I-sai-a 50
1 Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Có phải mẹ con bị đuổi đi vì Ta từ bỏ người? Có phải Ta đã bán con làm nô lệ cho chủ nợ của Ta? Không, con bị bán vì tội lỗi của con. Và mẹ con cũng vậy, bị lấy đi vì tội lỗi của con.
Thus sayeth the Lord, Where is that bill of your mothers diuorcement, whome I haue cast off? or who is the creditour to whome I solde you? Beholde, for your iniquities are yee solde, and because of your transgressions is your mother forsaken.
2 Tại sao khi Ta đến, không thấy ai cả? Tại sao không ai trả lời khi Ta gọi? Có phải vì Ta không có năng quyền để giải cứu? Không, đó không phải là lý do! Vì Ta có quyền quở biển thì nó liền khô cạn! Ta có quyền biến sông ngòi thành hoang mạc với đầy cá chết.
Wherefore came I, and there was no man? I called, and none answered: is mine hand so shortened, that it cannot helpe? or haue I no power to deliuer? Beholde, at my rebuke I drie vp the Sea: I make the floods desert: their fish rotteth for want of water, and dieth for thirst.
3 Ta có quyền mặc áo đen cho các tầng trời, và phủ lên chúng một chiếc bao gai.”
I clothe the heauens with darkenesse, and make a sacke their couering.
4 Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao đã dạy tôi những lời khôn ngoan để tôi biết lựa lời khích lệ người ngã lòng. Mỗi buổi sáng, Ngài đánh thức tôi dậy và mở trí tôi để hiểu ý muốn Ngài.
The Lord God hath giuen me a tongue of the learned, that I shoulde knowe to minister a woord in time to him that is weary: he will raise me vp in the morning: in the morning hee will waken mine eare to heare, as the learned.
5 Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao đã phán với tôi, và tôi lắng nghe. Tôi không hề chống lại hay bỏ chạy.
The Lord God hath opened mine eare and I was not rebellious, neither turned I backe.
6 Tôi đưa lưng cho người ta đánh và đưa má cho người ta tát. Tôi không che mặt khi bị người ta sỉ vả và nhổ vào mặt.
I gaue my backe vnto the smiters, and my cheekes to the nippers: I hidde not my face from shame and spitting.
7 Bởi vì Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao giúp đỡ tôi, tôi sẽ không bị sỉ nhục. Vì thế, tôi làm cho mặt mình cứng như kim cương, quyết tâm làm theo ý muốn Ngài. Và tôi biết tôi sẽ không bị hổ thẹn.
For the Lord God will helpe me, therefore shall I not bee confounded: therefore haue I set my face like a flint, and I knowe that I shall not be ashamed.
8 Đấng cho tôi công lý sắp xuất hiện. Ai dám mang trách nhiệm chống nghịch tôi bây giờ? Người buộc tội tôi ở đâu? Hãy để chúng ra mặt!
Hee is neere that iustifieth mee: who will contend with me? Let vs stande together: who is mine aduersarie? let him come neere to me.
9 Kìa, Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao bên cạnh tôi! Ai dám công bố tôi có tội? Tất cả kẻ thù tôi sẽ bị hủy diệt như chiếc áo cũ bị sâu ăn!
Beholde, the Lord God will helpe me: who is he that can condemne me? loe, they shall waxe olde as a garment: the mothe shall eate them vp.
10 Ai trong các ngươi kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu và vâng lời đầy tớ Ngài? Nếu ngươi đi trong bóng tối và không có ánh sáng, hãy tin cậy Chúa Hằng Hữu và nương tựa nơi Đức Chúa Trời ngươi.
Who is among you that feareth the Lord? let him heare the voyce of his seruant: hee that walketh in darkenesse, and hath no light, let him trust in the Name of the Lord, and staye vpon his God.
11 Nhưng hãy cẩn thận, hỡi những người sống trong ánh sáng riêng và sưởi ấm mình nơi lò lửa mình đã đốt. Đây là phần thưởng ngươi sẽ nhận từ Ta: Ngươi sẽ sống trong buồn rầu, đau đớn.
Beholde, all you kindle a fire, and are compassed about with sparkes: walke in the light of your fire, and in the sparkes that ye haue kindled. This shall ye haue of mine hand: ye shall lye downe in sorowe.
