Phục Truyền Luật Lệ 30
1 “Một khi các điều này xảy ra, hoặc phước hoặc họa như tôi đã trình bày, nếu anh em hồi tâm tỉnh ngộ, giữa cảnh đất lạ quê người là nơi Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em đuổi anh em đến.
And it shall come to pass, when all these things shall come in upon thee—the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, —and thou shalt bring them back unto thy heart among all the nations whither Yahweh thy God hath driven thee;
2 Nếu anh em và con cháu mình quay lại với Chúa, đem hết lòng dạ vâng theo lời Ngài, là những điều tôi truyền lại cho anh em hôm nay,
and thou shalt return unto Yahweh thy God and shalt hearken unto his voice, according to all that I am commanding thee to-day, —thou and thy sons, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
3 thì Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ thương xót và cho anh em thoát cảnh lưu đày. Ngài sẽ đem anh em về, thu góp anh em lại, mặc dù đã bị tản mác khắp nơi.
then will Yahweh thy God bring back thy captivity and have compassion upon thee, —and return and gather thee from among all the peoples whither Yahweh thy God hath scattered thee.
4 Dù có người ở xa tận chân trời, Chúa Hằng Hữu của anh em cũng đem người ấy về.
Though thou be driven out unto the utmost part of the heavens, from thence, will Yahweh thy God gather thee, and, from thence will he fetch thee;
5 Chúa sẽ đem anh em về quê cha đất tổ, cho anh em chiếm lại quê hương. Ngài sẽ cho anh em thịnh vượng, đông đúc hơn cả thời cha ông mình.
and Yahweh thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it, —and he will do thee good and multiply thee beyond thy fathers.
6 Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em sẽ làm cho anh em và con cháu mình một lòng dứt khoát với tội lỗi, yêu kính Ngài hết lòng, hết linh hồn, và nhờ đó anh em sẽ được sống!
And Yahweh thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, —to love Yahweh thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
7 Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em sẽ giáng các sự nguyền rủa này trên những người thù nghịch, ghen ghét và bức hại anh em.
And Yahweh thy God will put all these oaths upon thine enemies and upon them who hated thee who persecuted thee.
8 Nếu anh em hết lòng ăn năn, vâng giữ mọi giới luật của Chúa Hằng Hữu mà tôi truyền lại hôm nay.
But, thou, wilt return, and hearken unto the voice of Yahweh, —and wilt do all his commandments, which I am commanding thee, to-day,
9 Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ cho anh em thành công trong mọi công việc, con cái đông đúc, thú vật đầy đàn, mùa màng sung mãn, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu vui lòng làm cho anh em, cũng như Ngài đã vui lòng làm cho các tổ tiên,
And Yahweh thy God will make thee pre-eminent, in every work of thy hand—in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle and in the fruit of thy ground, for good, —for Yahweh will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
10 miễn là anh em tuân theo mọi giới luật chép trong Sách Luật Pháp này, hết lòng, hết linh hồn quay về với Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em.”
if thou hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, to keep his commandments, and his statutes, which are written in this scroll of the law, —if thou return unto Yahweh thy God, with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
11 “Giới luật tôi truyền hôm nay không phải là những luật khó quá sức anh em;
For as touching this commandment, which I am commanding thee to-day, it is not, too wonderful, for thee, neither is it far off.
12 cũng không phải từ trời cao xa, đến nỗi anh em không với tới, không nghe được để tuân hành;
It is, not in the heavens, —that thou shouldest say—Who shall ascend for us into the heavens that he may fetch it for us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13 cũng không phải từ bên kia đại dương xa vời, đến độ không ai tới được, để đem về truyền lại cho anh em tuân giữ.
Neither is it, over the sea, —that thou shouldest say, Who will pass over for us to the other side of the sea, that he may fetch it for us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14 Nhưng nó ở ngay cạnh anh em, trong miệng, trong lòng anh em để anh em làm theo.
But, near unto thee, is the word, exceedingly, —in thy mouth and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
15 Đây, hôm nay tôi đặt trước anh em phước và họa, sống và chết.
See! I have set before thee, to-day, life and prosperity, —and death and calamity;
16 Hôm nay, tôi khuyên anh em phải yêu kính Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, đi theo đường lối Ngài, tuân giữ giới lệnh, luật pháp của Ngài; như vậy anh em mới được sống, được gia tăng nhân số, và Chúa mới ban phước lành cho anh em trong lãnh thổ anh em sắp chiếm hữu.
for thou must keep the commandments of Yahweh thy God which I am commanding thee to-day, to love Yahweh thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes, and his regulations, —so shalt thou live and multiply, and Yahweh thy God will bless thee, in the land which thou art entering to possess.
17 Nhưng nếu anh em không chịu nghe tôi, đi thờ lạy các thần khác,
But, if thy heart shall turn away, and thou wilt, not hearken, —but shalt be drawn away, and shalt bow thyself down to other gods and serve them,
18 thì hôm nay tôi xin quả quyết rằng anh em sẽ bị diệt vong, chỉ được sống một thời gian ngắn ngủi trên đất anh em sắp chiếm hữu bên kia Giô-đan.
I declare unto you, to-day, that ye shall perish, —ye shall not prolong your days, upon the soil which thou art passing over the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 Tôi xin trời đất chứng giám, hôm nay tôi có đặt trước anh em phước và họa, sống và chết. Tôi kêu gọi anh em chọn con đường sống, để anh em và con cháu mình được sống.
I call to witness against you to-day, the heavens and the earth, that life and death, have I set before thee, the blessing and the curse, —therefore shouldest thou choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed;
20 Tôi kêu gọi anh em yêu kính Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, vâng lời Ngài, khắng khít với Ngài, vì Ngài là nguồn sống của anh em. Ngài sẽ làm cho anh em sống lâu dài trên đất Ngài hứa cho các tổ tiên Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, và Gia-cốp.”
to love Yahweh thy God, to hearken unto his voice, and to cleave unto him, —for, he, is thy life, and thy length of days, that thou mayest abide upon the soil which Yahweh sware to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, to give unto them.
