Nê-hê-mi-a 7
1 Sau khi tường thành đã xây xong, các cánh cổng được lắp vào, và những người gác cổng, ca sĩ, người Lê-vi được cắt cử vào nhiệm vụ,
And it came to pass, when the wall was built, that I set up the doors; and then were appointed the gatekeepers and the singers and the [other] Levites [to their office].
2 tôi giao cho Ha-na-ni là em tôi, và Ha-na-nia, là quan trấn thủ thành lũy lo việc cai trị Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ha-na-nia là một người trung thực và kính sợ Đức Chúa Trời hơn nhiều người khác.
And I gave my brother Chanani, and Chananyah the commander of the fortress, charge over Jerusalem; for he was esteemed a faithful man, and one that feared God these many days.
3 Tôi dặn họ chỉ mở cổng thành khi mặt trời đã lên cao, đóng cổng cài then khi lính còn đang còn đứng gác. Phải chọn người dân Giê-ru-sa-lem làm lính gác, cắt đặt phiên gác cho mỗi người, và cho ai nấy được gác đoạn tường thành gần nhà mình.
And I said unto them, The gates of Jerusalem must not be opened until the sun be hot; and while ye stand by, let them shut the doors, and do ye bar them; and station watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one opposite to his house.
4 Vào thời gian đó, thành thì rộng lớn, dân cư ít ỏi, nhà cửa thưa thớt.
But the city was roomy in space and large: while the people therein were few, and the houses were not yet built.
5 Đức Chúa Trời giục lòng tôi triệu tập các nhà lãnh đạo và toàn dân lại để đăng bộ. Và tôi cũng tìm được một sách chép gia phả của những người trở về Giu-đa đợt thứ nhất. Sách ấy có ghi:
Then did my God put it into my heart, and I assembled together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might give in their genealogy; and I found a register of the genealogy of those who were come up at the first, and I found written therein:
6 Đây là tên những người trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, sau thời gian bị Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, bắt đi lưu đày:
These arc the children of the province, that came up out of the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried into exile, and who returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his own city;
7 Các nhà lãnh đạo gồm có: Xô-rô-ba-bên, Giê-sua, Nê-hê-mi, A-xa-ria, Ra-a-nia, Na-ha-ma-ni, Mạc-đô-chê, Binh-san, Mích-bê-rết, Biết-vai, Nê-hum, và Ba-a-na. Những người Ít-ra-ên hồi hương gồm có:
Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua', Nehemiah, 'Azaryah, Ra'amyah, Nachamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Misspereth, Bigvai, Nechum, Ba'anah. The number of the men of the people of Israel was:

All the temple-servants, and the children of Solomon' servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
61 Có một số người từ Tên Mê-la, Tên Hạt-sa, Kê-rúp, A-đôn, và Y-mê trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem, nhưng không còn gia phả hay bằng cớ về căn nguyên tông tộc để chứng minh mình là người Ít-ra-ên. Những người này gồm có:
And these were they who came up from Thel-melach, Thelcharsha, Kerub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not tell their family division and their descent, whether they were of Israel.
62 Họ Đê-la-gia, họ Tô-bia, và họ Nê-cô-đa, tổng cộng 642 người.
The children of Delayah, the children of Tobiyah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.

And of the priests: The children of Chobayah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gil'adite, and was called after their name.
64 Những người này cũng không tìm được gia phả, nên bị ngưng chức tế lễ và không được hưởng phần ăn thánh,
These sought for their family register, but it was not found: wherefore they were excluded, as unfit, from the priesthood.
65 vì vị tổng trấn muốn chờ đến khi có một thầy tế lễ có thể dùng U-rim và Thu-mim để cầu hỏi Đức Chúa Trời.
And the Thirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand up a priest with the Urim and Thummim.
66 Tổng số các nhóm kể trên lên đến 42.360 người.
The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and sixty:
67 Ngoài ra, có 7.337 gia nhân, và 245 ca sĩ, cả nam lẫn nữ.
Besides these were their man-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred and forty and five singing men and singing women.

Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
69 435 con lạc đà, và 6.720 con lừa.
[Their] camels, four hundred thirty and five: [their] asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
70 Các nhà lãnh đạo đã hiến dâng của cải vào quỹ đài thọ công tác. Tổng trấn dâng 8,6 ký vàng, 50 cái chậu, và 530 bộ lễ phục cho các thầy tế lễ.
And a portion of the chiefs of the divisions gave unto the work. The Thirshatha gave to the treasure, of gold one thousand drachms, fifty bowls, five hundred and thirty coats for the priests.
71 Một số trưởng tộc dâng 170 ký vàng, 1.300 ký bạc.
And some of the chiefs of the divisions gave to the treasury of the work, of gold twenty thousand drachms, and of silver two thousand and two hundred manehs.
72 Dân đóng góp 170 ký vàng, 1.200 ký bạc, và 67 bộ lễ phục cho các thầy tế lễ.
And what the rest of the people gave was, of gold twenty thousand drachms, and of silver two thousand manehs, and priests coats sixty and seven.
73 Vậy, các thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, người gác cổng, ca sĩ, người phục dịch Đền Thờ, và tất cả những người Ít-ra-ên khác trở về sinh sống trong thành mình. Đến tháng bảy, người Ít-ra-ên từ các thành về tụ họp tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
So the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the temple-servants, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities: and so came round the seventh month, while the children of Israel were in their cities.
