Thánh Thi 18
1 (Thơ của Đa-vít, đầy tớ Chúa viết khi được cứu khỏi tay kẻ thù và tay Sau-lơ, soạn cho nhạc trưởng) Chúa Hằng Hữu là nguồn năng lực, con kính yêu Ngài.
“To the chief musician, by the servant of the Lord, by David, who spoke unto the Lord the words of this song on the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the power of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; And he said,” I ever love thee, O Lord, my strength.
2 Chúa Hằng Hữu là vầng đá và đồn lũy tôi, Đấng giải cứu tôi; Chúa Hằng Hữu là vầng đá tôi, nơi tôi được bảo vệ. Ngài là tấm khiên, là nguồn cứu rỗi của con và nơi con được che chở.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 Con kêu cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đấng đáng ca ngợi, và được Ngài giải cứu khỏi quân thù.
Praised, I cried, be the Lord, and from my enemies was I saved.
4 Dây tử vong đã quấn lấy con; những dòng thác hủy diệt tràn ngập con,
The bonds of death encompassed me, and the floods of destruction made me afraid.
The bonds of hell encircled me: the snares of death seized on me. (Sheol h7585)
6 Trong lúc hiểm nguy, con kêu cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu; khóc xin Đức Chúa Trời cứu con. Từ đền thánh Ngài nghe tiếng con; tiếng con kêu đã thấu đến tai Ngài.
[When] in my distress I called upon the Lord, and unto my God I cried: he heard from his temple my voice, and my complaint came before him, even into his ears.
7 Bỗng nhiên đất động và rung chuyển. Nền các núi cũng rúng động; vì Chúa nổi giận.
Then shook and trembled the earth; and the foundations of the mountains were moved; and they were shaken, because he was wroth.
8 Từ mũi Chúa, khói bay; miệng Ngài phun ngọn lửa. Làm than cháy đỏ hực.
Smoke went up in his anger and consuming fire out of his mouth: coals flamed forth from him.
9 Chúa rẽ trời ngự giá; mây đen kịt phủ chân Ngài.
And he bent the heavens, and came down: and thick darkness was under his feet:
10 Ngài cỡi chê-ru-bim và bay, Ngài bay lượn trên cánh gió.
And he rode upon a cherub, and flew along, and he flitted by upon the wings of the wind.
11 Ngài lấy bóng tối làm màn bao quanh, trướng phủ Ngài là những đám mây đen chứa nước mưa trên trời.
He made darkness his hiding-place, round about him as his pavilion, dark waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12 Bỗng nhiên, mặt Chúa chiếu hào quang rực rỡ xuyên qua mây như tên lửa sáng ngời.
From the brightness before him his thick clouds passed away, [with] hail-stones and coals of fire.
13 Chúa Hằng Hữu cho sấm sét rền trời; tiếng của Đấng Chí Cao vang dội tạo mưa đá, lửa hừng, gió thổi.
And the Lord thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered forth his voice, [with] hail-stones and coals of fire.
14 Chúa bắn tên, quân thù tán loạn; hàng ngũ vỡ tan vì chớp nhoáng.
And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot forth lightnings, and discomfited them.
15 Đáy biển lộ ra, các nền của trái đất trần trụi, vì lời Chúa Hằng Hữu quở mắng và hơi thở từ mũi Ngài toát ra.
And then were seen the channels of the waters, and there were laid open the foundations of the world, through thy rebuke, O Lord, through the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
16 Chúa xuống từ trời cao; kéo con khỏi nước sâu.
He stretched out from above [his hand], he took me; he drew me out from mighty waters.
17 Giải thoát con khỏi kẻ thù cường bạo, kẻ ghét con mạnh sức hơn con.
He delivered me from my enemy, the strong, and from those that hated me, when they were too mighty for me.
18 Chúng tấn công con trong ngày gian truân, nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu đã đưa tay phù hộ.
They overcame me on the day of my calamity; but the Lord became my stay.
19 Chúa đem con vào chỗ khoảng khoát; giải cứu con vì Ngài ưa thích con.
And he brought me forth into a large space; he delivered me, because he had delight in me.
20 Chúa Hằng Hữu đối đãi với con theo đức công chính, thưởng cho con vì tay con trong sạch.
The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the purity of my hands did he recompense me.
21 Con tuân hành hết cả điều răn, không dám phạm tội, từ bỏ Đức Chúa Trời.
For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 Luật lệ Chúa hằng ở trước mặt con, mệnh lệnh Ngài con không sơ suất.
For all his ordinances were before me, and his statutes had I not put away from me.
23 Trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời, con chẳng gì đáng trách; con đã giữ con khỏi tội lỗi trong đời.
I was also upright with him, and I guarded myself against my iniquity.
24 Chúa Hằng Hữu đối đãi với con theo đức công chính, thưởng cho con vì tay con trong sạch.
Therefore did the Lord recompense me according to my righteousness, according to the purity of my hands before his eyes.
