1 Nghe thế, mọi người khóc lóc nức nở. Họ khóc suốt đêm ấy.
and to lift: loud all [the] congregation and to give: cry out [obj] voice: sound their and to weep [the] people in/on/with night [the] he/she/it
2 Họ cùng nhau lên tiếng trách Môi-se và A-rôn: “Thà chúng tôi chết ở Ai Cập hay chết trong hoang mạc này còn hơn!
and to grumble upon Moses and upon Aaron all son: descendant/people Israel and to say to(wards) them all [the] congregation if to die in/on/with land: country/planet Egypt or in/on/with wilderness [the] this if to die
3 Tại sao Chúa Hằng Hữu đem chúng tôi đến đây để chịu đâm chém, và vợ con chúng tôi làm mồi cho địch? Thà đi trở lại Ai Cập còn hơn!”
and to/for what? LORD to come (in): bring [obj] us to(wards) [the] land: country/planet [the] this to/for to fall: kill in/on/with sword woman: wife our and child our to be to/for plunder not pleasant to/for us to return: return Egypt [to]
4 Họ quay lại bàn với nhau: “Chúng ta nên bầu một vị lãnh tụ để đem chúng ta quay về Ai Cập!”

5 Môi-se và A-rôn sấp mình xuống trước mặt toàn thể người dân Ít-ra-ên.

6 Giô-suê, con của Nun, và Ca-lép, con của Giê-phu-nê, là hai người trong toán đi trinh sát Ca-na-an về, liền xé áo mình,
and Joshua son: child Nun and Caleb son: child Jephunneh from [the] to spy [obj] [the] land: country/planet to tear garment their
7 khích lệ mọi người: “Xứ chúng tôi đi do thám đất đai vô cùng màu mỡ.
and to say to(wards) all congregation son: descendant/people Israel to/for to say [the] land: country/planet which to pass in/on/with her to/for to spy [obj] her pleasant [the] land: country/planet much much
8 Nếu Chúa Hằng Hữu thương yêu giúp đỡ, Ngài sẽ đưa chúng ta vào và cho chúng ta xứ ấy, là một xứ ‘đượm sữa và mật.’
if to delight in in/on/with us LORD and to come (in): bring [obj] us to(wards) [the] land: country/planet [the] this and to give: give her to/for us land: country/planet which he/she/it to flow: flowing milk and honey
9 Nhưng, xin anh chị em đừng nổi loạn cùng Chúa Hằng Hữu, cũng đừng sợ dân của xứ ấy, vì họ chỉ là mồi cho chúng ta. Họ không thể chống đỡ vì Chúa Hằng Hữu đứng bên chúng ta, không việc gì ta phải sợ họ!”
surely in/on/with LORD not to rebel and you(m. p.) not to fear [obj] people [the] land: country/planet for food: bread our they(masc.) to turn aside: remove shadow their from upon them and LORD with us not to fear them
10 Nhưng mọi người lại bảo nhau lấy đá ném cho hai ông chết. Bỗng vinh quang của Chúa Hằng Hữu hiện ra tại Đền Tạm trước mặt toàn thể người Ít-ra-ên.
and to say all [the] congregation to/for to stone [obj] them in/on/with stone and glory LORD to see: see in/on/with tent meeting to(wards) all son: descendant/people Israel
11 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se: “Dân này không tin Ta, khinh dể Ta cho đến bao giờ, mặc dù Ta đã làm bao nhiêu phép lạ giữa họ?
and to say LORD to(wards) Moses till where? to spurn me [the] people [the] this and till where? not be faithful in/on/with me in/on/with all [the] sign: miraculous which to make: do in/on/with entrails: among his
12 Ta sẽ truất quyền thừa hưởng của họ, tiêu diệt họ bằng dịch lệ tai ương, rồi sẽ làm cho dòng giống của con thành một nước lớn mạnh hơn họ.”
to smite him in/on/with pestilence and to possess: take him and to make [obj] you to/for nation great: large and mighty from him
13 Nhưng Môi-se thưa lên Chúa Hằng Hữu: “Nếu thế, người Ai Cập sẽ nghe tin này. Vì Chúa đã dùng quyền lực phi thường đem Ít-ra-ên ra đi từ Ai Cập,
and to say Moses to(wards) LORD and to hear: hear Egyptian for to ascend: establish in/on/with strength your [obj] [the] people [the] this from entrails: among his
14 họ sẽ báo cho dân ở trong xứ này biết. Họ cũng có nghe rằng Chúa là Chúa Hằng Hữu ở với người Ít-ra-ên, hiện diện giữa Ít-ra-ên. Đám mây của Chúa dẫn đường Ít-ra-ên ngày và đêm.
and to say to(wards) to dwell [the] land: country/planet [the] this to hear: hear for you(m. s.) LORD in/on/with entrails: among [the] people [the] this which eye in/on/with eye to see: see you(m. s.) LORD and cloud your to stand: stand upon them and in/on/with pillar cloud you(m. s.) to go: went to/for face: before their by day and in/on/with pillar fire night
15 Bây giờ nếu Chúa tiêu diệt Ít-ra-ên, những nước đã nghe danh tiếng Chúa sẽ nói rằng:
and to die [obj] [the] people [the] this like/as man one and to say [the] nation which to hear: hear [obj] report your to/for to say
16 ‘Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu không thể nào đem Ít-ra-ên vào đất Ngài thề hứa cho họ, nên mới giết họ trong hoang mạc.’
from lest be able LORD to/for to come (in): bring [obj] [the] people [the] this to(wards) [the] land: country/planet which to swear to/for them and to slaughter them in/on/with wilderness
17 Vậy con van nài Chúa, xin quyền năng của Chúa Hằng Hữu thể hiện cách uy nghi, như Chúa đã phán:
and now to magnify please strength Lord like/as as which to speak: promise to/for to say
18 ‘Chúa Hằng Hữu đầy tình thương, chậm giận, hay thứ lỗi, nhưng Chúa cũng không thể không trừng phạt người có tội và dòng dõi họ.’
LORD slow face: anger and many kindness to lift: forgive iniquity: crime and transgression and to clear not to clear to reckon: visit iniquity: crime father upon son: child upon third and upon fourth
19 Xin Chúa tha tội cho dân này, vì tình thương không hề thay đổi của Chúa, cũng như Chúa đã bao lần tha thứ cho họ từ khi còn ở Ai Cập cho đến ngày nay.”
to forgive please to/for iniquity: crime [the] people [the] this like/as greatness kindness your and like/as as which to lift: forgive to/for people [the] this from Egypt and till here/thus
20 Chúa Hằng Hữu đáp: “Theo lời con xin, Ta đã tha cho họ.
and to say LORD to forgive like/as word your
21 Nhưng hiển nhiên như Ta hằng sống, vinh quang Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ tràn ngập đất.
and but alive I and to fill glory LORD [obj] all [the] land: country/planet
22 Trong tất cả những người thấy vinh quang Ta, sẽ không cho một ai được thấy đất đai Ta đã hứa cho tổ tiên họ. Họ đã thấy các phép lạ Ta làm tại Ai Cập cũng như
for all [the] human [the] to see: see [obj] glory my and [obj] sign: miraculous my which to make: do in/on/with Egypt and in/on/with wilderness and to test [obj] me this ten beat and not to hear: obey in/on/with voice my
23 trong hoang mạc, nhưng đã mười lần không tin Ta, không vâng lời Ta.

