Gióp 11
1 Sô-pha, người Na-a-ma đáp lời Gióp:
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said:
2 “Phải chăng những lời này không ai dám đối đáp? Phải chăng người lắm lời này có lý?
Shall not the multitude of words receive an answer? Shall the man of words be justified?
3 Tôi có thể giữ im lặng trong khi anh khoa trương sao? Khi anh chế nhạo Đức Chúa Trời, không ai dám quở anh sao?
Shall thy boastings make men hold their peace? Shalt thou mock, and none put thee to shame?
4 Anh nói: ‘Niềm tin của con hoàn hảo,’ và ‘Con trong sạch trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời.’
Thou sayest, My speech is pure; I am clean in thine eyes, [[O God!]]
5 Nếu Đức Chúa Trời phán dạy; nếu Chúa nói với anh điều Ngài nghĩ suy!
But O that God would speak, And open his lips against thee;
6 Nếu Chúa tỏ anh biết bí mật của sự khôn ngoan, vì sự khôn ngoan thật không phải là chuyện đơn giản. Hãy nhớ! Vì độ lượng nhân từ, tội anh nặng, Đức Chúa Trời đã hình phạt nhẹ.
That he would show thee the secrets of his wisdom, —His wisdom, which is unsearchable! Then shouldst thou know that God forgiveth thee many of thine iniquities.
7 Làm sao anh có thể hiểu thấu sự huyền nhiệm của Đức Chúa Trời? Và khám phá giới hạn của Đấng Toàn Năng?
Canst thou search out the deep things of God? Canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?
8 Sự hiểu biết ấy cao hơn các tầng trời— anh nghĩ anh là ai? Những điều ấy sâu hơn âm phủ— anh biết được gì? (Sheol h7585)
'Tis high as heaven, what canst thou do? Deeper than hell, what canst thou know? (Sheol h7585)
9 Những điều ấy dài rộng hơn mặt đất, và mênh mông hơn đại dương.
The measure thereof is longer than the earth, And broader than the sea.
10 Nếu Đức Chúa Trời đến và bắt người ta cầm tù hay lập tòa xét xử, ai có thể cản ngăn Ngài?
If he apprehend, and bind, and bring to trial, Who shall oppose him?
11 Vì Chúa biết những người giả dối, Ngài ghi xuống tất cả tội lỗi chúng.
For he knoweth the unrighteous; He seeth iniquity, when they do not observe it.
12 Chừng nào lừa hoang sinh ra con là người, Thì kẻ u mê mới nên thông sáng.
But vain man is without understanding; Yea, man is born a wild ass's colt.
13 Nếu anh dọn lòng trong sạch và đưa tay hướng về Chúa kêu cầu!
If thou direct thy heart, And stretch out thy hands, toward him;
14 Nếu anh lìa xa tội lỗi, không chứa chấp gian tham.
If thou put away iniquity from thy hand, And let not wickedness dwell in thy habitation, —
15 Anh sẽ ngẩng mặt lên, không hổ thẹn. Sống vững vàng, không sợ hãi lo âu.
Then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; Yea, thou shalt be steadfast, and have no fear.
16 Anh sẽ quên đi thời khổ nạn; như dòng nước đã chảy xa.
For thou shalt forget thy misery, Or remember it as waters that have passed away.
17 Đời anh sẽ rực rỡ như ban ngày. Ngay cả tăm tối cũng sẽ sáng như bình minh.
Thy life shall be brighter than the noon-day; Now thou art in darkness, thou shalt then be as morning.
18 Anh sẽ tin tưởng và hy vọng. Sống thảnh thơi và ngơi nghỉ an bình.
Thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Now thou art disappointed, thou shalt then rest in safety.
19 Anh sẽ nằm yên không kinh hãi, và nhiều người đến xin anh giúp đỡ.
Thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; And many shall make suit unto thee.
20 Nhưng người ác sẽ bị mù lòa. Chúng sẽ không thấy lối thoát thân. Chỉ hy vọng thử hơi cuối cùng.”
But the eyes of the wicked shall be wearied out; They shall find no refuge; Their hope is—the breathing forth of life.