25 Chúa thành tín đối với ai trung tín, trọn vẹn đối với ai thanh liêm.
With the kind thou wilt show thyself kind; with the upright man thou wilt show thyself upright;
26 Chúa thánh sạch đối với ai trong trắng, nhưng nghiêm minh đối với kẻ gian ngoa.
With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the perverse thou wilt wage a contest.
27 Chúa cứu vớt những người khiêm tốn, nhưng hạ thấp người có mắt tự cao.
For thou wilt indeed save the afflicted people; but haughty eyes wilt thou bring down.
28 Xin cho đèn con sáng mãi, lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời con, chiếu rọi nơi tối tăm của con.
For thou wilt cause my light to shine: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 Nhờ sức Chúa, con dẹp tan quân địch; cùng với Đức Chúa Trời con vượt tường thành.
For [aided] by thee I run through a troop; and [helped] by my God I leap over a wall.
30 Đức Chúa Trời thật muôn phần hoàn hảo. Lời Ngài toàn chân lý tinh thuần. Chúa vẫn là tấm khiên che chở, cho những ai nương náu nơi Ngài.
As for God, —his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a shield to all those that trust in him.
31 Ngoài Chúa Hằng Hữu, ai là Đức Chúa Trời? Ngoài Chúa ra, ai là Vầng Đá muôn đời?
For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock beside our God?
32 Đức Chúa Trời trang bị cho con năng lực, làm cho đường lối con trọn vẹn.
He is the God that girdeth me with strength, and rendereth my way unobstructed.
33 Chân con nhanh nhẹn như chân nai, đứng trên đỉnh núi cao an toàn.
He maketh my feet like those of the hinds, and upon my high-places he causeth me to stand.
34 Chúa luyện tay con chinh chiến, cánh tay con giương nổi cung đồng.
He teacheth my hands for the war, so that a brazen bow is bent by my arms.
35 Chúa trao con tấm khiên cứu rỗi, tay phải Ngài bảo vệ ẵm bồng con, Chúa hạ mình cho con được tôn cao.
And thou gavest me the shield of thy salvation, and thy right hand supported me: and thy meekness hath made me great.
36 Trước chân con, Chúa mở con đường, nên con chẳng bao giờ vấp ngã.
Thou enlargest my steps under me, so that my joints do not slip.
37 Con đuổi theo bắt kịp quân thù; chỉ trở về sau khi tận diệt.
I pursue my enemies, and overtake them; and I return not again till I have made an end of them.
38 Con đánh chúng đến khi ngưng đứng dậy; chúng ngã dài bên dưới chân con.
I crush them that they are not able to rise: they fall under my feet.
39 Chúa trang bị con sức mạnh cho chiến trận, khiến quân thù phục dưới chân con.
For thou hast girded me with strength for the war: thou subduest my opponents under me.
40 Chúa khiến địch quay lưng trốn chạy, bọn ghét con bị đánh tan hoang.
And my enemies thou causest to turn their back to me; and those that hate me, —that I may destroy them.
41 Họ van xin, không ai tiếp cứu, họ kêu cầu, Chúa chẳng trả lời.
They cry, but there is none to help; unto the Lord, —but he answereth them not.
42 Con nghiền nát chúng ra như bụi, ném họ như bùn đất ngoài đường.
And I beat them small as the dust before the wind: like the dirt in the streets do I cast them out.
43 Chúa cứu con khỏi sự công kích của con người, nâng con lên làm đầu các nước, cho những dân tộc xa lạ thần phục con.
Thou deliverest me from the contests of the people; thou appointest me to be the head of nations: a people that I know not shall serve me.
44 Vừa nghe tiếng con họ vội vàng quy phục, người nước ngoài, gọi dạ, bảo vâng.
As soon as their ear heareth they shall be obedient to me: the children of the stranger shall utter flattery unto me.
45 Chúng mất hết tinh thần, sức lực bỏ thành trì kiên cố quy hàng.
The children of the stranger shall fade away, and come forth trembling out of their close places.
46 Chúa Hằng Hữu hằng sống! Ngợi tôn Vầng Đá của con! Nguyện Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng Cứu Rỗi của con được tôn cao!
The Lord liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation;
47 Ngài là Đấng công minh báo oán cho con. Khiến các dân tộc quy phục con.
The God that granteth me vengeance, and subdueth nations under me;
48 Cứu thoát con khỏi tay quân địch, nâng con lên cao hơn mọi kẻ thù, cứu con khỏi người tàn bạo.
That delivereth me from my enemies: also above my opponents thou liftest me up; thou deliverest me from the man of violence.
49 Chính vì thế, con hằng ca ngợi, tôn vinh Chúa Hằng Hữu giữa muôn dân. Chúc tụng Thánh Danh Ngài khắp chốn.
Therefore will I give thanks unto thee among the nations, O Lord, and unto thy name will I sing praises, —
50 Chúa ban cho vua chiến thắng lớn lao và làm ơn cho người được xức dầu, cho Đa-vít và dòng dõi người mãi mãi.
[To him] that maketh great the salvation of his king, and who sheweth kindness to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for ever.
