1 Phần đất của con cháu Giô-sép có biên giới chạy từ Sông Giô-đan ngang Giê-ri-cô (phía đông của suối Giê-ri-cô) xuyên qua hoang mạc, lên miền đồi núi cho đến Bê-tên.

Then came out the lot, for the sons of Joseph, from the Jordan by Jericho, at the waters of Jericho, eastward, —the desert, going up from Jericho, through the hill country to Bethel;

2 Biên giới này tiếp tục từ Bê-tên chạy đến Lu-xơ, qua A-ta-rốt (thuộc đất người Ạt-kít),

and it goeth out from Bethel towards Luz, —and passeth over unto the boundary of the Archites at Ataroth;

3 xuống phía tây giáp đất người Giáp-lê-ti, cho đến đất Bết-hô-rôn Hạ, Ghê-xe, và dừng lại ở biển.

and descendeth westward, unto the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Bethhoron the nether, and as far as Gezer, —and the extensions thereof are to the sea.

4 Vậy, con cháu Giô-sép gồm đại tộc Ép-ra-im và đại tộc Ma-na-se lãnh phần đất mình.

So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

5 Đất của đại tộc Ép-ra-im có biên giới phía đông chạy từ A-ta-rốt A-đa đến Bết-hô-rôn thượng,

And the boundary of the sons of Ephraim, by their families, was, —yea the boundary of their inheritance on the east, was Ataroth-addar, as far as Beth-horon the upper;

6 và từ đó chạy ra đến biển gặp phía bắc của Mít-mê-thát. Biên giới lại vòng qua phía đông tại Ta-a-nát Si-lô và tiếp tục về phía đông cho đến Gia-nô-a.

and the boundary goeth out westward at Michmethath, on the north, then the boundary bendeth round easward, to Taanath-shiloh, —and passeth by it on the east to Janoah;

7 Từ Gia-nô-a biên giới chạy xuống A-ta-rốt, Na-a-ra, đụng Giê-ri-cô rồi gặp Sông Giô-đan.

and goeth down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, —and toucheth upon Jericho, and goeth out at the Jordan.

8 Từ Tháp-bu-a, biên giới chạy về hướng tây đến Suối Ca-na và chấm dứt ở biển. Đó là sản nghiệp của đại tộc Ép-ra-im.

From Tappuah, runneth the boundary along westward, to the ravine of Kanah, and the extensions thereof are to the sea, —this, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families;

9 Ngoài ra, một số gia đình người Ép-ra-im nhận được mấy thành nằm trong đất của người Ma-na-se và các thôn ấp phụ cận của mấy thành ấy.

together with the cities which were separated for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, —all the cities, with their villages.

10 Tuy nhiên người Ca-na-an ở Ghê-xe không bị đuổi đi, và họ vẫn còn đó, làm nô lệ cho người Ép-ra-im cho đến ngày nay.

But they did not dispossess the Canaanites who were dwelling in Gazer, —so the Canaanites have dwelt in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and have become tributary servants.
