1 (Thơ của Đa-vít, soạn cho nhạc trưởng) Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng con ca tụng, xin đừng im tiếng và tránh xa
To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm. O God of my praise, be not silent:
2 vì bọn ác và quân lừa đảo đang chống lại con, dối gạt con bằng miệng lưỡi láo xược.
For the mouth of the wicked [man] and the mouth of deceit are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue,
3 Phủ đầu con với những câu thù hận, đả kích và sỉ nhục con vô cớ.
And with words of hatred have they encompassed me; and they fight against me without a cause.
4 Họ vu cáo con dù con thương yêu họ nên con chỉ biết cầu nguyện!
For my love they are mine adversaries; but I [give myself unto] prayer.
5 Họ luôn luôn lấy ác báo thiện, lấy hận thù đáp lại tình thương.
And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Xin Chúa đặt người bạo ngược xét xử họ. Cử người buộc tội họ trước phiên tòa.
Set a wicked [man] over him, and let [the] adversary stand at his right hand;
7 Trước vành móng ngựa, họ bị kết án, lời cầu khẩn họ bị coi là lời buộc tội.
When he shall be judged, let him go out guilty, and let his prayer become sin;
8 Cuộc đời họ bị rút ngắn lại; tài sản họ bị người khác tước đoạt.
Let his days be few, let another take his office;
9 Con cái họ trở thành côi cút, vợ họ lâm vào cảnh góa bụa.
Let his sons be fatherless, and his wife a widow;
10 Dòng dõi họ lang thang khất thực, bị đuổi khỏi căn nhà xiêu vẹo.
Let his sons be vagabonds and beg, and let them seek [their bread] far from their desolate places;
11 Bọn chủ nợ cướp mất tài sản, và người lạ tước đoạt tiền công họ.
Let the usurer cast the net over all that he hath, and let strangers despoil his labour;
12 Không còn ai tỏ chút lòng thương xót; không một người chạnh thương đàn con côi cút.
Let there be none to extend kindness unto him, neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children;
13 Con cái họ bị tuyệt tự. Thế hệ tiếp, tên họ bị gạch bỏ.
Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out:
14 Nguyện Chúa Hằng Hữu không bao giờ quên tội ác cha ông họ; không xóa bôi lỗi lầm của mẹ họ.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Jehovah, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out;
15 Nguyện Chúa Hằng Hữu luôn nhớ tội lỗi họ, xóa kỷ niệm của họ khỏi đất.
Let them be before Jehovah continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth:
16 Vì họ chẳng bao giờ thương xót ai, chỉ bức hại người nghèo và khốn khó, săn bắt người nản lòng để giết đi.
Because he remembered not to shew kindness, but persecuted the afflicted and needy man, and the broken in heart, to slay him.
17 Họ thích chửi rủa người khác; nên bị người đời nguyền rủa. Họ chẳng bao giờ cầu phước; nên phước lánh xa.
And he loved cursing; so let it come unto him. And he delighted not in blessing; and let it be far from him.
18 Chúng lấy nguyền rủa phủ thân mình như mặc áo, lời rủa sả tràn ngập chúng như nước, dầm thấm xương tủy chúng như dầu.
And he clothed himself with cursing like his vestment; so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones;
19 Nguyện lời nguyền rủa như chiếc áo bao bọc họ, như giây nịt mang luôn dưới hông.
Let it be unto him as a garment with which he covereth himself, and for a girdle wherewith he is constantly girded.
20 Nguyện quân thù bị Chúa Hằng Hữu báo trả xứng đáng và bọn nói hành tôi bị hình phạt công bằng.
Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from Jehovah, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 Nhưng, Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao, xin can thiệp, vì con mang danh là con cái Chúa! Xin giải cứu con vì Ngài thật thành tín và nhân từ.
But do thou for me, Jehovah, Lord, for thy name's sake; because thy loving-kindness is good, deliver me:
22 Vì con khốn khổ và nghèo thiếu, tâm hồn con đang bị thương tổn.
For I am afflicted and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 Đời con qua nhanh như chiếc bóng chiều tà; con bị giũ sạch như loài châu chấu.
I am gone like a shadow when it lengtheneth; I am tossed about like the locust;
24 Con đói khát nên đầu gối rã rời, thân hình tiều tụy và gầy guộc.
My knees are failing through fasting, and my flesh hath lost its fatness;
25 Con trở thành biểu tượng con người thất bại, dân chúng thấy con đều lắc đầu phỉ nhổ.
And I am become a reproach unto them; [when] they look upon me they shake their heads.
26 Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời con, xin ra tay cứu giúp! Giải cứu con vì Chúa nhân từ.
Help me, Jehovah my God; save me according to thy loving-kindness:
27 Xin cho họ biết bàn tay Chúa, chính Ngài đã can thiệp giải nguy.
That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Jehovah, hast done it.
28 Dù họ nguyền rủa thế nào con cũng chịu, miễn sao con được Chúa ban phước lành! Khi họ nổi lên, họ sẽ bị hổ thẹn! Nhưng con, đầy tớ Chúa, sẽ hân hoan!
Let them curse, but bless thou; when they rise up, let them be ashamed, and let thy servant rejoice.
29 Nguyện bọn người cáo gian bị ô danh; sự sỉ nhục như áo choàng bao trùm người họ.
Let mine adversaries be clothed with confusion, and let them cover themselves with their shame as with a mantle.
30 Con sẽ reo mừng cảm tạ Chúa Hằng Hữu, con sẽ ca tụng Ngài, giữa toàn dân,
I will greatly celebrate Jehovah with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 Vì Chúa luôn đứng bên người nghèo khổ, sẵn sàng giải cứu người khỏi tay bọn sát nhân.
For he standeth at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those that judge his soul.
