1 Thời gian trôi qua, Giô-suê đã cao tuổi. Chúa Hằng Hữu phán với ông: “Tuổi con đã cao, đất chưa chiếm còn nhiều.

This is the remaining land: the territory of all the Philistines and all the Geshurites,

in the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, all the way to Aphek on the border with the Amorites,

as well as the land of the Gebalites and the Lebanon area from the town of Baalgad to the slopes of Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath,
6 các vùng núi non của người Si-đôn từ Li-ban cho đến Mích-rê-phốt Ma-im. Chính Ta sẽ đuổi các dân này ra, họ sẽ bị Ít-ra-ên đánh bại. Con sẽ theo lời Ta dặn, chia đất cho người Ít-ra-ên.
and the those who live in the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, including all the land of the Sidonians. I myself will drive them out ahead of the Israelites. Just allocate the land to Israel for them to own, as I have commanded you.

So divide this land among the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh for them to own.”
8 Trước đó Môi-se, đầy tớ Chúa, đã chia đất bên bờ phía đông Giô-đan cho đại tộc Ru-bên, đại tộc Gát, và nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se.
The other half of the tribe of Manasseh, and the tribes of Reuben and Gad, had already received their land grant on the east side of the Jordan, as allotted to them by Moses, the servant of the Lord.

It stretched from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon valley, from the town in the middle of the valley, and all the plateau of Medeba, up to Dibon;
10 Đất này cũng gồm các thành của Si-hôn, vua A-mô-rít, có kinh đô ở Hết-bôn, cho đến biên giới người Am-môn;
and all the towns that belonged to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, up to the border with the Ammonites.
11 gồm cả đất Ga-la-át; đất của người Ghê-sua, người Ma-a-cát; vùng Núi Hẹt-môn; đất Ba-san và Sanh-ca;
In addition it included Gilead, the land of the Geshurites and Maacathites, all of Mount Hermon, and all of Bashan as far as Salecah,
12 đất của Óc, vua Ba-san, người còn sót lại của dân Rê-pha-im, có kinh đô ở Ách-ta-rốt và Ết-rê-i. Vua này là vua người khổng lồ cuối cùng còn lại, vì Môi-se đã đánh đuổi họ đi.
as well as all the land of the kingdom of Og of Bashan, who had ruled in Ashtaroth and Edrei. He was one of the last of the Rephaites. Moses had defeated them and driven them out.
13 Còn người Ghê-sua và Ma-a-cát không bị Ít-ra-ên đuổi đi nên cho đến nay họ vẫn sống chung với người Ít-ra-ên trong địa phương này.
But the Israelites had not driven out the Geshurites or the Maacathites, who still live among them to this very day.
14 Khi chia đất cho các đại tộc, Môi-se đã không chia cho người Lê-vi, vì phần của họ là các lễ vật do người Ít-ra-ên đem dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên. Ngài đã truyền cho họ như thế.
Moses did not allocate any land for the Levites to own. Instead they were allotted the offerings made by fire to the Lord, the God of Israel, as the Lord had promised them.
15 Môi-se chia cho đại tộc Ru-bên một phần đất tương xứng với số gia đình của đại tộc này.
This was the land that Moses allotted to the tribe of Reuben, by families:
16 Đất của họ chạy từ A-rô-e trên triền thung lũng Ạt-nôn, gồm có thành ở giữa thung lũng này và cao nguyên Mê-đê-ba
Their territory stretched from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon valley, from the town in the middle of the valley, and all the plateau of Medeba;
17 cho đến Hết-bôn với các thành trong đồng bằng: Đi-bôn, Ba-mốt Ba-anh, Bết-ba-anh-mê-ôn,
Heshbon and all associated towns on the plateau—Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,
18 Gia-xa, Kê-đê-mốt, Mê-phát,
Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
19 Ki-ri-a-ta-im, Síp-ma, Xê-rết-sa-ha trên ngọn đồi đứng giữa thung lũng,
Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth-shahar, on a hill in the valley,
20 Bết Phê-o, triền núi Phích-ga, và Bết-giê-si-mốt.
Beth-peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth-jeshimoth—

all the towns of the plateau and all the kingdom of Sihon, the Amorite king, who ruled in Heshbon. He was defeated by Moses, as well as the Midianite leaders Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, princes who lived in the kingdom and who were allied to Sihon.
22 Lúc ấy người Ít-ra-ên cũng giết luôn thuật sĩ Ba-la-am, con của Bê-ô.
At the same time the Israelites killed Balaam, son of Beor, the fortune-teller, along with the others who were slaughtered.
23 Sông Giô-đan là biên giới phía tây của đất Ru-bên. Vậy, người Ru-bên chia nhau chiếm hữu các thành với các thôn ấp phụ cận trong giới hạn đất mình.
The Jordan was the boundary for the tribe of Reuben. This was the land, the towns and the villages, allotted to the tribe of Reuben, by families.
24 Môi-se chia cho đại tộc Gát một phần đất tương xứng với số gia đình của đại tộc này.
This was the land that Moses allotted to the tribe of Gad, by families:

Their territory was Jazer, all the towns of Gilead, and half of the land of the Ammonites up to Aroer, near Rabbah;
26 và từ Hết-bôn đến Ra-mát Mít-bê, Bê-tô-nim, từ Ma-ha-na-im đến biên giới Đê-bia;
stretching from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the Debir region.
27 các thành trong thung lũng: Bết Ha-ram, Bết Nim-ra, Su-cốt, Xa-phôn; phần đất còn lại của Si-hôn, vua Hết-bôn; và đất dọc theo Sông Giô-đan bên bờ phía đông, cho đến biển Ki-nê-rết. Sông này là biên giới phía tây.
In the Jordan valley lay Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon. The boundary ran along the Jordan up to the bottom end of the sea of Kinnereth and then ran east.
28 Người Gát chia nhau chiếm hữu các thành với các thôn ấp phụ cận theo từng gia tộc trong giới hạn đất mình.
This was the land, the towns and the villages, allotted to the tribe of Gad, by families.
29 Môi-se cũng chia cho phân nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se một phần đất tương xứng với số gia đình của họ.
This was the land that Moses allotted to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is half of the tribe of the descendants of Manasseh, by families:

Their territory stretched from Manahaim through the whole of Bashan, all the kingdom of Og, and all the towns of Jair in Bashan—sixty in all.
31 phân nửa đất Ga-la-át; các thành của Óc, vua Ba-san là Ách-ta-rốt, và Ết-rê-i. Vậy các con cháu Ma-ki gồm phân nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se chia nhau chiếm hữu phần đất này.
Also included was Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the towns of king Og in Bashan. This was the land allotted to the descendants of Machir, son of Manasseh, for half of them, by families.
32 Đó là cách Môi-se phân phối đất đai bên bờ phía đông Sông Giô-đan. Lúc ấy Ít-ra-ên đang ở trong đồng bằng Mô-áp đối diện Giê-ri-cô.
These were the allocations that Moses made when he was in the plains of Moab, on the other side of the Jordan, east of Jericho.
33 Môi-se không chia cho đại tộc Lê-vi phần đất nào cả, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên là phần của Lê-vi, như Ngài đã bảo họ.
However, Moses did not allot any land to the Levites, for the Lord, the God of Israel, had promised them that he would be their allocation.
