Ma-thi-ơ 15
1 Các thầy dạy luật và Pha-ri-si từ Giê-ru-sa-lem đến chất vấn Chúa Giê-xu:
Then came to Iesus the Scribes and Pharises, which were of Hierusalem, saying,
2 “Sao môn đệ Thầy không tuân theo tục lệ của người xưa truyền lại? Họ không rửa tay trước khi ăn!”
Why do thy disciples transgresse the tradition of the Elders? for they wash not their hands when they eate bread.
3 Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Thế sao tục lệ của các ông vi phạm mệnh lệnh của Đức Chúa Trời?
But he answered and said vnto them, Why doe yee also transgresse the commandement of God by your tradition?
4 Đức Chúa Trời dạy: ‘Phải hiếu kính cha mẹ,’ và ‘Ai nguyền rủa cha mẹ phải bị xử tử.’
For God hath commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 Nhưng các ông cho là đúng khi con cái nói với cha mẹ rằng: ‘Con không thể giúp cha mẹ. Vì con đã lấy tiền phụng dưỡng cha mẹ dâng lên Đức Chúa Trời.’
But ye say, Whosoeuer shall say to father or mother, By the gift that is offered by me, thou maiest haue profite,
6 Như vậy, vì truyền thống của mình mà các ông đã hủy bỏ lời của Đức Chúa Trời.
Though hee honour not his father, or his mother, shalbe free: thus haue ye made the commandement of God of no aucthoritie by your tradition.
7 Hạng đạo đức giả! Tiên tri Y-sai đã nói về các ông thật đúng:
O hypocrites, Esaias prophecied well of you, saying,
8 ‘Miệng dân này nói lời tôn kính Ta, nhưng lòng họ cách xa Ta.
This people draweth neere vnto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with the lips, but their heart is farre off from me.
9 Việc họ thờ phượng Ta thật vô ích, thay vì vâng giữ mệnh lệnh Ta, họ đem dạy luật lệ do họ đặt ra.’”
But in vaine they worship me, teaching for doctrines, mens precepts.
10 Chúa Giê-xu gọi đoàn dân đến dạy bảo: “Anh chị em hãy lắng nghe và cố hiểu lời này:
Then hee called the multitude vnto him, and said to them, Heare and vnderstand.
11 Vật đưa vào miệng không làm con người dơ bẩn; nhưng điều gì ra từ miệng mới làm ô uế con người.”
That which goeth into the mouth, defileth not the man, but that which commeth out of the mouth, that defileth the man.
12 Các môn đệ thưa: “Lời Thầy vừa nói làm mất lòng phái Pha-ri-si.”
Then came his disciples, and saide vnto him, Perceiuest thou not, that the Pharises are offended in hearing this saying?
13 Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Cây nào Cha Ta không trồng sẽ bị nhổ đi.
But hee answered and saide, Euery plant which mine heauenly Father hath not planted, shalbe rooted vp.
14 Đừng tiếc làm gì! Họ đã mù quáng, lại ra lãnh đạo đám người mù, nên chỉ đưa nhau xuống hố thẳm.”
Let them alone, they be the blinde leaders of the blinde: and if the blinde leade ye blinde, both shall fall into the ditche.
15 Phi-e-rơ xin Chúa Giê-xu giải nghĩa câu: “Vật vào miệng không làm dơ bẩn con người …”
Then answered Peter, and said to him, Declare vnto vs this parable.
16 Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Con cũng không hiểu nữa sao?
Then said Iesus, Are ye yet without vnderstanding?
17 Con không biết thức ăn vào miệng, chỉ qua dạ dày, rồi ra khỏi thân thể sao?
Perceiue ye not yet, that whatsoeuer entreth into the mouth, goeth into the bellie, and is cast out into the draught?
18 Còn lời nói độc ác phát ra từ lòng mới thật sự làm dơ bẩn con người.
But those thinges which proceede out of the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man.
19 Vì từ lòng dạ con người sinh ra tư tưởng ác, như giết người, ngoại tình, gian dâm, trộm cắp, dối trá, và phỉ báng.
For out of the heart come euil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slaunders.
20 Những thứ ấy mới làm dơ dáy con người. Trái lại, không làm lễ rửa tay trước bữa ăn chẳng làm hoen ố tâm hồn con người đâu.”
These are the things, which defile the man: but to eat with vnwashen hands, defileth not ye man.
21 Chúa Giê-xu rời xứ Ga-li-lê đến phía bắc của miền Ty-rơ và Si-đôn.
And Iesus went thence, and departed into the coastes of Tyrus and Sidon.