24 Nhưng đầy tớ Ta là Ca-lép, với một tinh thần khác biệt, đã hết lòng theo Ta; nên Ta sẽ đưa Ca-lép vào đất người đã trinh sát, và con cháu người sẽ hưởng chủ quyền đất ấy.
and servant/slave my Caleb consequence to be spirit another with him and to fill after me and to come (in): bring him to(wards) [the] land: country/planet which to come (in): come there [to] and seed: children his to possess: take her
25 Lúc ấy người A-ma-léc và người Ca-na-an đang sống trong thung lũng. Ngày mai, các ngươi sẽ quay lại, đi vào hoang mạc theo hướng Biển Đỏ.”
and [the] Amalekite and [the] Canaanite to dwell in/on/with valley tomorrow to turn and to set out to/for you [the] wilderness way: road sea Red (Sea)
26 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se và A-rôn:
and to speak: speak LORD to(wards) Moses and to(wards) Aaron to/for to say
27 “Những người tội lỗi này còn phàn nàn oán trách Ta cho đến bao giờ? Ta đã nghe hết những lời của người Ít-ra-ên phàn nàn rồi.
till how to/for congregation [the] bad: evil [the] this which they(masc.) to grumble upon me [obj] murmuring son: descendant/people Israel which they(masc.) to grumble upon me to hear: hear
28 Con bảo họ rằng: ‘Hiển nhiên như Chúa Hằng Hữu hằng sống, Ta sẽ làm cho những lời kêu ca của các ngươi thành sự thật.
to say to(wards) them alive I utterance LORD if: surely yes not like/as as which to speak: speak in/on/with ear: hearing my so to make: do to/for you
29 Các ngươi đều phải chết trong hoang mạc; tất cả những ai đã oán trách Ta, từ hai mươi tuổi trở lên,
in/on/with wilderness [the] this to fall: kill corpse your and all to reckon: list your to/for all number your from son: aged twenty year and above [to] which to grumble upon me
30 đều không được vào đất hứa, trừ Ca-lép, con Giê-phu-nê và Giô-suê, con Nun.
if: surely no you(m. p.) to come (in): come to(wards) [the] land: country/planet which to lift: vow [obj] hand: vow my to/for to dwell [obj] you in/on/with her that if: except if: except Caleb son: child Jephunneh and Joshua son: child Nun

