Ê-xơ-tê 10

1 Vua A-suê-ru buộc các nước thuộc đế quốc, trong lục địa cũng như hải đảo, đều phải nộp thuế.

And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and [upon] the isles of the sea.

2 Các công trình và uy quyền của vua, việc vua thăng chức cho Mạc-đô-chê lên địa vị cao trọng, đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Mê-đi và Ba Tư.

And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3 Mạc-đô-chê người Do Thái làm tể tướng dưới triều Vua A-suê-ru, là vị anh hùng của dân tộc Do Thái, được toàn dân quý mến, vì ông luôn luôn bảo vệ và bênh vực quyền lợi dân tộc.

For Mordecai the Jew [was] next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
