánh, và chẳng kêu cầu Đức Chúa Trời bao giờ.

Will all these evil people never learn [what God will do to them]? They act violently toward Yahweh’s people while eating the food that he provides, and they never pray to Yahweh.

5 Chúng sẽ chìm trong khiếp sợ, kinh hoàng, nơi chẳng có gì phải sợ. Đức Chúa Trời sẽ rãi rắc xương cốt của những người hại con. Con làm chúng hổ nhục, vì Đức Chúa Trời khinh bỏ chúng.

But [some day] those people will become terrified, like they have never been terrified before, because God will cause those who are separated from him to die, and he will [disrespect them by] scattering their bones. They have rejected God, so he will cause them to be [defeated and] completely disgraced.

6 Ai sẽ giải cứu cho Ít-ra-ên từ Núi Si-ôn? Khi Đức Chúa Trời khôi phục dân Ngài, Gia-cốp sẽ reo vui, và Ít-ra-ên sẽ mừng rỡ.

I wish/desire that someone from Jerusalem [MTY] would come and rescue the Israeli [people]! God, when you bless your people again, [all] the Israeli [people, all the descendants of] Jacob, will rejoice.
