Lê-vi 17

1 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

2 “Hãy truyền lại cho A-rôn, các con A-rôn, và toàn dân Ít-ra-ên những luật sau. Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo.

Speake vnto Aaron, and to his sonnes, and to all the children of Israel, and say vnto them, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,

3 Người Ít-ra-ên nào giết một con bò, chiên hay dê làm sinh tế dâng lên Chúa ở trong nơi đóng trại hay bên ngoài trại,

Whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel that killeth a bullocke, or lambe, or goate in the hoste, or that killeth it out of the hoste,

4 mà không đem đến cửa Đền Tạm để dâng sinh tế lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, người ấy mắc tội gây đổ máu và bị truất khỏi cộng đồng dân chúng.

And bringeth it not vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation to offer an offring vnto the Lord before the Tabernacle of the Lord, blood shalbe imputed vnto that man: he hath shed blood, wherefore that man shall be cut off from among his people.

5 Luật này nhằm chấm dứt việc người Ít-ra-ên giết sinh tế ở ngoài đồng, và buộc họ đem sinh tế đến cửa Đền Tạm cho thầy tế lễ. Sinh tế sẽ bị giết tại đó để dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu.

Therefore the children of Israel shall bring their offrings, which they would offer abroad in the fielde, and present the vnto ye Lord at the doore of the Tabernacle of ye Congregation by ye Priest, and offer them for peace offrings vnto the Lord.

6 Thầy tế lễ sẽ rảy máu trên bàn thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu, tại cửa Đền Tạm, đốt mỡ dâng hương thơm lên Chúa Hằng Hữu.

Then the Priest shall sprinkle the blood vpon the Altar of the Lord before the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and burne the fat for a sweete sauour vnto the Lord.

7 Như thế, họ sẽ không còn giết thú vật cúng tế các thần dâm dục và liên lạc với chúng. Luật này áp dụng đời đời qua các thế hệ.

And they shall no more offer their offerings vnto deuils, after whom they haue gone a whoring: this shalbe an ordinance for euer vnto them in their generations.

8 Nhắc cho họ nhớ luôn rằng, dù người Ít-ra-ên hay người ngoại kiều, nếu ai dâng tế lễ thiêu hay dâng một sinh tế

Also thou shalt say vnto them, whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which soiourne among them, that offreth a burnt offring or sacrifice,

9 tại một nơi nào khác, không phải tại cửa Đền Tạm nơi dâng lễ vật lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, thì người ấy phải bị trục xuất khỏi cộng đồng dân chúng.

And bringeth it not vnto ye doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation to offer it vnto the Lord, euen that man shall be cut off from his people.

10 Nếu một người Ít-ra-ên hay ngoại kiều ăn bất kỳ máu gì, Ta sẽ chống đối người ấy và trục xuất người ấy khỏi cộng đồng.

Likewise whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that soiourne among them, that eateth any blood, I will euen set my face against that person that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

11 Ta cho các ngươi máu để rảy trên bàn thờ, chuộc tội linh hồn mình, vì máu tiềm tàng sức sống của cơ thể sinh vật. Chính sự sống của sinh vật ở trong máu, nên máu được dùng để chuộc tội.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I haue giuen it vnto you to offer vpon the altar, to make an atonement for your soules: for this blood shall make an atonement for the soule.

12 Vì thế, Ta đã cấm người Ít-ra-ên và người ngoại kiều không được ăn máu.

Therefore I saide vnto ye children of Israel, None of you shall eate blood: neither the stranger that soiourneth among you, shall eate blood.

13 Trường hợp một người Ít-ra-ên hay ngoại kiều đi săn, giết một con thú hay một con chim để ăn thịt, người ấy phải trút cho ráo hết máu và lấy đất lấp máu lại.

Moreouer whosoeuer he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that soiourne among the, which by hunting taketh any beast or foule that may be eaten, he shall powre out the blood thereof, and couer it with dust:

14 Vậy, máu là sức sống của các sinh vật. Do đó Ta đã cấm người Ít-ra-ên không được ăn máu của bất kỳ sinh vật nào, vì sự sống của một sinh vật là máu của nó. Ai ăn máu, sẽ bị trục xuất.

For ye life of all flesh is his blood, it is ioyned with his life: therefore I sayd vnto the children of Israel, Ye shall eate the blood of no flesh: for the life of al flesh is the blood thereof: whosoeuer eateth it, shalbe cut off.

15 Người nào, dù bản xứ hay ngoại kiều, ăn một con vật chết hoặc vì bị thú rừng cắn xé, phải giặt quần áo, phải tắm, bị ô uế cho đến tối, sau đó mới được sạch.

And euery person that eateth it which dyeth alone, or that which is torne with beastes, whether it be one of the same countrey or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and wash himselfe in water, and be vncleane vnto the euen: after he shalbe cleane.

16 Nếu người ấy không giặt áo và không tắm, thì sẽ mang tội.”

But if he wash them not, nor wash his flesh, then he shall beare his iniquitie.
