II Sa-mu-ên 3
1 Cuộc nội chiến giữa hai phe Sau-lơ và Đa-vít tiếp diễn lâu ngày nhưng triều Đa-vít ngày càng mạnh, còn triều Sau-lơ ngày càng suy yếu.
Therfor long strijf was maad bitwixe the hows of Dauid and `bitwixe the hows of Saul; and Dauid profitide and euere was strongere than hym silf, forsothe the hows of Saul decreesside ech dai.
2 Tại Hếp-rôn, Đa-vít sinh được các con trai sau đây: Trưởng nam là Am-nôn, mẹ là A-hi-nô-am, người Gít-rê-ên.
And sones weren borne to Dauid in Ebron; and his firste gendrid sone was Amon, of Achynoem of Jezrael;
3 Con thứ hai là Chi-lê-áp, mẹ là A-bi-ga-in, trước là vợ của Na-banh ở Cát-mên. Con thứ ba là Áp-sa-lôm, mẹ là Ma-a-ca, con gái của Thanh-mai, vua xứ Ghê-sua.
and aftir hym was Celeab, of Abigail, wijf of Nabal of Carmele; sotheli the thrydde was Absolon, the sone of Maacha, douytir of Tholomay, kyng of Gessur;
4 Con thứ tư là A-đô-ni-gia, mẹ là Hà-ghi. Con thứ năm là Sê-pha-tia, mẹ là A-bi-tan.
forsothe the fourthe was Adonyas, the sone of Agith; and the fyuethe was Saphacias, the sone of Abitail; and the sixte was Gethraam of Egla,
5 Con thứ sáu là Ích-rê-am, mẹ là Éc-la, vợ của Đa-vít. Đó là các con trai được sinh cho Đa-vít tại Hếp-rôn.
the wijf of Dauid. These weren borne to Dauid in Ebron.
6 Trong thời gian chiến tranh với Đa-vít, Áp-ne đã củng cố địa vị mình giữa những người theo phe Sau-lơ.
Therfor whanne batel was bytwixe the hows of Saul and the hows of Dauid, Abner, the sone of Ner, gouernyde the hows of Saul.
7 Sau-lơ có để lại một cung nữ tên là Rít-ba, con gái của Ai-gia. Ích-bô-sết nói với Áp-ne: “Sao ông dám ngủ với vợ bé của cha ta?”
Sotheli a concubyn, that is, a secoundarie wijf, Respha bi name, the douytir of Achia, `was to Saul; and Abner entride to hir.
8 Áp-ne giận lắm, nói: “Tôi có phải là chó Giu-đa đâu mà ai nói sao cũng được vậy? Cho đến nay, tôi vẫn tỏ lòng trung thành với triều vua cha Sau-lơ, với anh em, bạn bè của vua cha, bảo vệ cho vua không rơi vào tay Đa-vít, thế mà ngày nay vua hạch lỗi tôi phạm với một người phụ nữ?
And Isbosech seide to Abner, Whi `entridist thou to the concubyn of my fadir? Which was wrooth greetli for the wordis of Isbosech, and seide, Whether Y am the heed of a dogge ayens Juda to dai, and Y have do merci on the hous of Saul, thi fadir, and on hise britheren, and neiyboris, and Y bitook not thee in to the hondis of David, and thou hast souyt in me that, that thou schuldist repreue me for a womman to dai?
9 Xin Đức Chúa Trời phạt tôi nặng nề nếu tôi không giúp Đa-vít, thể hiện lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã hứa với ông ấy
God do these thingis to Abner, and adde these thingis to hym, no but as the Lord swoor to Dauid, `so Y do with hym,
10 chuyển vương quyền từ nhà Sau-lơ sang nhà Đa-vít, lập Đa-vít làm vua cả Ít-ra-ên và Giu-đa, từ Đan cho đến Bê-e-sê-ba.”
that the rewme be translatid fro the hous of Saul, and the trone of Dauid be reisid on Israel and on Juda, fro Dan `til to Bersabee.
11 Ích-bô-sết không dám nói một lời vì sợ Áp-ne.
And Isbosech myyte not answere ony thing to Abner, for he dredde Abner.
12 Áp-ne sai người thay mình thưa cùng Đa-vít: “Thực tế thì đất nước thuộc về ai ngài hẳn biết? Nếu ngài lập ước với tôi, thì tôi xin giúp ngài thống nhất Ít-ra-ên.”
Therfor Abner sente messangeris to Dauid, and thei seiden `for hym, Whos is the lond? and that the messangeris schulden speke, Make thou frenschipis with me, and myn hond schal be with thee, and Y schal brynge al Israel to thee.
13 Đa-vít đáp: “Được, ta sẽ lập ước với ông, với điều kiện ông phải đem Mi-canh, con Sau-lơ đến cho ta, nếu không, đừng gặp mặt ta.”
