Ða-ni-ên 8
1 Năm thứ ba triều Vua Bên-xát-sa, tôi thấy khải tượng thứ nhì.
In the third year of King Belshazzar's reign I, Daniel, saw another vision after the one I had seen previously.
2 Lần này, tôi đang ở tại hoàng thành Su-sa trong tỉnh Ê-lam, bên bờ Sông U-lai.
In my vision I looked around and saw I was in the castle at Susa in the province of Elam. In the vision I was beside the River Ulai.
3 Tôi quan sát và trông thấy một con chiên đực đứng bên bờ sông. Đầu chiên mọc hai sừng cao, nhưng sừng thứ hai mọc lên sau và cao hơn sừng kia.
I looked around and saw a ram standing beside the river. It had two long horns, one longer than the other, even though the longer one had grown last.
4 Con chiên xông về hướng tây, hướng bắc và hướng nam và chiến thắng tất cả các loài thú, không ai giải cứu nổi các con mồi của nó. Nó muốn làm gì tùy ý và trở nên lớn mạnh.
I watched the ram charging west, north, and south. No animal could stand up to it—nor was there any chance of rescue from its power. It did whatever it wanted and grew powerful.
5 Tôi đang quan sát nó, bỗng một con dê đực đến từ phương tây, chạy thật nhanh như không chạm đến mặt đất. Con dê này có một sừng rất lớn mọc giữa hai mắt.
As I was thinking about what I'd seen, a male goat came in from the west, racing in across the surface of the earth so fast it didn't touch the ground. It had a large, prominent horn between its eyes.
6 Con dê giận dữ dùng tất cả sức mạnh xông vào tấn công con chiên có hai sừng đang đứng trên bờ sông.
It approached the ram with the two horns which I had seen standing beside the river, rushing in to attack in a furious rage.
7 Con dê chạy lại húc con chiên, tấn công dữ dội đến nỗi đánh gãy cả hai sừng con chiên. Con chiên không còn sức chống cự, con dê vật nó xuống rồi giẫm đạp lên trên. Không ai có thể cứu con chiên khỏi sức mạnh của con dê.
I watched as the goat charged furiously at the ram, hitting it and breaking off its two horns. The ram did not have the strength to resist the goat's attack. The goat threw the ram to the ground, trampling on it, and there was no possibility of rescuing it from the goat's power.
8 Con dê càng lớn mạnh. Nhưng khi nó hết lớn, cái sừng lớn bị gãy đi, nhường chỗ cho bốn sừng đặc biệt, mọc lên hướng về bốn ngọn gió trên trời.
The goat grew very powerful, but at the height of its power its large horn was broken off. In its place four large horns came up, pointing to the four winds of heaven.
9 Giữa bốn sừng lại mọc lên một chiếc sừng nhỏ, ngày càng lớn mạnh đến mức cực đại, tiến công vào phương nam, phương đông và nước Ít-ra-ên.
A little horn came up from one of them, and grew extremely powerful to the south and to the east and to the Beautiful Land.
10 Nó tranh chiến với dân Chúa và chiến thắng các nhà lãnh đạo dân Ngài.
It grew in power until it reached the heavenly army, throwing some of them and some of the stars down to the earth and trampled on them.
11 Nó tự tôn tự đại, chống lại Chúa các thiên binh bằng cách chấm dứt các tế lễ hằng dâng cho Ngài và làm hoen ố Đền Thờ Ngài.
It even tried to make itself as great as the Prince of the heavenly army—it removed the continual service, and the place of his sanctuary was destroyed.
12 Nhưng các thiên binh không được phép tiêu diệt nó mặc dù nó phạm thượng. Vì đó, chân lý và công chính bị chà đạp trong khi sự gian ác chiến thắng tung hoành khắp nơi.
An army of people and the continual service were handed over to it because of rebellion, and it overthrew truth, and it was successful in everything it did.
13 Lúc ấy, tôi nghe hai thiên sứ thánh chuyện trò với nhau. Một thiên sứ hỏi: “Phải mất bao lâu, tế lễ mới được tái lập? Đền Thờ và dân Chúa mới thôi bị quân thù giày xéo?”
Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one asked the one who was speaking, “How long is this vision for—the removal of the continual service, the rebellion that causes devastation, the handing over of the sanctuary and the army of people to be trampled down?”
14 Thiên sứ kia đáp: “Cho đến hai nghìn ba trăm ngày; Đền Thờ mới được thanh tẩy.”
He replied, “For two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings, then the sanctuary will be cleansed.”
