Các Thủ Lãnh 11
1 Bấy giờ có Giép-thê, người Ga-la-át, nổi danh là một dũng sĩ. Cha ông là người Ga-la-át, nhưng mẹ vốn là một kỹ nữ.
And Jephthah the Gileadite he was a mighty [man] of strength and he [was] [the] son of a woman a prostitute and he fathered Gilead Jephthah.
2 Vợ của Ga-la-át cũng sinh được nhiều con trai; và khi những người này lớn lên, liền đuổi Giép-thê đi. Họ nói: “Mày không được chia tài sản của cha để lại, vì mày là con khác mẹ.”
And she bore [the] wife of Gilead to him sons and they grew up [the] sons of the wife and they drove out Jephthah and they said to him not you will have an inheritance in [the] house of father our for [are] [the] son of a woman another you.
3 Vì vậy, Giép-thê phải lánh xa anh em, đến ở trong đất Tóp. Một số du đãng kết hợp lại, theo ông.
And he fled Jephthah [away] from before brothers his and he dwelt in [the] land of Tob and they joined themselves to Jephthah men unprincipled and they went out with him.
4 Vào lúc ấy, người Am-môn bắt đầu chống nghịch người Ít-ra-ên.
And it was from days and they fought [the] people of Ammon with Israel.
5 Khi người Am-môn tấn công, các trưởng lão xứ Ga-la-át đến Tóp để mời Giép-thê về.
And it was just when they fought [the] people of Ammon with Israel and they went [the] elders of Gilead to fetch Jephthah from [the] land of Tob.
6 Các trưởng lão đề nghị: “Xin hãy làm thủ lãnh chúng tôi. Xin giúp chúng tôi chống lại người Am-môn!”
And they said to Jephthah come! and you will become of us a commander so let us fight against [the] people of Ammon.
7 Nhưng Giép-thê nói với họ: “Các anh không phải là người ghét tôi, rồi đuổi tôi ra khỏi nhà cha tôi sao? Nay gặp khó khăn, còn tìm tôi làm gì?”
And he said Jephthah to [the] elders of Gilead ¿ not you did you hate me and did you drive out? me from [the] house of father my and why? have you come to me now just when [is] distress to you.
8 Các trưởng lão đáp: “Chính vì thế chúng tôi mới đến với anh. Nếu anh lãnh đạo chúng tôi trong cuộc chiến cống quân Am-môn, chúng tôi sẽ tôn anh lên cai trị người Ga-la-át.”
And they said [the] elders of Gilead to Jephthah therefore now we have returned to you and you will come with us and you will fight against [the] people of Ammon and you will become of us chief of all [the] inhabitants of Gilead.
9 Giép-thê hỏi lại các trưởng lão: “Tôi xin hỏi thẳng. Nếu tôi về với các anh và nếu Chúa Hằng Hữu cho tôi đánh thắng quân Am-môn, có phải các anh sẽ tôn tôi lên cai trị toàn dân phải không?”
And he said Jephthah to [the] elders of Gilead if [are] bringing back you me to fight against [the] people of Ammon and he will deliver up Yahweh them before me I I will become of you chief.
10 Các trưởng lão đáp: “Có Chúa Hằng Hữu chứng giám. Chúng tôi xin giữ đúng lời anh vừa nói.”
And they said [the] elders of Gilead to Jephthah Yahweh he will be hearing between us if not according to word your so we will do.
11 Vậy Giép-thê cùng đi với các trưởng lão Ga-la-át, và dân chúng đưa ông lên cai trị họ và làm tướng chỉ huy quân đội. Tại Mích-pa, Giép-thê lặp lại những lời ông giao kết với các trưởng lão Ga-la-át trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And he went Jephthah with [the] elders of Gilead and they made the people him over them into chief and into commander and he spoke Jephthah all words his before Yahweh in Mizpah.
12 Giép-thê sai sứ giả đi chất vấn vua Am-môn: “Tại sao vua đem quân tấn công đất nước tôi?”
And he sent Jephthah messengers to [the] king of [the] people of Ammon saying what? [is] to me and to you that you have come to me to wage war against land my.
13 Vua Am-môn trả lời sứ giả của Giép-thê: “Khi Ít-ra-ên ra khỏi Ai Cập, họ đã chiếm đất của ta từ Sông Ạt-nôn đến Sông Gia-bốc và Giô-đan. Bây giờ hãy trả đất lại cho chúng tôi trong tinh thần hòa hiếu.”
And he said [the] king of [the] people of Ammon to [the] messengers of Jephthah that it took Israel land my when came up it from Egypt from [the] Arnon and to the Jabbok and to the Jordan and therefore restore! them in peace.
