1 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se:

2 “Trước ngày con qua đời, con sẽ báo thù người Ma-đi-an cho người Ít-ra-ên.”

to avenge vengeance son: descendant/people Israel from with [the] Midianite (after *L(P)*) to gather to(wards) kinsman your

3 Môi-se nói với dân chúng: “Một số người phải được trang bị khí giới để đi báo thù người Ma-đi-an, theo lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu.

and to speak: speak Moses to(wards) [the] people to/for to say to arm from with you human to/for army: war and to be upon Midian to/for to give: put vengeance LORD in/on/with Midian

4 Mỗi đại tộc tuyển 1.000 người.”

thousand to/for tribe thousand to/for tribe to/for all tribe Israel to send: depart to/for army: war

5 Và như vậy, từ trong các đại tộc Ít-ra-ên chọn 12.000 người tham dự trận này.

6 Môi-se ra lệnh tiến công, có Phi-nê-a, con Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa đem theo các dụng cụ thánh và kèn đồng cầm nơi tay.

7 Trong trận này, họ giết sạch những người đàn ông Ma-đi-an, như Chúa Hằng Hữu phán cùng Môi-se

8 kể cả năm vua Ma-đi-an là: Ê-vi, Rê-kem, Xu-rơ, Hu-rơ, và Rê-ba. Ba-la-am, con trai Bê-ô cũng chung số phận.

and [obj] king Midian to kill upon slain: killed their [obj] Evi and [obj] Rekem and [obj] Zur and [obj] Hur and [obj] Reba five king Midian and [obj] Balaam son: child Beor to kill in/on/with sword

9 Đạo quân Ít-ra-ên bắt đàn bà, trẻ con Ma-đi-an, thu chiến lợi phẩm gồm bò, chiên, và của cải.

and to take captive son: descendant/people Israel [obj] woman Midian and [obj] child their and [obj] all animal their and [obj] all livestock their and [obj] all strength: rich their to plunder

10 Họ đốt các thành và trang trại của người Ma-đi-an.

and [obj] all city their in/on/with seat their and [obj] all encampment their to burn in/on/with fire

11 Họ lấy các chiến lợi phẩm, người, và súc vật,

and to take: take [obj] all [the] spoil and [obj] all [the] prey in/on/with man and in/on/with animal

12 đem tất cả người và của cải chiếm được đến trước Môi-se, Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa và cộng đồng dân chúng Ít-ra-ên đang cắm trại tại đồng bằng Mô-áp, bên Sông Giô-đan, đối diện Giê-ri-cô.

and to come (in): bring to(wards) Moses and to(wards) Eleazar [the] priest and to(wards) congregation son: descendant/people Israel [obj] [the] captivity and [obj] [the] prey and [obj] [the] spoil to(wards) [the] camp to(wards) Plains (of Moab) (Plains of) Moab which upon Jordan Jericho

13 Môi-se, Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa, và các nhà lãnh đạo cộng đồng Ít-ra-ên ra tận bên ngoài trại tiếp đón đoàn quân chiến thắng trở về.

and to come out: come Moses and Eleazar [the] priest and all leader [the] congregation to/for to encounter: meet them to(wards) from outside to/for camp

14 Nhưng Môi-se giận các cấp chỉ huy quân đội lắm (họ gồm những quan chỉ huy hàng nghìn và hàng trăm quân).

and be angry Moses upon to reckon: overseer [the] strength: soldiers ruler [the] thousand and ruler [the] hundred [the] to come (in): come from army: duty [the] battle

15 Ông hỏi: “Tại sao các anh để cho tất cả phụ nữ Ma-đi-an sống?

16 Chính họ là những người đã vâng lời Ba-la-am, quyến rũ người Ít-ra-ên cúng thờ Phê-ô, phạm tội trọng với Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì thế mà tai họa đã xảy ra cho dân của Chúa Hằng Hữu.

