Lu-ca 4
1 Chúa Giê-xu đầy dẫy Chúa Thánh Linh, từ bờ sông Giô-đan trở về, liền được Chúa Thánh Linh đưa vào hoang mạc,
THEN Jesus full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the spirit into the wilderness,
2 nơi ma quỷ cám dỗ trong bốn mươi ngày. Chúa nhịn ăn suốt thời gian ấy, nên Ngài đói.
being tempted forty days by the devil; and did eat nothing during those days: and when they were ended, afterwards he was hungry.
3 Sau đó ma quỷ đến cám dỗ: “Thầy cứ hóa đá thành bánh mà ăn! Có thế mới chứng tỏ Thầy là Con Đức Chúa Trời!”
And the devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf.
4 Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Thánh Kinh chép: ‘Người ta sống không phải chỉ nhờ bánh.’”
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”
5 Sau đó, Sa-tan đem Chúa lên cao, chỉ cho Ngài xem tất cả các nước trên thế giới trong giây phút.
And the devil taking him up into an exceeding high mountain, displayed before him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time:
6 Và hứa: “Tôi sẽ cho Thầy tất cả uy quyền và vinh quang của các nước đó. Vì tất cả đã giao cho tôi, tôi muốn cho ai tùy ý.
and the devil said unto him, I will give thee all this authority, and the glory of these; for to me it is delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I give it.
7 Tôi sẽ cho Thầy tất cả, nếu Thầy thờ lạy tôi.”
If therefore thou wilt worship before me, all shall be thine.
8 Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Thánh Kinh dạy: ‘Ngươi chỉ thờ lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi, và chỉ phụng sự Ngài mà thôi.’”
And Jesus answering him, said, Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and to him alone shalt thou pay divine honour.”
9 Sa-tan đưa Ngài đến Giê-ru-sa-lem, đặt Ngài trên nóc Đền Thờ mà xúi giục: “Nếu Thầy là Con Đức Chúa Trời, Thầy cứ lao mình xuống đi!
And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a wing of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thy self down from hence:
10 Vì Thánh Kinh chép: ‘Đức Chúa Trời sẽ sai thiên sứ bảo vệ Con.
for it is written, “He shall give his angels a charge over thee, to guard thee safely;
11 Và đưa tay nâng đỡ Con, cho chân Con khỏi vấp vào đá.’”
and that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
12 Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Thánh Kinh cũng dạy: ‘Ngươi đừng thách thức Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi!’”
And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
13 Sau khi ma quỷ cám dỗ Chúa Giê-xu đủ cách, nó tạm lìa Ngài.
And when the devil had closed all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 Chúa Giê-xu trở về xứ Ga-li-lê, đầy quyền năng Chúa Thánh Linh. Danh tiếng Ngài đồn ra khắp vùng.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a report went out into all the region round about concerning him.
15 Ngài giảng dạy trong các hội đường, được mọi người ca ngợi.
And he taught in their synagogues, being universally admired.
16 Chúa Giê-xu về Na-xa-rét, nơi Ngài sống từ thuở bé, Chúa thường vào hội đường vào ngày Sa-bát và đứng dậy đọc Thánh Kinh.
And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up; and he went, according to his usual custom, into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and rose up to read.
17 Người ta trao sách tiên tri Y-sai, Ngài mở ra đọc:
And there was given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah: and unrolling the volume, he found the passage where it is written,
18 “Thánh Linh Chúa ngự trên tôi, Chúa ủy nhiệm tôi truyền giảng Phúc Âm cho người nghèo. Ngài sai tôi loan tin tù nhân được giải thoát, người khiếm thị được sáng, người bị áp bức được tự do,
“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the work whereunto he hath anointed me; he hath sent me to preach glad tidings to the poor; to heal the contrite in heart; to proclaim liberty to the captives; and restore sight to the blind; to send forth the bruised free from bonds;
19 và Chúa Hằng Hữu sẵn sàng ban ân lành cho người tin nhận Ngài.”
to publish the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20 Chúa gấp sách trả cho người giúp việc hội đường và ngồi xuống. Mọi người chăm chú nhìn Ngài.
And rolling up the volume, he gave it to the attendant officer, and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were attentively fixed on him.
21 Chúa mở lời: “Hôm nay lời Thánh Kinh mà các người vừa nghe đó đã được ứng nghiệm!”
And he began to say to them, To day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.
22 Cả hội đường đều tán thưởng và ngạc nhiên về những lời dạy cao sâu của Chúa. Họ hỏi nhau: “Ông ấy có phải con Giô-sép không?”
And all concurred in their testimony to him, and marvelled at the gracious words which proceeded from his mouth. And they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
23 Chúa đáp: “Hẳn các ông muốn áp dụng tục ngữ này cho tôi: ‘Y sĩ, hãy chữa lành cho mình đi!’ Ý các ông là ‘Hãy làm phép lạ tại quê nhà như đã thực hiện tại Ca-bê-na-um.’
And he said unto them, Ye will probably say to me this parable, Physician, heal thyself! the works which we have heard to have been performed by thee at Capernaum, do the like here in thy own country.
