II Các Vua 20
1 Trong thời gian Ê-xê-chia bị bệnh nặng gần chết thì Tiên tri Y-sai, con A-mốt đến thăm vua. Ông truyền cho vua sứ điệp này: “Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: ‘Vua nên xếp đặt mọi việc trong gia đình vì vua sắp qua đời. Vua không sống được nữa.’”
About that time was Hezekiah sicke vnto death: and the Prophet Isaiah the sonne of Amoz came to him, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Put thine house in an order: for thou shalt die, and not liue.
2 Khi Ê-xê-chia nghe điều này, ông quay mặt vào tường và khẩn thiết cầu xin Chúa Hằng Hữu:
Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,
3 “Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, xin Chúa nhớ cho, con đã hết lòng trung thành với Chúa, làm điều ngay trước mặt Ngài.” Rồi, vua khóc nức nở.
I beseech thee, O Lord, remember nowe, howe I haue walked before thee in trueth and with a perfite heart, and haue done that which is good in thy sight: and Hezekiah wept sore.
4 Trước khi Y-sai ra khỏi hoàng cung, Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo ông:
And afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle of the court, the worde of the Lord came to him, saying,
5 “Quay lại, nói với Ê-xê-chia, vua của dân Ta, như sau: ‘Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Đa-vít, ông tổ của con, đã nghe lời con cầu nguyện và đã thấy nước mắt con. Ta sẽ chữa con khỏi bệnh. Ba ngày nữa, con sẽ lên Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu.
Turne againe, and tell Hezekiah the captaine of my people, Thus saith the Lord God of Dauid thy father, I haue heard thy prayer, and seene thy teares: behold, I haue healed thee, and ye third day thou shalt go vp to ye house of ye Lord,
6 Ta sẽ cho con sống thêm mười lăm năm nữa. Ta sẽ cứu con và thành này khỏi tay vua A-sy-ri. Vì Danh Ta và vì Đa-vít, đầy tớ Ta, Ta sẽ bảo vệ thành này.’”
And I wil adde vnto thy dayes fiftene yere, and wil deliuer thee and this citie out of the hand of the King of Asshur, and will defende this citie for mine owne sake, and for Dauid my seruats sake.
7 Y-sai bảo người ta lấy một cái bánh trái vả đem đắp lên mụt nhọt của Ê-xê-chia, thì vua lành bệnh.
Then Isaiah sayde, Take a lumpe of dry figges. And they tooke it, and layed it on the boyle, and he recouered.
8 Ê-xê-chia hỏi Y-sai: “Có điều gì chứng tỏ Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ chữa lành cho tôi, và ba ngày nữa tôi được lên Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu?”
For Hezekiah had saide vnto Isaiah, What shalbe the signe that the Lord will heale me, and that I shall goe vp into the house of the Lord the thirde day?
9 Y-sai đáp: “Có. Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ làm điều này để chứng tỏ Ngài sắp thực hiện lời hứa. Vua muốn bóng trên bàn trắc ảnh mặt trời tới mười bậc hay lui lại mười bậc?”
And Isaiah answered, This signe shalt thou haue of the Lord, that the Lord will doe that he hath spoken, Wilt thou that the shadowe goe forwarde ten degrees, or go backe ten degrees?
10 Ê-xê-chia đáp: “Bóng mặt trời tới thì có gì là lạ. Xin cho nó lui mười bậc.”
And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadowe to passe forward ten degrees: not so then, but let ye shadow go backe ten degrees.
11 Tiên tri Y-sai kêu xin Chúa Hằng Hữu, và Ngài cho bóng mặt trời lùi lại mười bậc trên bàn trắc ảnh của A-cha.
And Isaiah the Prophet called vnto the Lord, and he brought againe the shadowe ten degrees backe by the degrees whereby it had gone downe in the diall of Ahaz.
12 Nghe tin vua Giu-đa khỏi bệnh, Mê-rô-đác Ba-la-đan, con trai Ba-la-đan, vua Ba-by-lôn, sai sứ giả mang thư và lễ vật đến chúc mừng Ê-xê-chia.
The same season Berodach Baladan the sonne of Baladan King of Babel, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard howe that Hezekiah was sicke.
13 Ê-xê-chia nồng nhiệt đón tiếp, và đưa họ đi xem các kho tàng chứa vàng, bạc, hương liệu, dầu quý, khí giới và mọi thứ khác, không chừa một thứ nào cả.
And Hezekiah heard them, and shewed them all his treasure house, to wit, the siluer, and the golde, and the spices, and the precious oyntment, and all the house of his armour, and al that was founde in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, and in all his realme, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
14 Tiên tri Y-sai đến, hỏi Ê-xê-chia: “Những người này từ đâu đến? Họ nói gì với vua?” Ê-xê-chia trả lời: “Họ đến từ một nước xa xăm là Ba-by-lôn.”
Then Isaiah the Prophet came vnto King Hezekiah, and saide vnto him, What saide these men? and from whence came they to thee? And Hezekiah said, They be come from a farre countrey, euen from Babel.
15 Y-sai hỏi tiếp: “Vua cho họ xem những gì trong cung?” Ê-xê-chia đáp: “Tất cả. Chẳng có thứ gì trong kho mà ta không cho họ xem.”
Then saide he, What haue they seene in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house haue they seene: there is nothing among my treasures, that I haue not shewed the.
16 Đến đây Y-sai nói: “Xin vua lắng nghe lời Chúa Hằng Hữu:
And Isaiah said vnto Hezekiah, Heare the worde of the Lord.
17 ‘Sẽ đến lúc mọi vật trong cung vua phải bị chở sang Ba-by-lôn, kể cả những vật tích lũy từ đời các tiên vương đến nay, không sót một món.
Beholde, the dayes come, that all that is in thine house, and what so euer thy fathers haue layed vp in store vnto this day, shall be caryed into Babel: Nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
18 Một số hoàng tử sẽ bị bắt đi làm thái giám cho vua Ba-by-lôn.’”
And of thy sonnes, that shall proceede out of thee, and which thou shalt beget, shall they take away, and they shalbe eunuches in the palace of the King of Babel.
19 Ê-xê-chia nói: “Lời của Chúa Hằng Hữu do tiên tri thuật là lời lành.” Vì vua tự nghĩ: “Ít ra trong đời ta cũng được hòa bình an ổn.”
Then Hezekiah said vnto Isaiah, The word of the Lord which thou hast spoken, is good: for saide he, Shall it not be good, if peace and trueth be in my dayes?
20 Các việc khác của Ê-xê-chia, thế lực của vua, việc xây hồ chứa nước, lập hệ thống dẫn nước vào kinh thành, đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Giu-đa.
Concerning the rest of the actes of Hezekiah, and all his valiant deedes, and howe he made a poole and a cundite, and brought water into the citie, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
21 Ê-xê-chia an giấc với tổ tiên, Ma-na-se, và con trai vua lên kế vị.
And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his sonne reigned in his steade.