17 Thế thì, ta phải giết hết những con trai và tất cả phụ nữ đã nằm với đàn ông,

and now to kill all male in/on/with child and all woman to know man to/for bed male to kill

18 nhưng để cho các trinh nữ sống, và dân chúng được giữ những trinh nữ này.

and all [the] child in/on/with woman which not to know bed male to live to/for you

19 Bây giờ, ai đã giết người hoặc đụng vào xác chết phải ở lại bên ngoài trại trong bảy ngày. Vào ngày thứ ba và ngày thứ bảy, phải tẩy sạch mình và người mình bắt được.

20 Cũng tẩy sạch áo xống, đồ dùng bằng da, bằng lông dê, và bằng gỗ.”

and all garment and all article/utensil skin and all deed: work goat and all article/utensil tree: wood to sin

21 Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa cũng nhắc nhở các chiến sĩ: “Đây là quy tắc Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền cho Môi-se:

and to say Eleazar [the] priest to(wards) human [the] army [the] to come (in): come to/for battle this statute [the] instruction which to command LORD [obj] Moses

22 Vật gì có thể đưa vào lửa được như vật bằng vàng, bạc, đồng, sắt, thiếc, hoặc chì,

surely [obj] [the] gold and [obj] [the] silver: money [obj] [the] bronze [obj] [the] iron [obj] [the] tin and [obj] [the] lead

23 thì phải đưa vào lửa đốt cho sạch. Sau đó, cũng phải dùng nước tẩy uế mà tẩy sạch nữa. Còn vật gì không chịu được lửa, thì dùng nước tẩy uế mà thôi.

all word: thing which to come (in): come in/on/with fire to pass in/on/with fire and be pure surely in/on/with water impurity to sin and all which not to come (in): come in/on/with fire to pass in/on/with water

24 Phải giặt sạch áo vào ngày thứ bảy và như thế anh em sẽ được sạch. Sau đó, anh em có thể vào trại.”

and to wash garment your in/on/with day [the] seventh and be pure and after to come (in): come to(wards) [the] camp

25 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se:

and to say LORD to(wards) Moses to/for to say

26 “Con sẽ cùng với Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa và các tộc trưởng lo kiểm kê các chiến lợi phẩm, cả người lẫn súc vật.

to lift: count [obj] head: count prey [the] captivity in/on/with man and in/on/with animal you(m. s.) and Eleazar [the] priest and head: leader father [the] congregation

27 Xong, chia chiến lợi phẩm ra làm hai phần, một phần thuộc về các chiến sĩ đã ra trận, phần kia thuộc về dân chúng.

and to divide [obj] [the] prey between to capture [the] battle [the] to come out: come to/for army: war and between all [the] congregation

28 Trong phần của các chiến sĩ, phải đem một phần năm trăm để dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, gồm người, bò, lừa, và chiên.

and to exalt tribute to/for LORD from with human [the] battle [the] to come out: come to/for army: war one soul: person from five [the] hundred from [the] man and from [the] cattle and from [the] donkey and from [the] flock

29 Phần trích ra này sẽ đem giao cho Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa để dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu.

from half their to take: take and to give: give to/for Eleazar [the] priest contribution LORD

30 Cũng lấy một phần năm mươi trong phân nửa của dân chúng để cho người Lê-vi, là những người có trách nhiệm phục vụ Đền Tạm của Chúa Hằng Hữu. Phần này cũng gồm có người, bò, lừa, và chiên.”

and from half son: descendant/people Israel to take: take one to grasp from [the] fifty from [the] man from [the] cattle from [the] donkey and from [the] flock from all [the] animal and to give: give [obj] them to/for Levi to keep: guard charge tabernacle LORD

31 Môi-se và Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa làm theo lời Chúa Hằng Hữu phán dạy.

and to make: do Moses and Eleazar [the] priest like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses

32 Chiến lợi phẩm do các chiến sĩ thu được (không kể đến một số của cải khác) gồm có: 675.000 con chiên và dê,

and to be [the] prey remainder [the] plunder which to plunder people: soldiers [the] army flock six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand

33 72.000 con bò,

and cattle two and seventy thousand

34 61.000 con lừa,

and donkey one and sixty thousand

35 và 32.000 trinh nữ.

and soul: person man from [the] woman which not to know bed male all soul: person two and thirty thousand

