1 “Một người có tinh hoàn bị dập hay dương vật bị cắt thì không được vào cộng đồng dân Chúa Hằng Hữu.
He that is wounded in the testicles, or hath his privy member cut, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
2 Một người con hoang không được vào cộng đồng dân Chúa Hằng Hữu. Con cháu người này dù đến đời thứ mười cũng không được vào.
One born from prohibited connections shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even the tenth generation of him shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
3 Người Am-môn, người Mô-áp không được vào cộng đồng dân Chúa Hằng Hữu. Con cháu họ dù đến đời thứ mười cũng không được vào.
An 'Ammonite and a Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even the tenth generation of him shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord, for ever;
4 Vì họ đã không mang thực phẩm, nước uống ra tiếp đón Ít-ra-ên, khi anh em mới từ Ai Cập ra đi. Họ còn mướn Ba-la-am, con Bê-ô, người Phê-thô-rơ xứ A-ram Na-ha-ra-im, đi nguyền rủa anh em.
For the reason, that they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because he hired against thee Bil'am the son of Beor of Pethor in Mesopotamia, to curse thee;
5 Tuy nhiên, Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, đâu có nghe Ba-la-am, Ngài đã biến lời nguyền rủa ra lời chúc phước, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, yêu thương anh em.
But the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Bil'am; and the Lord thy God changed unto thee the curse into a blessing, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6 Đừng bao giờ giúp họ kiến tạo hòa bình, thịnh vượng.
Thou shalt not seek their peace and their welfare all thy days, for ever.
7 Đối với người Ê-đôm, không được khinh ghét, vì họ là anh em của anh em. Cũng đừng khinh ghét người Ai Cập, vì anh em đã kiều ngụ trong nước họ.
Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother; thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.
8 Cháu đời thứ ba của họ được phép vào cộng đồng dân Chúa Hằng Hữu.”
The children that are born unto them in the third generation, may enter of them into the congregation of the Lord.
9 “Trong lúc chiến tranh với quân thù, phải gìn giữ doanh trại cho được tinh khiết.
When thou goest forth into camp against thy enemies, then keep thyself from every evil thing.
10 Nếu có ai bị mộng tinh, không được vào trại.
If there be among thee any man, that is not clean by reason of an occurrence by night; then shall he go abroad to without the camp, he shall not come within the camp;
11 Đến chiều, người ấy phải tắm rửa sạch sẽ, và chỉ vào lại doanh trại lúc mặt trời lặn.
But it shall be, that toward evening he shall bathe himself in water; and when the sun goeth down, he may come into the midst of the camp.
12 Dành một khu vực bên ngoài doanh trại để đi vệ sinh.
And a place shalt thou have without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
13 Mỗi người phải có một xuổng con trong bộ dụng cụ cá nhân của mình mang theo. Khi đi đại tiện, phải đào lỗ, xong phải lấp đất lại.
And a spade shalt thou have with thy weapons: and it shall be, when thou sittest abroad, that thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt afterward cover that which cometh from thee;
14 Vậy, doanh trại phải được thánh, vì Chúa đi giữa doanh trại để cứu giúp anh em, làm cho kẻ thù bại trận. Nếu doanh trại ô uế, Ngài sẽ bỏ đi.
For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee and to give up thy enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy; that he see no unseemly thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
15 Nếu có một người nô lệ trốn khỏi nhà chủ chạy đến với anh em, không được giao trả người ấy cho chủ.
Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant who may escape unto thee from his master;
16 Phải cho người ấy ở với anh em, tại thành nào tùy ý người ấy chọn, không được bạc đãi.
With thee shall he dwell, in the midst of thee, in the place which he may choose in any one of thy gates, where it seemeth best to him: thou shalt not oppress him.
17 Trong toàn dân Ít-ra-ên không được có mãi dâm nam hay mãi dâm nữ.
There shall not be a prostitute of the daughters of Israel, and there shall not be a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
18 Không được đem tiền công của họ vào nhà của Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, vì Ngài ghê tởm cả hai thứ này.
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow; for both of these are equally an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
19 Không được cho anh em mình vay lấy lãi, dù cho vay tiền, thức ăn hay bất cứ vật gì khác.
Thou shalt not take interest from thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of any thing that is lent upon interest:
20 Đối với người ngoại quốc, anh em được phép cho vay lấy lãi, nhưng không được lấy lãi người Ít-ra-ên. Như vậy, Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, sẽ ban phước cho anh em trong đất hứa.
From an alien thou mayest take interest; but from thy brother thou shalt not take interest; in order that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the acquisition of thy hand, in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
21 Khi hứa nguyện điều gì với Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em, phải làm theo điều mình đã hứa nguyện, phải dâng vật mình đã hứa. Vì Chúa đòi hỏi anh em thực hiện lời hứa nguyện mình. Nếu không, anh em mang tội.
When thou makest a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it; for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
22 Nhưng nếu anh em dè dặt, không hứa nguyện, như thế không phải là tội.
But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
23 Khi hứa nguyện rồi, phải thận trọng làm theo lời mình, vì anh em đã tự ý hứa nguyện với Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của anh em.
What is gone out of thy lips shalt thou keep and perform, as thou hast vowed unto the Lord thy God voluntarily, as thou hast spoken with thy mouth.
24 Khi vào vườn nho của người láng giềng, anh em có thể ăn bao nhiêu cũng được, tùy ý, nhưng không được hái đem về.
When thou comest into thy neighbor's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes at thy own pleasure, till thou have enough; but into thy vessel shalt thou not put any.
25 Cũng thế, khi vào đồng lúa của người láng giềng, anh em được lấy tay ngắt lúa, chứ không được dùng lưỡi liềm cắt lúa.”
When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbor, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but a sickle shall thou not move over thy neighbor's standing corn.
