1 Binh-đát, người Su-a, đáp:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:
2 “Anh cứ luận điệu này cho đến bao giờ? Hãy bình tâm để cùng nhau trò chuyện.
How long will ye lay snares for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
3 Sao chúng tôi bị kể vào hàng thú vật? Sao anh coi chúng tôi là kẻ dại khờ?
Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed dull in your sight?
4 Anh tự xé nát thân mình trong cơn giận, không lẽ vì anh mà mặt đất thành hoang vắng? Lẽ nào tảng đá phải dời đi nơi khác?
Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?
5 Vâng, ánh sáng kẻ gian ác sẽ bị dập tắt. Tia lửa của nó không còn chiếu rạng.
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
6 Ánh sáng trong trại nó sẽ tối om. Ngọn đèn sẽ vụt tắt trên đầu nó.
The light shall be dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
7 Bước chân mạnh mẽ của kẻ ác sẽ yếu đi. Mưu kế nó sẽ làm nó sụp đổ.
The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
8 Nó bị chân mình đưa vào lưới rập. Dẫn nó bước ngay vào cạm bẫy
For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon the toils.
9 Gót chân nó bị mắc vào tròng. Bị thòng lọng thắt chặt hết phương vùng vẫy.
A gin shall take him by the heel, and a snare shall lay hold on him.
10 Vòng dây chờ sẵn trên mặt đất. Hầm chông gài sẵn trên đường nó đi.
A noose is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
11 Nỗi khủng khiếp vây bọc nó tư bề và bám đuổi theo gót chân nó.
Terrors shall overwhelm him on every side, and shall entrap him at his feet.
12 Vì cơn đói, nó suy tàn sức lực, tai họa đang chờ chực nó thường xuyên.
His trouble shall be ravenous, and calamity shall be ready for his fall.
13 Từng mảng da tai họa tàn phá; con trưởng của tử thần ăn nuốt toàn thân.
It shall devour the members of his body, yea, the first-born of death shall devour his members.
14 Nó bị đuổi ra ngoài lều trại và bị áp giải đến trước vua của những kinh hoàng.
That wherein he trusteth shall be plucked out of his tent; and he shall be brought to the king of terrors.
15 Nó sẽ bị giam giữ trong căn nhà xa lạ; còn nhà nó bị trận mưa diêm sinh thiêu hủy.
There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his; brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
16 Rễ của nó sẽ bị khô cằn, và các cành của nó sẽ héo tàn.
His roots shall dry up beneath, and above shall his branch wither.
17 Kỷ niệm nó bị xóa nhòa trên đất, ngoài phố phường chẳng ai nhắc đến tên.
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name abroad.
18 Nó bị đuổi từ vùng ánh sáng vào bóng tối, bị trục xuất ra khỏi trần gian.
He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19 Nó chẳng còn con cháu, không một ai sống sót nơi quê hương nó sống.
He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
20 Người phương tây kinh ngạc về số phận của nó; người phương đông khiếp đảm.
They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before are affrighted.
21 Nó sẽ nói: ‘Đây là nơi ở của kẻ ác, là nơi của những kẻ không nhận biết Đức Chúa Trời.’”
Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