14 Giép-thê lại sai sứ giả nói với vua Am-môn:
And he repeated again Jephthah and he sent messengers to [the] king of [the] people of Ammon.
15 “Đây là điều Giép-thê nói: Ít-ra-ên không cướp đất của Mô-áp và Am-môn.
And he said to him thus he says Jephthah not it has taken Israel [the] land of Moab and [the] land of [the] people of Ammon.
16 Nhưng, sau khi ra khỏi Ai Cập, người Ít-ra-ên băng hoang mạc, qua Biển Đỏ và đến Ca-đe.
That when came up they from Egypt and it went Israel in the wilderness to [the] sea of reed[s] and it came Kadesh towards.
17 Tại Ca-đe, Ít-ra-ên sai sứ giả xin vua Ê-đôm cho phép họ đi băng qua đất vua này, nhưng bị từ chối. Họ lại xin vua Mô-áp cũng không được, nên Ít-ra-ên phải ở lại Ca-đe.
And it sent Israel messengers - to [the] king of Edom - saying let me pass please in land your and not he listened [the] king of Edom and also to [the] king of Moab it sent and not he was willing and it remained Israel at Kadesh.
18 Về sau, họ đi vòng đất Ê-đôm và Mô-áp, trong hoang mạc, đến cạnh biên giới phía đông đất Mô-áp, bên Sông Ạt-nôn. Nhưng họ không hề băng qua sông Ạt-nôn của Mô-áp, vì Ạt-nôn là biên giới của Mô-áp.
And it went in the wilderness and it went around [the] land of Edom and [the] land of Moab and it came from [the] rising of [the] sun of [the] land of Moab and they encamped! on [the] other side of [the] Arnon and not they went in [the] territory of Moab for [the] Arnon [was] [the] border of Moab.
19 Lúc ấy Ít-ra-ên sai sứ đến Hết-bôn xin Si-hôn, vua A-mô-rít, cho họ đi băng qua đất vua này.
And it sent Israel messengers to Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] [the] king of Heshbon and it said to him Israel let us pass please in land your to own place my.
20 Chẳng những không cho, vì không tin Ít-ra-ên, Vua Si-hôn còn thu thập toàn lực tại Gia-xa, đánh Ít-ra-ên.
And not he trusted Sihon Israel to pass in territory his and he gathered Sihon all people his and they encamped at Jahaz and he fought with Israel.
21 Nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu, là Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, đã cho họ thắng Vua Si-hôn. Vậy nên Ít-ra-ên chiếm đất A-mô-rít,
And he gave Yahweh [the] God of Israel Sihon and all people his in [the] hand of Israel and they defeated them and it took possession of Israel all [the] land of the Amorite[s] [who] dwelt of the land that.
22 từ Sông Ạt-nôn đến Sông Gia-bốc, và từ hoang mạc phía đông đến Giô-đan.
And they took possession of all [the] territory of the Amorite[s] from [the] Arnon and to the Jabbok and from the wilderness and to the Jordan.
23 Nếu Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, lấy đất của người A-mô-rít cho Ít-ra-ên, thì vua có quyền gì lấy lại?
And now Yahweh - [the] God of Israel he has dispossessed the Amorite[s] from before people his Israel and you will you take possession of? it.
24 Vua có từ chối những gì thần Kê-mốt cho vua không? Cũng thế, chúng tôi nhận tất cả đất Chúa Hằng Hữu cho chúng tôi.
¿ Not [that] which he will cause to possess you Chemosh god your it will you take possession of and all that he has dispossessed Yahweh God our from before us it we will take possession of.
25 Ngoài ra, vua có hơn gì Ba-lác, con Xếp-bô, vua Mô-áp không? Vua ấy đâu có dám tranh chấp, chiến đấu với Ít-ra-ên?
And now ¿ really good [are] you more than Balak [the] son of Zippor [the] king of Moab ¿ really did he quarrel with Israel or? ever did he wage war against them.
26 Hơn nữa, Ít-ra-ên đã định cư trong vùng này suốt 300 năm nay, từ Hết-bôn cho đến A-rô-e và dọc Sông Ạt-nôn. Tại sao đợi đến bây giờ vua mới đòi đất?
When dwelt Israel in Heshbon and in daughters its and in Aroer and in daughters its and in all the cities which [were] on [the] sides of [the] Arnon three hundred year[s] and why? not did you recover [them] at the time that.
27 Tóm lại, tôi chẳng có lỗi gì với vua cả. Nhưng vua lại làm điều trái, gây chiến với chúng tôi. Nguyện xin Chúa Hằng Hữu, là Đấng Quan Án, xét xử vụ này giữa Ít-ra-ên và Am-môn.”
