Thánh Thi 14

1 (Thơ của Đa-vít, soạn cho nhạc trưởng) Người ngu dại tự nhủ: “Không có Đức Chúa Trời.” Chúng đều hư hoại, hành vi của chúng đáng ghê tởm; chẳng một ai làm điều thiện lành!

For the music director. A psalm of David. Only fools tell themselves, “God doesn't exist.” They are completely immoral; they commit terrible sins; not a single one of them does anything good.

2 Chúa Hằng Hữu từ trời nhìn xuống loài người xem có ai sáng suốt khôn ngoan, quyết tâm tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời.

The Lord watches from heaven to see whether anyone understands—if there's anyone who wants to come to God.

3 Nhưng tất cả đều từ chối Chúa; cùng nhau trở nên băng hoại. Chẳng ai trong số chúng làm điều thiện lành, dù một người cũng không.

They have all gone their own way, they are totally depraved; none of them does anything good, not even one.

4 Người gian ác không bao giờ học hỏi sao? Chúng vồ xé dân Ta như ăn bánh, và chẳng kêu cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu.

Won't these people who do evil ever learn? They consume my people as if they were eating bread, and refuse to pray to the Lord.

5 Chúng sẽ chìm trong khiếp sợ, kinh hoàng, vì Chúa có mặt giữa người công chính.

Look, they will become terrified, because God is with those who live right.

6 Người làm ác phá hỏng dự tính của người nghèo, nhưng Chúa là nơi nương thân của người khốn khó.

The wicked dismiss the plans of the poor people, but the Lord looks after them.

7 Ôi ước gì sự cứu rỗi cho Ít-ra-ên sẽ từ Si-ôn đến. Khi Chúa khôi phục sự hưng thịnh của dân Ngài, con cháu Gia-cốp sẽ reo vui mừng rỡ.

If only the Lord's salvation would come from Zion! When the Lord restores his people, the people of Jacob will celebrate, and the people of Israel will be glad.