15 Thấy khải tượng ấy, tôi tìm hiểu. Bỗng có ai giống như Con Người xuất hiện.
As I, Daniel, tried to work out what this vision meant suddenly I saw someone who looked like a man standing in front of me.
16 Có tiếng ai từ bên kia Sông U-lai gọi: “Gáp-ri-ên, hãy cho Đa-ni-ên biết ý nghĩa của khải tượng ấy!”
I also heard a human voice calling from the River Ulai, “Gabriel, explain to this man the meaning of the vision.”
17 Gáp-ri-ên tiến về phía tôi, nhưng tôi quá khiếp sợ, đứng không nổi, phải ngã nhào, sấp mặt xuống đất. Gáp-ri-ên bảo: “Này, Đa-ni-ên ơi! Anh phải nhận định kỹ càng! Các biến cố anh đã thấy trong khải tượng ấy phải đến, thì thời kỳ cuối cùng mới xảy ra.”
As he approached me, I was terrified and fell face down before him. “Son of man,” he told me, “You need to understand that this vision refers to the time of the end.”
18 Khi thiên sứ nói, tôi ngất đi, mặt vẫn áp xuống đất. Nhưng Gáp-ri-ên lay tôi dậy và nâng tôi đứng lên rồi tiếp:
As he spoke to me I lost consciousness as I laid face down on the ground. But he took hold of me and helped me to my feet.
19 “Tôi đến đây để báo cho anh biết các diễn biến trong những ngày cuối cùng của thời kỳ, vì những việc anh thấy sẽ xảy ra trong thời kỳ Chúa đã ấn định.
He told me, “Pay attention! I'm going to explain to you what's going to happen during the time of anger, which refers to the appointed time of the end.
20 Con chiên đực có hai sừng anh đã thấy là các vua Mê-đi và Ba Tư.
The ram with two horns that you saw symbolizes the kings of Media and Persia.
21 Con dê đực là vua Hy Lạp. Cái sừng lớn mọc giữa hai mắt là vua đầu tiên của Đế quốc Hy Lạp.
The male goat is the kingdom of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is its first king.
22 Khi sừng lớn bị gãy, bốn sừng khác mọc lên thay thế chỉ về Đế quốc Hy Lạp sẽ bị chia thành bốn nước nhưng không mạnh bằng nước đầu tiên.
The four horns that came up in place of the large horn that was broken represent the four kingdoms that arose from that nation, but not as powerful as the first.
23 Vào giai đoạn chót của các nước này, khi những kẻ phạm pháp lộng hành cực độ, một vua có bộ mặt hung dữ sẽ xuất hiện. Mưu lược của vua thật xảo quyệt.
When those kingdoms come to an end, when their sins have reached their fullest extent, a ferocious and treacherous kingdom will rise to power.
24 Uy quyền của vua quá lớn, nhưng không phải do sức mạnh của vua! Vua tiêu diệt những người hùng mạnh và dân thánh bốn phương, và tiếp tục thành công bách chiến bách thắng. Vua cố công phá hoại dân Chúa.
It will become very powerful but not by its own power. It will be terribly destructive, and will succeed in everything it does. It will destroy great leaders and God's dedicated people.
25 Vua dùng tài trí và mưu kế quỷ quyệt để lừa gạt nhiều người, không ai chống nổi. Vua sinh lòng tự tôn tự đại và tiêu diệt nhiều người như trở bàn tay. Vua nổi lên chống lại Vua của các vua, nhưng bị tiêu diệt không do bàn tay con người.
Through its deviousness, its lies will be convincing and successful. It shows its arrogance both in thought and action, destroying those who thought they were perfectly safe. It even fights in opposition against the Prince of princes, but it will be defeated, though not by any human power.
26 Khải tượng anh đã thấy về buổi sáng và buổi tối đều là chân thật, nhưng anh phải niêm phong lại vì còn lâu khải tượng ấy mới thành hiện thực!”
The vision about the evenings and mornings that has been explained to you is true, but for now seal up this vision because it refers to the distant future.”
27 Bấy giờ, tôi ngất xỉu và đau ốm lâu ngày. Khi đã bình phục, tôi tiếp tục lo việc nước. Tôi ngạc nhiên vì khải tượng đó nhưng không hiểu rõ ý nghĩa.
After this, I, Daniel, became exhausted, and I was sick for days. Then I got up and went back to working for the king, but I was devastated at what I'd seen in vision and I couldn't understand it.