36 Như thế, phân nửa thuộc phần các chiến sĩ gồm có: 337.500 con chiên và dê,

and to be [the] half portion [the] to come out: come in/on/with army number [the] flock three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred

37 trong đó trích ra nộp cho Chúa Hằng Hữu là 675 con;

and to be [the] tribute to/for LORD from [the] flock six hundred five and seventy

38 36.000 con bò, trong đó trích ra nộp cho Chúa Hằng Hữu là 72 con;

and [the] cattle six and thirty thousand and tribute their to/for LORD two and seventy

39 30.500 con lừa, trong đó trích ra nộp cho Chúa Hằng Hữu là 61 con;

and donkey thirty thousand and five hundred and tribute their to/for LORD one and sixty

40 16.000 trinh nữ, trong đó trích ra nộp cho Chúa Hằng Hữu là 32 người

and soul: person man six ten thousand and tribute their to/for LORD two and thirty soul: person

41 Môi-se vâng lời Chúa Hằng Hữu, đem nộp cho Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa phần thuộc về Chúa Hằng Hữu.

and to give: give Moses [obj] tribute contribution LORD to/for Eleazar [the] priest like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses

42 Phân nửa chiến lợi phẩm thuộc về người Ít-ra-ên được Môi-se chi cho (phân nửa kia thuộc các chiến sĩ,

and from half son: descendant/people Israel which to divide Moses from [the] human [the] to serve

43 phân nửa này chia cho dân chúng), gồm có: 337.000 con chiên và dê,

and to be half [the] congregation from [the] flock three hundred thousand and thirty thousand seven thousand and five hundred

44 36.000 con bò,

and cattle six and thirty thousand

45 30.500 con lừa,

and donkey thirty thousand and five hundred

46 và 16.000 trinh nữ.

and soul: person man six ten thousand

47 Môi-se lấy hai phần trăm của phân nửa này, gồm cả người lẫn thú vật, đem cho người Lê-vi như Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo ông.

and to take: take Moses from half son: descendant/people Israel [obj] [the] to grasp one from [the] fifty from [the] man and from [the] animal and to give: give [obj] them to/for Levi to keep: guard charge tabernacle LORD like/as as which to command LORD [obj] Moses

48 Các quan chỉ huy hàng nghìn và hàng trăm quân đến thưa với Môi-se:

and to present: come to(wards) Moses [the] to reckon: overseer which to/for thousand [the] army ruler [the] thousand and ruler [the] hundred

49 “Chúng tôi đã kiểm điểm quân số và thấy là không một ai thiệt mạng cả.

and to say to(wards) Moses servant/slave your to lift: count [obj] head: leader human [the] battle which in/on/with hand: power our and not to reckon: missing from us man: anyone

50 Ngoài ra, chúng tôi mang đến đây các vật đã thu được: Nữ trang bằng vàng, vòng đeo tay, vòng đeo chân, nhẫn, hoa tai, và dây chuyền. Xin dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu làm lễ chuộc tội.”

and to present: bring [obj] offering LORD man: anyone which to find article/utensil gold armlet and bracelet ring ring and bracelet to/for to atone upon soul: myself our to/for face: before LORD

51 Môi-se và Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa nhận các lễ vật từ tay các chỉ huy.

and to take: recieve Moses and Eleazar [the] priest [obj] [the] gold from with them all article/utensil deed: work

52 Tổng số vàng dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu cân nặng 190 kg.

and to be all gold [the] contribution which to exalt to/for LORD six ten thousand seven hundred and fifty shekel from with ruler [the] thousand and from with ruler [the] hundred

53 Các chiến sĩ đều có thu hoạch chiến lợi phẩm riêng cho mình.

human [the] army to plunder man: anyone to/for him

54 Môi-se và Thầy Tế lễ Ê-lê-a-sa đem các lễ vật này cất vào Đền Tạm để làm một kỷ niệm của dân chúng Ít-ra-ên trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu.

and to take: recieve Moses and Eleazar [the] priest [obj] [the] gold from with ruler [the] thousand and [the] hundred and to come (in): bring [obj] him to(wards) tent meeting memorial to/for son: descendant/people Israel to/for face: before LORD