And Dauid seide, Best Y schal make frenschipis with thee, but Y axe of thee o thing, and seie, Thou schalt not se my face, bifore that thou brynge Mycol, the douyter of Saul, and so thou schalt come, and schalt se me.
14 Đa-vít cũng sai người đến yêu cầu Ích-bô-sết: “Phải trả Mi-canh vợ ta lại cho ta, vì ta đã cưới nàng với sính lễ 100 dương bì Phi-li-tin.”
Therfor Dauid sente messangeris to Isbosech, the sone of Saul, and seide, Yelde thou my wijf Mycol, whom Y spouside to me for an hundryd prepucies of Filisteis.
15 Ích-bô-sết cho người đi bắt Mi-canh trong nhà chồng là Pha-ti-ên con của La-ích.
Therfor Isbosech sente, and took hir fro hir hosebonde, Faltiel, son of Lais;
16 Mặc cho Pha-ti-ên theo sau Mi-canh, vừa đi vừa khóc cho đến tận Ba-hu-rim. Đến lúc ấy, Áp-ne mới bảo: “Ông về đi!” Pha-ti-ên đành quay về.
and hir hosebonde suede hir and wepte til Bahurym. And Abner seide to hym, Go thou, and turne ayen; and he turnede ayen.
17 Áp-ne bàn với các trưởng lão Ít-ra-ên: “Lâu nay, các ông vẫn mong muốn Đa-vít làm vua.
Also Abner brouyte in a word to the eldere men of Israel, and seide, Bothe yistirdai and the thridde dai ago ye souyten Dauid, that he schulde regne on you.
18 Bây giờ là lúc ta thực hiện ý muốn ấy, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu có hứa với Đa-vít: ‘Ta sẽ dùng đầy tớ Ta là Đa-vít giải cứu Ít-ra-ên khỏi quyền lực Phi-li-tin và các nước thù nghịch.’”
Now therfor do ye; for the Lord spak to Dauid, and seide, In the hond of my seruaunt Dauid Y schal saue my puple Israel fro the hond of Filisteis, and of alle his enemyes.
19 Áp-ne cũng vận động trong vòng người Bên-gia-min. Sau đó, ông đi Hếp-rôn trình lên Đa-vít nguyện vọng của người Ít-ra-ên và Bên-gia-min.
Forsothe Abner spak also to Beniamyn, and he yede, that he schulde speke to Dauid, in Ebron, alle thingis that plesiden Israel and al Beniamin.
20 Áp-ne đi Hếp-rôn chuyến này với một phái đoàn hai mươi người. Họ được Đa-vít mở tiệc khoản đãi.
And he cam to Dauid in Ebron with twenti men. And Dauid made a feeste to Abner, and to the men that camen with hym.
21 Mãn tiệc, Áp-ne nói: “Bây giờ tôi xin phép lên đường kêu gọi toàn dân họp lại trước mặt vua. Họ sẽ lập ước với vua và vua sẽ cai trị toàn quốc như điều hằng ao ước.” Vậy Đa-vít cho Áp-ne ra về bình an.
And Abner seide to Dauid, Y schal rise, that Y gadere al Israel to thee, my lord the kyng, and that Y make boond of pees with thee, and that thou regne on alle, as thi soule desirith. Therfor whanne Dauid hadde ledde forth Abner, and he hadde go in pees,
22 Áp-ne vừa đi khỏi, Giô-áp dẫn một toán quân về, mang theo nhiều chiến lợi phẩm thu được trong một trận đột kích.
anoon the children of Dauid and Joab camen with a ful grete prey, whanne theues weren slayn; sotheli Abner was not with Dauid, in Ebron, for Dauid hadde left hym, and he yede forth in pees.
23 Khi Giô-áp trở về, người được tin Áp-ne đến bệ kiến Đa-vít, và vua cho ông ta về bình an.
And Joab, and the oostis that weren with hym, camen aftirward; therfor it was teld to Joab of telleris, Abner, the sone of Ner, cam to the kyng, and the kyng lefte hym, and he yede in pees.
24 Giô-áp tức tốc vào chầu Đa-vít và hỏi: “Vua làm gì vậy? Áp-ne đến đây, sao vua lại cho ông ta về?
And Joab entride to the kyng, and seide, What hast thou do? Lo! Abner cam to thee; whi leftist thou hym, and he yede, and departide?
25 Vua biết Áp-ne đó chứ! Ông ta chỉ lừa gạt vua. Ông ta đến chỉ với mục đích dò xem đường đi nước bước của vua và mọi chương trình kế hoạch vua đang thi hành.”
Knowist thou not Abner, the sone of Ner, for herto he cam to thee, that he schulde disseyue thee, and that he schulde knowe thi going out and thin entryng, and schulde knowe alle thingis whiche thou doist?
26 Nói xong, Giô-áp quay ra, sai quân đuổi theo Áp-ne. Đến hồ chứa nước Si-ra, họ bắt kịp và điệu Áp-ne về Hếp-rôn. Đa-vít không biết gì về việc này cả.
