1 Vậy, vua và Ha-man đến dự tiệc với Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê.

2 Khi đang uống rượu, vua lại hỏi bà Ê-xơ-tê lần nữa: “Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê, nàng muốn xin gì ta cũng cho. Dù xin phân nửa đế quốc, ta cũng vui lòng.”

7 Vua giận dữ đứng dậy ra khỏi bàn tiệc, bước ra ngoài ngự viên. Còn Ha-man ở lại cầu khẩn Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê cứu mạng, vì ông thấy rõ vua sắp giáng họa cho mình.
