Nê-hê-mi-a 11
1 Vào thời ấy, chỉ có một số các nhà lãnh đạo dân tộc cư trú trong thành Giê-ru-sa-lem mà thôi, còn dân đều ở trong các thành khác. Vì thế người ta bắt thăm để chọn một phần mười dân số đem vào Giê-ru-sa-lem.
The [Israeli] leaders [and their families] settled in the sacred city, Jerusalem. The other people (cast lots/threw marked stones) to determine which family from each ten families would live in Jerusalem. The other people continued to live in the other towns and cities [in Judea].
2 Tuy nhiên, nếu có ai tình nguyện vào sống trong thành thánh Giê-ru-sa-lem, thì họ rất được hoan nghênh.
Those people [asked God to] bless those who volunteered to [be among the 10% who] moved to Jerusalem.
3 Sau đây là danh sách các nhà lãnh đạo cấp tỉnh sống tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. (Mặc dù đa số các nhà lãnh đạo toàn dân Ít-ra-ên, các thầy tế lễ người Lê-vi, người phục dịch Đền Thờ, và con cháu quần thần Sa-lô-môn vẫn sống trong đất mình tại các thành khác thuộc Giu-đa,
[Some of] the priests, [some of] the [other] descendants of Levi, [some of] the temple workers, and the descendants of King Solomon’s servants, and many of the other people lived on their own property in the towns [where their ancestors had lived].

But some people from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin [decided to] live in Jerusalem. One of them from the tribe of Judah was Athaiah. He was the son of Uzziah, who was the son of Zechariah, who was the son of Amariah, who was the son of Shephatiah, who was the son of Mahalalel, who was a descendant of [Judah’s son] Perez.
5 Ma-a-xê-gia, con Ba-rúc, cháu Côn-hô-xe, chắt Ha-xa-gia, chút A-đa-gia, chít Giô-a-ríp; Giô-gia-ríp là con Xa-cha-ri, cháu Si-lô-ni.
[Another one from the tribe of Judah was] Maaseiah, [who was] the son of Baruch, [who was] the son of Colhozeh, [who was] the son of Hazaiah, [who was] the son of Adaiah, [who was] the son of Joiarib, [who was] the son of Zechariah, [who was] a descendant of [Judah’s son] Shelah.
6 Con cháu Phê-rết có 468 người sống ở Giê-ru-sa-lem, toàn là người dũng cảm.
There were 468 men who were descendants of Perez who were valiant/courageous soldiers who lived in Jerusalem.
7 Người thuộc đại tộc Bên-gia-min: Sa-lu, con Mê-su-lam, cháu Giô-ết, chắt Phê-đa-gia, chút Cô-loa-gia, chít Ma-a-xê-gia; Ma-a-xê-gia là con Y-thi-ên, cháu Ê-sai.
[One of the men] of the tribe of Benjamin who decided to live in Jerusalem was Sallu, the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.
8 Sau ông có Gáp-bai, Sa-lai và 928 người khác.
Two of Sallu’s relatives, Gabbai and Sallai, also settled in Jerusalem. Altogether, 928 people from the tribe of Benjamin settled in Jerusalem
9 Đứng đầu những người này có Giô-ên, con Xiếc-ri, và Giu-đa, con Ha-sê-nua, làm phó thị trưởng.
Their leader was Joel, son of Zichri. The official who was second in command in Jerusalem was Hassenuah.
10 Các thầy tế lễ: Giê-đa-gia, con Giô-gia-ríp, Gia-kin;
The priests [who settled in Jerusalem] were Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jakin,
11 và Sê-ra-gia, con Hinh-kia, cháu Mê-su-lam, chắt Xa-đốc, chút Mê-ra-giốt, chít A-hi-túp, cai quản Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời.
Seraiah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub [who had previously been] the Supreme Priest.
12 Và 822 thầy tế lễ khác phục vụ trong Đền Thờ. A-đa-gia, con Giê-rô-ham, cháu Phê-la-lia, chắt Am-si, chút Xa-cha-ri, chít Pha-sua; Pha-sua là con Manh-ki-gia,
Altogether, 822 members of that clan worked in the temple. Another [priest who settled in Jerusalem] was Adaiah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah.
13 và 242 thầy tế lễ khác đều là trưởng họ; A-ma-sai, con A-xa-rên, cháu Ạc-xai, chắt Mê-si-lê-mốt, chút Y-mê,
Altogether, there were 242 members of that clan who were leaders of the clan [who settled in Jerusalem]. Another [priest who settled in Jerusalem] was Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer.
14 và 128 thầy tế lễ khác đều là người dũng cảm. Đứng đầu những người này có Xáp-đi-ên, con Hát-ghê-đô-lim.
There were 128 members of that clan who were valiant soldiers [who settled in Jerusalem]. Their leader was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim.
15 Những người Lê-vi: Sê-ma-gia, con Ha-súp, cháu A-ri-kham, chắt Ha-sa-bia, chút Bun-ni.
Another descendant of Levi who settled in Jerusalem was Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni.
16 Sa-bê-thai, Giô-xa-bát, là những nhà lãnh đạo Lê-vi trông coi các công việc bên ngoài Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời.
Two others were Shabbethai and Jozabad, who were prominent men who supervised the work outside the temple.
