1 Sáng Chúa Nhật, lúc trời còn tờ mờ, Ma-ri Ma-đơ-len đến viếng mộ Chúa và thấy tảng đá lấp cửa mộ đã lăn qua một bên.
Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene comes early, while it was still darkness, to the sepulcher, and sees the stone taken away from the sepulcher.
2 Cô vội chạy và tìm Si-môn Phi-e-rơ và môn đệ Chúa Giê-xu yêu. Cô báo tin: “Người ta đã dời thi hài Chúa Giê-xu khỏi mộ, không biết họ đặt Ngài tại đâu!”
Therefore she runs and comes to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and says to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 Phi-e-rơ và môn đệ kia liền chạy đến mộ.
Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the sepulcher.
4 Cả hai cùng chạy, nhưng môn đệ kia chạy nhanh hơn Phi-e-rơ, nên đến mộ trước.
And the two men ran together, and the other disciple ran ahead quicker than Peter and came first to the sepulcher.
5 Anh cúi xuống nhìn vào mộ, thấy vải liệm nhưng không dám vào.
And after stooping down, he sees the linen cloths lying, yet he entered not.
6 Si-môn Phi-e-rơ đến sau, bước vào trong mộ, thấy vải liệm còn đó,
Simon Peter therefore comes following him, and he entered into the sepulcher. And he sees the linen cloths lying,
7 tấm khăn trùm đầu Chúa Giê-xu thì cuốn lại để một bên, không nằm chung với vải liệm.
and the face cloth that was on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but wrapped up in one place separately.
8 Môn đệ đến mộ trước cũng theo vào, anh nhìn thấy và tin—
Therefore then the other disciple who came first to the sepulcher, also entered in, and he saw and believed.
9 vì đến lúc ấy, các môn đệ chưa hiểu lời Thánh Kinh nói Chúa Giê-xu sẽ sống lại từ cõi chết.
For they had not yet known the scripture that he must rise from the dead.
10 Rồi hai môn đệ trở về nhà.
So the disciples departed again to themselves.
11 Ma-ri đứng bên mộ mà khóc, nước mắt đầm đìa, cô cúi xuống nhìn trong mộ.
But Mary had stood outside near the sepulcher weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped down to the sepulcher.
12 Cô thấy hai thiên sứ mặc áo trắng, một vị ngồi phía đầu, một vị ngồi phía chân nơi Chúa Giê-xu đã nằm.
And she sees two agents in white, sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus was lain.
13 Hai thiên sứ hỏi: “Tại sao cô khóc?” Cô đáp: “Vì người ta dời thi hài Chúa tôi đi mất, tôi không biết họ để Ngài tại đâu!”
And those men say to her, Woman, why weep thou? She says to them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
14 Nói xong, cô quay đầu nhìn lại, thấy có người đứng sau lưng. Đó là Chúa Giê-xu, nhưng cô không nhận ra Ngài.
And having said these things, she turned backward, and sees Jesus standing. And she had not known that it is Jesus.
15 Chúa Giê-xu hỏi: “Tại sao cô khóc? Cô tìm ai?” Cô tưởng là người làm vườn nên dò hỏi: “Thưa ông, nếu ông có đem thi hài Chúa đi đâu, xin làm ơn cho tôi biết để tôi đem về!”
Jesus says to her, Woman, why weep thou? Whom seek thou? That woman, supposing that he is the gardener, says to him, Sir, if thou have taken him, tell me where thou have laid him, and I will take him away.
16 Chúa Giê-xu gọi: “Ma-ri!” Cô xoay hẳn người lại, mừng rỡ kêu lên: “Ra-bu-ni!” (tiếng Hê-bơ-rơ nghĩa là “Thầy”).
Jesus says to her, Mary. After turning around, that woman says to him, Rabboni, which says, Teacher.
17 Chúa Giê-xu phán: “Đừng cầm giữ Ta, vì Ta chưa lên cùng Cha. Nhưng hãy đi tìm anh em Ta, nói với họ rằng: ‘Ta lên cùng Cha Ta cũng là Cha của các con, cùng Đức Chúa Trời Ta cũng là Đức Chúa Trời của các con.’”
Jesus says to her, Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brothers, and say to them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.
18 Ma-ri Ma-đơ-len đi tìm các môn đệ khác và nói với họ: “Tôi vừa gặp Chúa!” Rồi cô thuật lại mọi điều Ngài dạy.
Mary Magdalene comes informing the disciples that she has seen the Lord, and he spoke these things to her.
19 Ngay tối hôm ấy, các môn đệ họp mặt với nhau, cửa phòng đóng thật chặt, vì họ sợ các lãnh đạo Do Thái. Thình lình, Chúa Giê-xu đến đứng giữa họ! Chúa phán: “Bình an cho các con.”
Therefore being evening that day, the first day of the week, and the doors having been shut where the disciples were who assembled because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and says to them, Peace to you.
20 Nói xong, Chúa đưa sườn và tay cho họ xem. Được gặp Chúa, các môn đệ vô cùng mừng rỡ!
And having said this, he showed them his hands and side. His disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
21 Chúa Giê-xu phán tiếp: “Bình an cho các con. Cha đã sai Ta cách nào, Ta cũng sai các con cách ấy.”
Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.
22 Rồi Chúa hà hơi trên các môn đệ và phán: “Hãy tiếp nhận Chúa Thánh Linh.
And after saying this, he breathed on them, and says to them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit.
23 Các con tha tội cho ai, người ấy sẽ được tha tội. Các con buộc tội cho ai, người ấy sẽ bị buộc tội.”
If ye forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them. If ye retain of any, they are retained.
24 Một trong mười hai môn đệ, có Thô-ma (biệt danh là Song Sinh), không có mặt lúc Chúa Giê-xu đến.
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 Các môn đệ kia báo tin: “Chúng tôi mới gặp Chúa!” Nhưng Thô-ma đáp: “Tôi không tin trừ khi chính mắt tôi thấy dấu đinh trên bàn tay Chúa, tay tôi sờ vết thương, và đặt tay tôi vào sườn Ngài!”
The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I may see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will, no, not believe.
26 Tám ngày sau, các môn đệ lại họp trong nhà ấy, lần này Thô-ma cũng có mặt. Cửa ngõ đều đóng chặt, bất thình lình, như lần trước, Chúa Giê-xu đến đứng giữa họ. Chúa phán: “Bình an cho các con.”
And after eight days his disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus comes, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace to you.
27 Chúa phán riêng với Thô-ma: “Hãy đặt ngón tay con vào đây và nhìn bàn tay Ta. Hãy đặt bàn tay con vào sườn Ta. Đừng hoài nghi nữa. Hãy tin!”
Then he says to Thomas, Bring thy finger here, and see my hands, and bring thy hand, and put into my side, and do not become faithless, but believing.
28 Thô-ma thưa: “Lạy Chúa tôi và Đức Chúa Trời tôi!”
Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God.
29 Chúa Giê-xu phán với ông: “Con tin vì con thấy Ta. Phước cho những người chưa thấy mà tin Ta!”
Jesus says to him, Because thou have seen me, thou have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.
30 Các môn đệ còn chứng kiến nhiều phép lạ khác do Chúa Giê-xu thực hiện, nhưng không thể chép tất cả vào sách này,
And indeed therefore many other signs Jesus did in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book.
31 Nhưng chỉ xin ghi lại một số phép lạ để giúp người đọc tin nhận Chúa Giê-xu là Đấng Mết-si-a, là Con Đức Chúa Trời, và nhờ niềm tin đó, chúng ta hưởng được sự sống vĩnh viễn trong Danh Chúa.
But these are written, so that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.