24 Nhưng tôi cho các ông biết, chẳng có tiên tri nào được quê hương mình hoan nghênh cả.
But he said, Verily, I say unto you, that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
25 Thật thế, ngày xưa khi người Ít-ra-ên bị hạn hán ba năm rưỡi và nạn đói lớn, dù trong nước có rất nhiều quả phụ,
Now I tell you of a certainty, that there were many widows in the days of Elias, in Israel, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, so that a grievous famine was upon all the land.
26 nhưng tiên tri Ê-li được Đức Chúa Trời sai đến nhà một quả phụ nước ngoài tại Sa-rép-ta, xứ Si-đôn.
And unto none of them was Elias sent, but unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, to a widow woman.
27 Cũng vậy, vào đời tiên tri Ê-li-sê, nhiều người Ít-ra-ên mắc bệnh phong hủi, nhưng chỉ có Na-a-man, người Sy-ri được chữa lành.”
And many lepers were in Israel in the days of the prophet Elisha, and no one of them was cleansed, but Naaman the Syrian.
28 Nghe Chúa dạy, mọi người trong hội đường đều giận dữ,
And they were all filled with rage in the synagogue, when they heard these observations:
29 xông lại kéo Ngài ra ngoài thành, đẩy Ngài lên sườn núi, định xô Ngài xuống vực thẳm.
and rising up, dragged him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill, on which their city was built, in order to cast him down headlong:
30 Nhưng Chúa lách qua đám đông, đi nơi khác.
but he passing through the midst of them, went away.
31 Chúa trở lại thành Ca-bê-na-um, xứ Ga-li-lê, và Ngài vào hội đường giảng dạy nhằm ngày Sa-bát.
And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbath.
32 Dân chúng rất ngạc nhiên, vì lời Chúa đầy uy quyền.
And they were struck with astonishment at his teaching; for his discourse was with authority.
33 Trong hội đường, một người bị quỷ ám kêu lên:
And there was in the synagogue a man, who had a spirit of an unclean devil, and he roared out with a great cry,
34 “Giê-xu người Na-xa-rét! Ngài định làm gì chúng tôi? Có phải Ngài đến tiêu diệt chúng tôi không? Tôi biết Ngài là Đấng Thánh của Đức Chúa Trời!”
saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, Jesus the Nazarean? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 Chúa Giê-xu quở trách quỷ. Ngài phán: “Im đi! Hãy ra khỏi người này.” Quỷ vật nhào anh ấy trước mặt mọi người, rồi ra khỏi, không làm thiệt hại gì.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Stop thy mouth, and come out of him. And the devil throwing him down into the midst, came out of him, doing him no injury.
36 Ai nấy kinh ngạc bảo nhau: “Lời Ngài đầy uy quyền đến nỗi quỷ cũng phải tuân lệnh.”
And amazement seized on all present, and they spake one to another, saying, What a word is this? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 Việc Chúa đuổi quỷ được đồn ra khắp xứ.
And the fame of him went forth into all the adjacent region.
38 Rời hội đường, Chúa Giê-xu đến nhà Si-môn. Bà gia Si-môn đang sốt nặng, mọi người xin Ngài chữa cho bà.
Then rising up out of the synagogue, he came into the house of Simon: and Simon’s mother-in-law was seized with a violent fever, and they besought him on her behalf.
39 Chúa đến bên giường quở cơn sốt; lập tức bà hết sốt, đứng dậy tiếp đãi mọi người.
And standing over her, he charged the fever to depart; and it left her: and immediately she arose, and waited upon them.
40 Lúc mặt trời lặn, người ta đem tất cả người bệnh tật đến gần Chúa Giê-xu. Ngài đặt tay chữa lành từng người.
So when the sun was set, all who had any indisposed with various diseases, brought them to him; and laying his hands severally on each of them, he cured them.
41 Chúa cũng đuổi quỷ cho nhiều người. Các quỷ bị trục xuất thường kêu lớn: “Ngài là Con Đức Chúa Trời!” Nhưng Chúa quở trách, không cho chúng lên tiếng, vì chúng biết Ngài là Đấng Mết-si-a.
And devils also went out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Messiah the Son of God. And rebuking them, he suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was the Messiah.
42 Sáng hôm sau, Chúa Giê-xu đến nơi vắng vẻ. Dân chúng đi tìm Ngài khắp nơi. Tìm gặp Chúa, họ nài xin Ngài ở lại, đừng rời khỏi xứ họ.
And as the day was coming on, he went forth and departed into a desert place: and the multitude sought him out, and came to him, and would have detained him that he should not leave them.
43 Nhưng Chúa đáp: “Ta còn phải truyền giảng Phúc Âm Nước của Đức Chúa Trời tại nhiều nơi khác nữa. Đó là lý do Ta được sai đến trần gian.”
But he said unto them, I must preach the glad tidings of the kingdom of heaven in other cities also: for on this service am I sent.
44 Vậy Ngài tiếp tục đi khắp xứ Giu-đê, giảng dạy trong các hội đường.
And he continued preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