33 Vì các ngươi bất trung, nên con cái các ngươi phải lang thang trong hoang mạc suốt bốn mươi năm, cho đến ngày những người sau cùng trong các ngươi chết trong hoang mạc.
and son: child your to be to pasture in/on/with wilderness forty year and to lift: bear [obj] fornication your till to finish corpse your in/on/with wilderness
34 Vì các ngươi đã trinh sát xứ trong bốn mươi ngày, nên các ngươi phải lang thang trong hoang mạc suốt bốn mươi năm—mỗi ngày là một năm, đó là thời gian các ngươi phải mang tội ác mình. Các ngươi sẽ ý thức được hậu quả của việc toa rập nhau chống nghịch Ta.’

35 Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu đã quyết định như vậy, họ phải chết trong hoang mạc này vì tội phản nghịch Ta.”
I LORD to speak: speak if: surely yes not this to make: do to/for all [the] congregation [the] bad: evil [the] this [the] to appoint upon me in/on/with wilderness [the] this to finish and there to die
36 Riêng các thám tử mà Môi-se đã sai đi trinh sát xứ, khi trở về có xui cho dân chúng lằm bằm cùng Môi-se,

37 những người cản trở, trình báo sai trật đều bị tai vạ hành chết ngay trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu.
and to die [the] human to come out: speak slander [the] land: country/planet bad: harmful in/on/with plague to/for face: before LORD
38 Trong những người đi trinh sát xứ chỉ có Giô-suê, con trai của Nun, và Ca-lép, con trai của Giê-phu-nê còn sống được.
and Joshua son: child Nun and Caleb son: child Jephunneh to live from [the] human [the] they(masc.) [the] to go: went to/for to spy [obj] [the] land: country/planet
39 Môi-se thuật lại mọi lời của Chúa Hằng Hữu cho toàn dân Ít-ra-ên, nên họ vô cùng sầu thảm.
and to speak: speak Moses [obj] [the] word [the] these to(wards) all son: descendant/people Israel and to mourn [the] people much
40 Sáng hôm sau, họ dậy sớm, leo lên núi và nói: “Chúng tôi đã phạm tội. Nhưng bây giờ chúng tôi sẵn sàng vào đất hứa. Thấy không, chúng tôi đã lên đến tận đất mà Chúa Hằng Hữu đã hứa với chúng tôi.”

41 Nhưng Môi-se nói: “Đã đến nước này sao còn cãi lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu? Làm vậy anh em chỉ có thất bại.

42 Tự ý ra đi khi không có Chúa Hằng Hữu đi cùng, anh em sẽ bị quân thù đánh bại.

43 Anh em sẽ chết dưới lưỡi gươm của quân A-ma-léc và Ca-na-an, vì anh em đã chối bỏ Chúa Hằng Hữu, nên Ngài cũng từ bỏ anh em.”
for [the] Amalekite and [the] Canaanite there to/for face: before your and to fall: kill in/on/with sword for as that: since as as to return: turn back from after LORD and not to be LORD with you
44 Nhưng họ ngoan cố cứ tiến lên núi, mặc dù Môi-se và Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu vẫn chưa rời trại.
and to presume to/for to ascend: rise to(wards) head: top [the] mountain: hill country and ark covenant LORD and Moses not to remove from entrails: among [the] camp
45 Quân A-ma-léc và Ca-na-an ở trên đồi núi đổ xuống đánh giết họ và đánh đuổi họ chạy dài cho đến Họt-ma.
