II Thê-sa-lô-ni-ca 2
1 Thưa anh chị em, về sự tái lâm của Chúa Cứu Thế và cuộc tập họp của chúng ta để đón tiếp Ngài,
And we ask you, brethren, in regard to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him,
2 xin anh chị em đừng dao động, hốt hoảng mỗi khi nghe đồn ngày Chúa gần đến. Tin đồn có thể do người mạo nhận là “được thần linh cảm ứng,” do bài giảng luận hoặc một bức thư người ta bảo là của chúng tôi.
that ye be not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the day of Christ hath arrived;
3 Dù ai dùng cách nào, anh chị em đừng để họ lừa gạt; vì trước ngày Chúa đến, phải có thời kỳ bội đạo, và người vô luật pháp (hiện thân của sự hư vong) xuất hiện.
let not any one deceive you in any manner, because — if the falling away may not come first, and the man of sin be revealed — the son of the destruction,
4 Nó sẽ chống nghịch mọi thần linh, khuynh loát mọi thần thánh được người ta thờ phượng. Nó sẽ ngồi trong Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời, mạo nhận là Đức Chúa Trời.
who is opposing and is raising himself up above all called God or worshipped, so that he in the sanctuary of God as God hath sat down, shewing himself off that he is God — [the day doth not come].
5 Anh chị em không nhớ những ngày còn ở với anh chị em, tôi đã nói trước rồi sao?
Do ye not remember that, being yet with you, these things I said to you?
6 Anh chị em cũng biết rõ ai ngăn cản nó, cầm giữ nó đến đúng kỳ mới được xuất hiện.
and now, what is keeping down ye have known, for his being revealed in his own time,
7 Quyền lực vô đạo đã hoạt động rồi, nhưng đến khi nào Đấng ngăn cản ra đi.
for the secret of the lawlessness doth already work, only he who is keeping down now [will hinder] — till he may be out of the way,
8 Bấy giờ, người vô luật pháp xuất hiện nhưng Chúa Giê-xu sẽ trở lại, dùng hơi thở từ miệng Ngài thiêu hủy nó, và vinh quang Ngài sẽ tiêu diệt nó.
and then shall be revealed the Lawless One, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the manifestation of his presence,
9 Người vô luật pháp đến, dùng quyền năng Sa-tan lừa dối mọi người bằng đủ thứ phép lạ, dấu lạ và việc lạ.
[him, ] whose presence is according to the working of the Adversary, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,
10 Nó dùng mọi thủ đoạn gian ác lừa gạt những người sắp bị diệt vong, vì họ không chịu tiếp nhận và yêu chuộng chân lý để được cứu rỗi.
and in all deceitfulness of the unrighteousness in those perishing, because the love of the truth they did not receive for their being saved,
11 Do đó, Đức Chúa Trời để họ bị lừa gạt, tin theo những lời giả dối.
and because of this shall God send to them a working of delusion, for their believing the lie,
12 Cuối cùng mọi người không tin chân lý, ưa thích tội lỗi đều bị hình phạt.
that they may be judged — all who did not believe the truth, but were well pleased in the unrighteousness.
13 Thưa anh chị em tín hữu thân yêu của Chúa, chúng tôi phải luôn luôn cảm tạ Đức Chúa Trời về anh chị em, vì Chúa đã chọn anh chị em từ đầu để hưởng ơn cứu rỗi, khi anh chị em tin nhận chân lý và được Chúa Thánh Linh thánh hóa.
And we — we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, that God did choose you from the beginning to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth,
14 Chúa dùng Phúc Âm kêu gọi anh chị em, cho anh chị em chung hưởng vinh quang với Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu chúng ta.
to which He did call you through our good news, to the acquiring of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ;
15 Vì thế, thưa anh chị em, hãy đứng vững, giữ gìn các chân lý chúng tôi đã dạy qua lời giảng hoặc thư từ.
so, then, brethren, stand ye fast, and hold the deliverances that ye were taught, whether through word, whether through our letter;
16 Cầu xin Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu, Chúa chúng ta, và Đức Chúa Trời, Cha chúng ta, Đấng yêu thương chúng ta và ban ơn cho chúng ta được niềm an ủi vĩnh cửu và hy vọng tốt lành, (aiōnios g166)
and may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who did love us, and did give comfort age-during, and good hope in grace, (aiōnios g166)
17 an ủi lòng anh chị em và giúp anh chị em mạnh mẽ thực thi mọi việc thiện lành.
comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
