Thánh Thi 138

1 (Thơ của Đa-vít) Con hết lòng cảm tạ Chúa Hằng Hữu; ca tụng Ngài trước các thần linh.

A Psalm for David, of Aggaeus and Zacharias. I will give thee thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; and I will sing psalms to thee before the angels; for thou hast heard all the words of my mouth.

2 Hướng về Đền Thờ, con thờ lạy Chúa. Nguyện tri ân thành tín, nhân từ vì Danh Chúa được đề cao; lời Chúa được tôn trọng vô cùng.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks to thy name, on account of thy mercy and thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy holy name above every thing.

3 Khi con kêu xin, Chúa đáp lời; ban sinh lực, phấn khởi tâm linh.

In whatsoever day I shall call upon thee, hear me speedily; thou shalt abundantly provide me with thy power in my soul.

4 Mọi vua trần gian sẽ cảm tạ Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì họ được nghe lời Ngài.

Let all the kings of the earth, o Lord, give thanks unto thee; for they have heard all the words of thy mouth.

5 Phải, họ sẽ ca tụng công việc Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì vinh quang Ngài quá rực rỡ.

And let them sing in the ways of the Lord; for great is the glory of the Lord.

6 Dù Chúa Hằng Hữu cao cả, Ngài vẫn đoái thương người hèn mọn, nhưng ai kiêu ngạo, Chúa liền tránh xa.

For the Lord is high, and [yet] regards the lowly; and he knows high things from afar off.

7 Lúc tai ương dồn dập, Chúa sẽ bảo vệ con khỏi kẻ thù giận dữ. Chúa đưa tay Ngài ra, và quyền năng của tay phải Ngài giải cứu con.

Though I should walk in the midst of affliction, thou wilt quicken me; thou hast stretched forth thine hands against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand has saved me.

8 Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ chu toàn mọi việc cho con— vì lòng nhân từ Ngài, lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, tồn tại muôn đời. Xin đừng bỏ công việc của tay Ngài.

O Lord, thou shalt recompense [them] on my behalf: thy mercy, O Lord, [endures] for ever: overlook not the works of thine hands.
