A-mốt 9
1 Tôi thấy khải tượng về Chúa đứng bên bàn thờ. Ngài phán: “Hãy đập tan các đỉnh cột của Đền Thờ, cho đến khi ngạch cửa rúng động. Đổ xuống đầu dân chúng. Ta sẽ diệt những người sống sót bằng gươm. Không ai chạy thoát!
I saw the Lord standing upon the altar; and he said, Smite the capital, that the sills may quake; and break them in pieces over the head of all of them; and their posterity will I slay with the sword: there shall not flee away from them one that fleeth, and there shall not escape from them one that is saved.
2 Dù chúng đào hố sâu trốn xuống tận âm phủ, Ta cũng sẽ kéo chúng lên. Dù chúng leo lên tận trời xanh, Ta cũng sẽ kéo chúng xuống. (Sheol h7585)
Though they were to creep down into the nether world, thence would my hand fetch them; and though they were to climb up to the heavens, thence would I bring them down; (Sheol h7585)
3 Dù chúng trốn trên đỉnh của Núi Cát-mên, Ta cũng sẽ tìm ra và bắt hết. Dù chúng lặn xuống tận đáy biển, Ta cũng sẽ sai rắn biển cắn chết chúng dưới vực sâu.
And though they were to hide themselves on the top of Carmel, thence would I search and take them out; and though they were to conceal themselves from before my eyes in the bottom of the sea, thence would I command the serpent, that he should bite them;
4 Dù chúng bị quân thù lưu đày, Ta cũng sẽ sai gươm giết chúng tại đó. Ta đã định giáng tai họa trên chúng chứ không cứu giúp chúng.”
And though they were to go into captivity before their enemies, thence would I command the sword, that it should slay them: and I will set my eye upon them for evil, and not for good.
5 Chúa, là Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân, chạm đến mặt đất thì nó chảy tan, khiến dân cư trên đất phải than khóc. Cả đất đai lẫn dân cư sẽ tràn lên như Sông Nin, rồi cùng nhau chìm xuống.
And the Lord Eternal of hosts it is that toucheth the earth, and she melteth away, and all that dwell thereon shall mourn; and she riseth up like a stream wholly; and she sinketh like the stream of Egypt;
6 Nhà của Chúa Hằng Hữu vươn tận các tầng trời, trong khi đặt nền trên trái đất, Chúa gọi nước từ các đại dương đến và đổ ra như mưa trên đất. Danh Ngài là Chúa Hằng Hữu!
That buildeth in the heavens his steps, and hath founded his vault over the earth; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out over the face of the earth: The Lord is his name.
7 “Hỡi Ít-ra-ên, các ngươi đối với Ta có khác gì người Ê-thi-ô-pi chăng?” Chúa Hằng Hữu hỏi. “Ta đã đem dân tộc Ít-ra-ên ra khỏi Ai Cập, Ta cũng đem người Phi-li-tin ra khỏi Cáp-tô, và dẫn người A-ram ra khỏi Ki-rơ.
Are ye not like the children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the Lord: have I not brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
8 Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao, đang dõi mắt theo dân tộc Ít-ra-ên tội lỗi này. Ta sẽ hủy diệt nó khỏi mặt đất. Nhưng, Ta sẽ không tuyệt diệt nhà Gia-cốp.” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán.
Behold, the eyes of the Lord Eternal are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; save only that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.
9 “Vì Ta sẽ ra lệnh sàng sảy Ít-ra-ên giữa các dân tộc như sàng lúa, không một hạt lúa chắc nào rơi xuống đất.
For, lo, I will give the command, and I will shake about among all the nations the house of Israel, as one shaketh things in a sieve, while not the least piece falleth down upon the earth.
10 Nhưng tất cả tội nhân sẽ bị gươm giết— là những kẻ nói rằng: ‘Không có điều xấu nào xảy đến cho chúng ta.’”
By the sword shall die all the sinners of my people, who say, The evil will not come near [us], nor hasten along for our sake.
11 “Trong ngày ấy, Ta sẽ xây lại đền tạm của Đa-vít đã bị sụp đổ. Ta sẽ vá những bức tường hư hại. Ta sẽ dựng lại những nơi đổ nát, và khôi phục vinh quang như ngày xưa.
On that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David which is fallen; and I will close up its breaches; and its ruins will I raise up, and I will rebuild it as in days of old:
12 Ít-ra-ên sẽ được phần còn lại của Ê-đôm và tất cả các nước được gọi bằng Danh Ta.” Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán, và Ngài sẽ thực hiện những việc ấy.
In order that they may take possession of the remnant of Edom, and of all the nations, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doth this.
13 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Sẽ có ngày, ngươi cũng theo kịp người gặt, người ép rượu đuổi kịp người gieo giống. Các núi đồi sẽ tràn đầy rượu nho, tuôn chảy khắp mọi đồi.
Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when the ploughman shall come close up to the harvester, and the treader of the grapes to the one that scattereth the seed: and the mountains shall drop with sweet new wine, and all the hills shall melt away.
14 Ta sẽ đem Ít-ra-ên, dân bị lưu đày của Ta trở về từ các nước xa xôi, họ sẽ xây lại các thành đổ nát và an cư lạc nghiệp tại đó. Họ sẽ trồng vườn nho và vườn cây trái; họ sẽ được ăn trái cây họ trồng và uống rượu nho của họ.
And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the wasted cities, and dwell therein; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink their wine; and they shall lay out gardens, and eat their fruit.
15 Ta sẽ trồng họ tại đó trên chính đất của họ. Họ sẽ không bao giờ bị nhổ đi khỏi mảnh đất mà Ta đã ban cho họ.” Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi phán vậy.
And I will plant them upon their own soil, and they shall not be pulled up any more out of their land which I have given unto them, saith the Lord thy God.
