II Các Vua 21
1 Ma-na-se được mười hai tuổi lúc lên ngôi, và cai trị năm mươi lăm năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua là Hép-si-ba.
Manasseh was twelue yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned fiftie and fiue yeere in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Hephzi-bah.
2 Ma-na-se làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo con đường tội lỗi của các thổ dân đã bị Chúa đuổi ra khỏi đất này để lấy đất cho người Ít-ra-ên ở.
And he did euill in the sight of the Lord after the abomination of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 Vua dựng lại các miếu trên đồi đã bị Ê-xê-chia, cha mình phá hủy. Vua xây bàn thờ Ba-anh, dựng tượng A-sê-ra như A-háp vua Ít-ra-ên đã làm, và thờ tất cả các tinh tú trên trời.
For he went backe and built the hie places, which Hezekiah his father had destroyed: and he erected vp altars for Baal, and made a groue, as did Ahab King of Israel, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen and serued them.
4 Vua xây bàn thờ trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, là nơi Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Ta chọn Giê-ru-sa-lem là nơi đặt Danh Ta mãi mãi.”
Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, of the which the Lord saide, In Ierusalem will I put my Name.
5 Vua xây bàn thờ các tinh tú trong hành lang của Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And he built altars for al the hoste of ye heauen in the two courtes of the house of the Lord.
6 Vua đem con mình thiêu sống tế thần; học coi bói, coi điềm, nghe lời đồng bóng, phù thủy. Vua làm điều xấu ác, chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And he caused his sonnes to passe through the fire, and gaue him selfe to witchcraft and sorcerie, and he vsed them that had familiar spirits and were soothsayers, and did much euill in the sight of the Lord to anger him.
7 Ma-na-se còn chạm tượng A-sê-ra, đem vào đặt trong Đền Thờ, bất tuân lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán với Đa-vít và Sa-lô-môn: “Đền Thờ này và thành Giê-ru-sa-lem là nơi được Ta chọn giữa các đại tộc Ít-ra-ên để mang Danh Ta mãi mãi.
And he set the image of the groue, that he had made, in the house, whereof ye Lord had saide to Dauid and to Salomon his sonne, In this house and in Ierusalem, which I haue chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my Name for euer.
8 Nếu người Ít-ra-ên tuân theo lệnh Ta, tức các luật lệ Môi-se, đầy tớ Ta đã truyền cho họ, thì Ta sẽ không bắt họ phải bị lưu lạc nữa.”
Neither will I make the feete of Israel, mooue any more out of the lande, which I gaue their fathers: so that they will obserue and doe all that I haue commanded them, and according to all the Lawe that my seruant Moses commanded them.
9 Nhưng họ không nghe lời Ta. Ngoài ra, Ma-na-se còn xúi giục họ làm nhiều điều ác hơn cả các thổ dân ở đây trước kia, là các dân đã làm ác nên bị Chúa Hằng Hữu tiêu diệt và lấy đất này cho Người Ít-ra-ên ở.
Yet they obeyed not, but Manasseh ledde them out of the way, to doe more wickedly then did the heathen people, whom the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 Vì thế Chúa Hằng Hữu phán qua các đầy tớ phát ngôn viên Ngài rằng:
Therefore the Lord spake by his seruants the Prophets, saying,
11 “Vì Ma-na-se, vua Giu-đa, đã làm những điều đáng ghê tởm này, là những điều thất nhân ác đức còn hơn cả thổ dân A-mô-rít trước kia, và xúi người Giu-đa thờ thần tượng.
Because that Manasseh King of Iudah hath done such abominations, and hath wrought more wickedly then al that the Amorites (which were before him) did, and hath made Iudah sinne also with his idoles,
12 Nên Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, sẽ giáng họa trên Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, khiến cho ai nghe tin này cũng phải bàng hoàng.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Beholde, I will bring an euill vpon Ierusalem and Iudah, that who so heareth of it, both his eares shall tingle.
13 Ta sẽ lấy dây đo Sa-ma-ri và dây dò nhà A-háp giăng trên Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ta sẽ quét sạch Giê-ru-sa-lem như một người chùi sạch cái đĩa, rồi úp nó xuống.
And I will stretch ouer Ierusalem the line of Samaria, and the plommet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Ierusalem, as a man wipeth a dish, which he wipeth, and turneth it vpside downe.
14 Ta sẽ từ bỏ những người còn lại, mặc dù họ vốn thuộc về Ta, và giao họ cho quân thù. Họ trở thành miếng mồi, và chiến lợi phẩm của địch.
And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliuer them into the hande of their enemies, and they shalbe robbed and spoyled of all their aduersaries,
15 Vì họ làm điều ác trước mặt Ta, chọc Ta giận từ ngày tổ tiên họ được đem ra khỏi Ai Cập đến nay.”
Because they haue done euil in my sight, and haue prouoked mee to anger, since the time their fathers came out of Egypt vntill this day.
16 Ngoài tội xúi giục Giu-đa thờ thần tượng trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, Ma-na-se còn giết nhiều người vô tội, làm cho máu họ tràn ngập Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Moreouer Manasseh shed innocent blood exceeding much, till hee replenished Ierusalem from corner to corner, beside his sinne wherwith he made Iudah to sinne, and to doe euill in the sight of the Lord.
17 Các việc khác của Ma-na-se, tội lỗi vua làm, đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Giu-đa.
Concerning the rest of the actes of Manasseh, and all that hee did, and his sinne that he sinned, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
18 Ma-na-se chết, và được chôn trong ngự uyển U-xa. Con Ma-na-se là A-môn lên kế vị.
And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, euen in the garden of Vzza: and Amon his sonne reigned in his steade.
19 A-môn lên ngôi lúc hai mươi tuổi, và cai trị hai năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua là Mê-su-lê-mết, con Ha-rút ở Giô-ba.
Amon was two and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and hee reygned two yeere in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Iotbah.
20 Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu cũng như Ma-na-se cha mình.
And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh did.
21 Vua theo đúng vết chân cha mình, thờ các thần tượng cha mình đã thờ.
For hee walked in all the way that his father walked in, and serued the idoles that his father serued, and worshipped them.
22 Ông bỏ Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Hữu của tổ tiên mình, không theo đường lối của Ngài.
And he forsooke the Lord God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.
23 Các đầy tớ A-môn làm phản, giết A-môn ngay trong cung vua.
And the seruantes of Amon conspired against him, and slewe the King in his owne house.
24 Nhưng dân chúng nổi lên giết hết những người phản loạn, rồi lập Giô-si-a, con A-môn lên làm vua.
And the people of the land slewe all them that had conspired against King Amon, and the people made Iosiah his sonne King in his steade.
25 Các việc khác của A-môn đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Giu-đa.
Concerning the rest of the actes of Amon, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
26 A-môn được chôn trong mộ tại vườn U-xa. Giô-si-a lên kế vị.
And they buried him in his sepulchre in the garden of Vzza: and Iosiah his sonne reigned in his steade.