Therfor Joab yede out fro Dauid, and sente messangeris aftir Abner; and `ledde hym ayen fro the cisterne of Cyrie, `while Dauid knew not.
27 Khi Áp-ne về đến Hếp-rôn, Giô-áp dẫn ông ra ngoài cổng thành như để nói chuyện riêng, rồi bất ngờ đâm gươm vào bụng giết chết Áp-ne để trả thù cho em mình là A-sa-ên.
And whanne Abner hadde come ayen in to Ebron, Joab ledde hym asidis half to `the myddil of the yate, that he schulde speke to hym in gile; and he smoot Abner there in the schar, and he was deed, in to the veniaunce of the blood of his brother Asahel.
28 Khi nghe được chuyện này, Đa-vít nói: “Trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, ta và toàn dân trong nước ta đều vô tội về cái chết của Áp-ne con của Nê-rơ.
That whanne Dauid hadde herd the thing doon, he seide, Y am clene and my rewme anentis God til in to with outen ende fro the blood of Abner, sone of Ner;
29 Giô-áp và gia đình ông ta phải chịu trách nhiệm. Cầu cho nhà Giô-áp không thiếu người bị ung nhọt, phung hủi, què quặt, bị chém giết, và chết đói!”
and come it on the heed of Joab, and on al the hows of his fadir; a man suffrynge flux of seed, and a leprouse man, holdynge spyndil, and fallynge bi swerd, and hauynge nede to breed, `that is, suffrynge hungur, `faile not of the hows of Joab.
30 Như vậy, hai anh em Giô-áp và A-bi-sai trả thù cho em mình, vì Áp-ne đã giết A-sa-ên trong trận Ga-ba-ôn.
Therfor Joab, and Abisay, his brother, killiden Abner, for he hadde slayn Asahel, her brother, in Gabaon, in batel.
31 Đa-vít ra lệnh cho Giô-áp và tất cả những người có mặt ở đó xé rách áo mình, mặc áo tang bằng vải thô, khóc thương Áp-ne. Và trong đám tang, chính vua đi sau linh cữu.
Forsothe Dauid seide to Joab, and to al the puple that was with hym, To rende ye your clothis, and be ye gird with sackis, and biweile ye bifor the heersis, `ether dirige, of Abner. Forsothe kyng Dauid suede the beere.
32 Vậy, Áp-ne được an táng ở Hếp-rôn. Trước cửa mộ, vua và mọi người đều khóc lớn tiếng.
And whanne thei hadden biried Abner in Ebron, kyng Dauid reiside his vois, and wepte on the biriel of Abner; `forsothe and al the puple wepte.
33 Vua đọc bài ai ca cho Áp-ne: “Sao Áp-ne phải chết như một người khờ dại?
And the kyng biweilide, and bymorenyde Abner, and seide, Abner, thou diedist not as dredeful men, `ethir cowardis, ben wont to die.
34 Trong lúc tay không bị trói; chân không bị còng? Chỉ vì có người ám hại— nên ông ngã chết cách đau thương.” Mọi người lại khóc.
Thin hondis weren not boundun, and thi feet weren not greuyd with stockis, but thou feldist doun, as men ben wont to falle bifor the sones of wickidnesse. And al the puple doublide togidere, and wepte on hym.
35 Ngày hôm ấy, người ta cố khuyên Đa-vít ăn, nhưng vua thề với Đức Chúa Trời không ăn gì trước khi mặt trời lặn.
And whanne al the multitude cam to take mete with Dauid, while the dai was yit cleer, Dauid swoor, and seide, God do to me these thingis, and adde these thingis, if Y schal taast breed ethir ony othir thing bifor the going doun of the sune.
36 Thấy thế, mọi người rất hài lòng. Mọi việc vua làm đều được mọi người vừa ý.
And al the puple herde; and alle thingis which the kyng dide in the siyt of al the puple plesiden hem;
37 Vậy, những người có mặt hôm ấy và toàn dân Ít-ra-ên đều hiểu rằng vua không chủ trương việc giết Áp-ne.
and al the comyn puple and al Israel knewe in that day, that it was not doon of the kyng, that Abner, the sone of Ner, was slayn.
38 Đa-vít nói với mấy người thân cận: “Một nhà lãnh đạo, một vĩ nhân của Ít-ra-ên vừa tạ thế hôm nay.
Also the kyng seide to hise seruauntis, Whether ye witen not, that the prince and gretteste felde doun to dai in Israel?
39 Mặc dù ta là vua được xức dầu, nhưng ngày nay thế còn yếu, trong khi hai con của Xê-ru-gia—Giô-áp và A-bi-sai—quá bạo tàn; nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ lấy ác báo ác.”
Forsothe Y am `delicat, ether tendir, yit and anoyntid kyng; sotheli these sones of Saruye ben hard to me; the Lord yelde to hym that doith yuel bi his malice.