22 Một phụ nữ Ca-na-an ở vùng đó đến kêu xin: “Lạy Chúa, Con Vua Đa-vít, xin thương xót tôi, vì con gái tôi bị quỷ ám! Quỷ hành hạ nó kinh khiếp lắm!”
And beholde, a woman a Cananite came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying vnto him, Haue mercie on me, O Lord, the sonne of Dauid: my daughter is miserably vexed with a deuil.
23 Chúa Giê-xu không đáp một lời. Các môn đệ thưa: “Xin Thầy bảo bà ấy đi chỗ khác, vì bà kêu la ồn ào quá.”
But hee answered her not a worde. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him, saying, Sende her away, for she crieth after vs.
24 Chúa Giê-xu quay lại bảo bà: “Ta được sai đến đây để cứu giúp đàn chiên lạc của Đức Chúa Trời—là nhà Ít-ra-ên.”
But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but vnto the lost sheepe of the house of Israel.
25 Nhưng bà đến gần Chúa, quỳ lạy cầu khẩn: “Xin Chúa cứu giúp tôi!”
Yet she came, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, helpe me.
26 Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Đâu có thể lấy bánh của con cái đem ném cho chó ăn!”
And he answered, and said, It is not good to take the childrens bread, and to cast it to whelps.
27 Bà thưa: “Vâng, đúng thế! Nhưng chó chỉ ăn bánh vụn trên bàn chủ rơi xuống!”
But she said, Trueth, Lord: yet in deede the whelpes eate of the crommes, which fall from their masters table.
28 Chúa Giê-xu nói với bà: “Bà là người có đức tin lớn. Lời cầu xin của bà đã được chấp thuận.” Ngay lúc đó, con gái bà được lành.
Then Iesus answered, and saide vnto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee, as thou desirest. And her daughter was made whole at that houre.
29 Chúa Giê-xu đi dọc theo bờ biển Ga-li-lê, lên ngồi trên ngọn đồi.
So Iesus went away from thence, and came neere vnto the sea of Galile, and went vp into a mountaine and sate downe there.
30 Một đoàn dân đông mang theo người què, người khiếm thị, người câm, người tàn tật, và các bệnh khác đem đặt trước Chúa Giê-xu. Chúa chữa lành tất cả.
And great multitudes came vnto him, hauing with them, halt, blinde, dumme, maymed, and many other, and cast them downe at Iesus feete, and he healed them.
31 Thật là một cảnh tượng lạ lùng: Người câm nói, người què đi, người khiếm thị thấy rõ, người bệnh tật được chữa lành. Ai nấy đều ngạc nhiên sững sờ, rồi ngợi tôn Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
In so much that the multitude wondered, to see the dumme speake, the maimed whole, the halt to goe, and the blinde to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Chúa Giê-xu gọi các môn đệ đến gần bảo: “Ta thương đoàn dân này. Họ ở đây với Ta đã ba ngày, thức ăn đã hết. Ta không muốn để họ nhịn đói ra về, vì có thể bị ngất xỉu giữa đường.”
Then Iesus called his disciples vnto him, and said, I haue compassion on this multitude, because they haue continued with mee already three dayes, and haue nothing to eate: and I wil not let them depart fasting, least they faint in the way.
33 Các môn đệ thưa: “Giữa chỗ hoang vắng, chúng ta tìm bánh đâu cho đủ để đãi đoàn dân đông đảo này?”
And his disciples saide vnto him, Whence should we get so much bread in the wildernes, as should suffice so great a multitude!
34 Chúa Giê-xu hỏi: “Các con có bao nhiêu bánh?” Họ đáp: “Thưa, còn bảy ổ bánh và mấy con cá nhỏ.”
And Iesus said vnto them, How many loaues haue ye? And they said, Seuen, and a few litle fishes.
35 Chúa bảo dân chúng ngồi xuống đất.
Then he commanded the multitude to sit downe on the ground,
36 Ngài cầm bảy ổ bánh và mấy con cá, tạ ơn Đức Chúa Trời, rồi bẻ ra trao cho môn đệ đem phân phát cho đoàn dân.
And tooke the seuen loaues, and the fishes, and gaue thankes, and brake them, and gaue to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 Sau khi tất cả đều ăn no, người ta lượm thức ăn thừa, đựng đầy bảy giỏ.
And they did all eate, and were sufficed: and they tooke vp of the fragments that remained, seuen baskets full.
38 Số người ăn bánh được 4.000, chưa kể phụ nữ, thiếu nhi.
And they that had eaten, were foure thousand men, beside women, and litle children.
39 Chúa Giê-xu cho dân chúng ra về, còn Ngài xuống thuyền đến vùng Ma-ga-đan.
Then Iesus sent away the multitude, and tooke ship, and came into the partes of Magdala.