And I not I have sinned to you and you [are] doing with me evil by waging war against me may he judge Yahweh the judge this day between [the] people of Israel and between [the] people of Ammon.
28 Nhưng, vua Am-môn không quan tâm đến thông điệp Giép-thê.
And not he listened [the] king of [the] people of Ammon to [the] words of Jephthah which he sent to him.
29 Lúc ấy, Thần của Chúa Hằng Hữu ngự trên Giép-thê, ông kéo quân băng qua đất Ga-la-át và Ma-na-se, vượt thành Mích-pa ở Ga-la-át, và tại đó ông tấn công người Am-môn.
And it was on Jephthah [the] spirit of Yahweh and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and he passed through Mizpah of Gilead and from Mizpah of Gilead he he passed on [the] people of Ammon.
30 Giép-thê khấn nguyện với Chúa Hằng Hữu: “Nếu Chúa cho tôi chiến thắng quân Am-môn,
And he vowed Jephthah a vow to Yahweh and he said certainly [if] you will give [the] people of Ammon in hand my.
31 thì lúc trở về, tôi sẽ dâng tế lễ thiêu lên Chúa bất kỳ người hay vật nào từ trong nhà ra đón tôi trước tiên.”
And it will be whatever comes out which it will come out from [the] doors of house my to meet me when return I in peace from [the] people of Ammon and it will belong to Yahweh and I will offer up it a burnt offering.
32 Vậy Giép-thê lãnh đạo quân mình tấn công quân Am-môn, Chúa Hằng Hữu cho ông chiến thắng.
And he passed on Jephthah to [the] people of Ammon to fight against them (and he gave them *L(abh)*) Yahweh in hand his.
33 Ông tàn phá hai mươi thành từ A-rô-e đến Mi-nít và cho đến tận A-bên Kê-a-mim. Vậy, Ít-ra-ên đánh bại quân Am-môn.
And he defeated them from Aroer and until coming you Minnith twenty citi[es] and to Abel Keramim a defeat great very and they were subdued [the] people of Ammon from before [the] people of Israel.
34 Khi Giép-thê về nhà ở Mích-pa, con gái ông chạy ra đón, vừa đánh trống con, vừa nhảy múa. Cô là con duy nhất của ông; ông không có con trai hay con gái nào khác.
And he came Jephthah Mizpah to house his and there! daughter his [was] coming out to meet him with tambourines and with dancing and only she [was] an only [child] not [belonged] to him from him a son or a daughter.
35 Khi thấy con, ông xé áo mình đang mặc, than thở: “Ôi, con gái ta ơi! Con làm cho cha đau xót vô cùng! Con đặt cha trong tình trạng khó xử quá! Vì cha đã có lời thề nguyện với Chúa Hằng Hữu, cha không thể đổi lại được.”
And it was when saw he her and he tore clothes his and he said alas! O daughter my certainly you have brought low me and you you are among [those who] trouble me and I I have opened mouth my to Yahweh and not I am able to turn back.
36 Cô nói: “Thưa cha, nếu cha đã thề nguyện với Chúa Hằng Hữu, xin cha làm theo lời hứa nguyện, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu đã cho cha chiến thắng quân Am-môn.
And she said to him O father my you have opened mouth your to Yahweh do to me just as it has come out from mouth your after that he did for you Yahweh vengeance from enemies your from [the] people of Ammon.
37 Nhưng xin cho con làm việc này trước: Xin cha cho con hai tháng, để con cùng các bạn lên miền đồi núi, khóc than cho thân phận trinh nữ của con.”
And she said to father her let it be done for me the thing this refrain from me two months so let me go and I will go down on the mountains so I may weep on virginiti my I (and companions my. *Q(K)*)
38 Giép-thê nói: “Được, con cứ đi.” Và như vậy, cô và các bạn gái mình than khóc suốt hai tháng trên các đồi núi.
And he said go and he sent away her two months and she went she and companions her and she wept on virginiti her on the mountains.
39 Sau hai tháng, cô trở về gặp cha. Ông thực hiện lời đã thề nguyện. Như thế, cô sống trọn đời trinh nữ. Từ đó trong Ít-ra-ên có tục lệ,
And it was from [the] end of - two months and she returned to father her and he did to her vow his which he had vowed and she not she had known a man and it was a custom in Israel.
40 hằng năm các thiếu nữ Ít-ra-ên đi khóc than con gái của Giép-thê trong bốn ngày.
From days - days towards they go [the] daughters of Israel to recount for [the] daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in the year.