17 Mát-ta-nia, con Mai-ca cháu Xáp-đi, chắt A-sáp, trách nhiệm việc khởi xướng cầu nguyện cảm tạ. Bác-bu-kia, con thứ hai trong gia đình, và Áp-đa, con Sa-mua, cháu Ga-la, chắt Giê-đu-thun.
Another one was Mattaniah, the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph. Mattaniah directed the temple choir when they sang the prayers to thank [God]. His assistant was Bakbukiah. Another one was Abda, the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
18 Có tất cả 284 người Lê-vi ở trong thành thánh.
Altogether, there were 284 descendants of Levi who settled in Jerusalem.
19 Những người gác cổng: A-cúp, Tanh-môn và những người khác, tổng cộng 172 người.
The men who guarded the temple gates were Akkub and Talmon and 172 of their relatives who settled in Jerusalem.
20 Những người còn lại gồm các thầy tế lễ người Lê-vi, và các thường dân và ở rải rác trong các thành khác thuộc Giu-đa. Họ sống trong phần đất thừa hưởng của cha ông.
The other Israeli people including priests and [other] descendants of Levi lived on their own property in other towns and cities in Judea.
21 Còn những người phục dịch Đền Thờ và hai người đứng đầu nhóm này, Xi-ha và Ghít-ba, đều ở tại Ô-phên.
But the temple workers lived on Ophel [Hill in Jerusalem]. They were supervised by Ziha and Gishpa.
22 U-xi, con Ba-ni, cháu Ha-sa-bia, chắt Mát-ta-nia, chút Mai-ca, thuộc dòng A-sáp là dòng các ca sĩ, đứng đầu những người Lê-vi làm công việc trong Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời.
The man who supervised the [other] descendants of Levi who [helped the priests and] lived in Jerusalem was Uzzi, the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica. Uzzi belonged to the clan of Asaph, the clan that was in charge of the music in the temple.
23 Vua Đa-vít có ấn định quy chế về việc cung lương hướng và chi phí hằng ngày cho các ca sĩ người Lê-vi này.
The king [of Persia] had commanded that the clans should decide what each clan should do to lead the music in the temple each day.
24 Phê-ta-hia, con Mê-sê-xa-bên thuộc dòng Xê-rách con Giu-đa, được vua ủy thác mọi công việc liên hệ đến toàn dân.
Pethahiah, the son of Meshezabel, [who was] from the clan of Zerah and a descendant of Judah, was the ambassador [of the Israelis] to the king of Persia.
25 Có những người Giu-đa sống trong các thành sau đây: Ki-ri-át A-ra-ba và các thôn ấp phụ cận, Đi-bôn và các thôn ấp phụ cận, Giê-cáp Xê-ên và các thôn ấp phụ cận,
Some of the people [who did not settle in Jerusalem] lived in villages close to their farms. Some from the tribe of Judah lived in villages near Kiriath-Arba, Dibon, and Jekabzeel [cities].
26 Giê-sua, Mô-la-đa, Bết-pha-lê,
Some lived in Jeshua [city], in Moladah [city], in Beth-Pelet [city],
27 Hát-sa-su-anh, Bê-e-sê-ba và các thôn ấp phụ cận,
in Hazar-Shual [city], and in Beersheba [city] and the villages near it.
28 Xiếc-lác, Mê-cô-na và các thôn ấp phụ cận,
Others lived in Ziklag [city], in Meconah [city] and the villages near it,
29 Ên-rim-môn, Xô-ra, Giạt-mút,
in En-Rimmon [city], in Zorah [city], in Jarmuth [city],
30 Xa-nô-a, A-đu-lam và các thôn ấp phụ cận, La-ki và đồng ruộng chung quanh, A-xê-ca và các thôn ấp phụ cận. Như thế, người ta ở rải rác từ Bê-e-sê-ba cho đến thung lũng Hi-nôm.
in Zanoah [city], in Adullam [city], and in the villages near those cities. Some lived in Lachish [city] and in the nearby villages, and some lived in Azekah [town] and the villages near it. All of those people lived in Judea, in the area between Beersheba [in the south] and Hinnom Valley [in the north, at the edge of Jerusalem].
31 Người Bên-gia-min sống trong các thành Ghê-ba, Mích-ma, A-gia, Bê-tên và các thôn ấp phụ cận,
The people of the tribe of Benjamin lived in Geba [city], Micmash [city], Aija [city which is also known as Ai], Bethel [city] and in nearby villages,
32 A-na-tốt, Nóp, A-na-nia,
in Anathoth [city], in Nob [city], in Ananiah [town],
33 Hát-so, Ra-ma, Ghi-tha-im,
in Hazor [city], in Ramah [city], in Gittaim [city],
34 Ha-đi, Xê-bô-im, Nê-ba-lát,
in Hadid [city], in Zeboim [town], in Neballat [town],
35 Lô-đơ, Ô-nô tức thung lũng của thợ thủ công.
in Lod [town], in Ono [town], and in Craftsmen’s Valley.
36 Có một số người Lê-vi vốn ở Giu-đa đến sống với người Bên-gia-min.
Some of the groups of the descendants of Levi who had lived in Judea were sent to live with [the people of the tribe of] Benjamin.
