II Các Vua 13
1 Con của Giê-hu là Giô-a-cha lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên vào năm thứ hai mươi ba đời Giô-ách, con A-cha-xia, vua Giu-đa. Giô-a-cha làm vua được mười bảy năm tại Sa-ma-ri.
In the thre and twentithe yeer of Joas, sone of Ocozie, kyng of Juda, Joachaz, sone of Hieu, regnede on Israel, in Samarie seuentene yeer.
2 Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo đường tội lỗi của Giê-rô-bô-am, con Nê-bát, lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên phạm tội. Vua không hề từ bỏ tội lỗi mình.
And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, and he suede the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne; and he bowide not awei fro tho.
3 Vì thế, Chúa Hằng Hữu rất giận Ít-ra-ên. Ngài để cho Ha-xa-ên, vua A-ram và Bên Ha-đát, con Ha-xa-ên liên tục đánh phá Ít-ra-ên.
And the strong veniaunce of the Lord was wrooth ayens Israel, and he bitook hem in to the hondis of Azael, kyng of Sirie, and in the hond of Benadab, sone of Asael, in alle daies.
4 Nhưng đến khi Giô-a-cha cầu cứu Chúa Hằng Hữu, Ngài nhậm lời vua, vì Ngài thấy cảnh vua A-ram áp bức Ít-ra-ên.
Forsothe Joachaz bisouyte the face of the Lord, and the Lord herde hym; for he siy the anguysch of Israel, for the kyng of Sirie hadde al to brokun hem.
5 Chúa Hằng Hữu đã dấy lên một người giải thoát Ít-ra-ên khỏi quyền lực A-ram, và họ lại được sống an hòa như xưa.
And the Lord yaf a sauyour to Israel, and he was delyuered fro the hond of the kyng of Sirie; and the sones of Israel dwelliden in her tabernaclis, as yistirdai and the thridde dai ago.
6 Nhưng rồi, họ lại tiếp tục phạm tội, không từ bỏ đường lối của Giê-rô-bô-am, người đã lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên phạm tội. Họ vẫn thờ cúng thần A-sê-ra tại Sa-ma-ri.

7 Lúc ấy, quân của Giô-a-cha chỉ còn có 50 kỵ binh, 10 chiến xa, và 10.000 bộ binh, vì phần lớn đã bị vua A-ram tiêu diệt như cám trong sân đập lúa.

9 Giô-a-cha an giấc với tổ tiên, được chôn tại Sa-ma-ri. Con vua là Giô-ách lên kế vị.
And Joachaz slepte with hise fadris, and thei birieden hym in Samarie; and Joas, his sone, regnyde for hym.
10 Con của Giô-a-cha là Giô-ách lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên vào năm thứ ba mươi bảy đời Giô-ách vua Giu-đa, và cai trị mười sáu năm tại Sa-ma-ri.
In the seuenthe and threttithe yeer of Joas, king of Juda, Joas, sone of Joachaz, regnede on Israel in Samarie sixtene yeer.
11 Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, không từ bỏ tội của Giê-rô-bô-am, con Nê-bát, lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên phạm tội, nhưng cứ một mực theo đường lối ấy.
And he dide that, that is yuel in the siyt of the Lord; for he bowide not awei fro alle the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne; he yede in tho synnes.
12 Các việc khác của Giô-ách, cùng các trận chiến với A-ma-xia, vua Giu-đa, đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
Forsothe the residue of wordis of Joas, and alle thingis whiche he dide, but also his strengthe, hou he fauyt ayens Amasie, kyng of Juda, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel?
13 Giô-ách an giấc với tổ tiên, được chôn tại Sa-ma-ri cùng với các vua Ít-ra-ên khác. Con Giô-ách là Giê-rô-bô-am II, lên ngôi kế vị.
And Joas slepte with hise fadris; forsothe Jeroboam sat on his trone. Sotheli Joas was biried in Samarie with the kyngis of Israel.
14 Ê-li-sê mắc bệnh nặng và qua đời. Trước khi Ê-li-sê qua đời, Giô-ách, vua Ít-ra-ên có đến thăm. Nhìn vị tiên tri, vua khóc lóc thở than: “Cha ơi! Cha! Xe và kỵ binh của Ít-ra-ên!”
Forsothe Elisee was sijk in sikenesse, bi which and he was deed; and Joas, kyng of Israel, yede doun to hym, and wepte bifor hym, and seide, My fadir! my fadir! the chare of Israel, and the charietere therof!
15 Ê-li-sê bảo Giô-ách: “Lấy cung và tên.” Giô-ách vâng lời.
And Elisee seide to hym, Brynge thou a bouwe and arowis. And whanne he hadde brouyte to Elisee a bouwe and arowis,
16 Tiên tri tiếp: “Mở cửa sổ phía đông.” Vua làm theo. Tiên tri bảo vua giương cung. Giô-ách giương cung. Tiên tri đặt tay mình trên tay vua.
he seide to the kyng of Israel, Set thin hond on the bouwe. And whanne he hadde set his hond, Elisee settide his hondis on the hondis of the
17 Ê-li-sê ra lệnh: “Bắn.” Giô-ách bắn tên đi. Tiên tri nói: “Đó là mũi tên của Chúa Hằng Hữu, tức mũi tên sẽ chiến thắng quân A-ram. Vì vua sẽ đánh tan lực lượng A-ram tại A-phéc.”
kyng, and seide, Opene thou the eest wyndow. And whanne he hadde openyd, Elisee seide, Schete thou an arewe; and he schete. And Elisee seide, It is an arewe of helthe of the Lord, and an arowe of helthe ayens Sirie; and thou schalt smyte Sirie in Affeth, til thou waste it.
18 Tiên tri lại bảo: “Cầm cây tên đập xuống đất.” Vua lấy cây tên đập xuống đất ba lần.
And Elisee seide, Take awei the arowis. And whanne he hadde take awei, Elisee seide eft to him, Smyte thou the erthe with a dart. And whanne he hadde smyte thre tymes,
19 Người của Đức Chúa Trời nổi giận, nói: “Đáng lẽ vua phải đập năm sáu lần, như thế vua mới đánh quân A-ram tiêu tan được. Nhưng thế này vua chỉ thắng họ ba trận thôi.”
and hadde stonde, the man of God was wrooth ayens hym, and seide, If thou haddist smyte fyue sithis, ether sixe sithis, ethir seuen sithis, thou schuldist haue smyte Sirie `til to the endyng; now forsothe thou schalt smyte it thre sithis.
20 Ê-li-sê qua đời và được an táng. Trong thời ấy, quân cướp Mô-áp thường đến cướp phá vào mùa xuân.
Therfor Elisee was deed, and thei birieden hym. And the theuys of Moab camen in to the lond in that yeer.
21 Một hôm, người ta đang đi chôn một người chết, thấy quân cướp đến, họ vội quẳng xác vào mồ Ê-li-sê. Xác vừa đụng xương Ê-li-sê, liền vùng sống lại và đứng lên.
Forsothe sum men birieden a man, and thei siyen the theues, and thei castiden forth the deed bodi in the sepulcre of Elisee; and whanne it hadde touchid the bonys of Elisee, the man lyuede ayen, and stood on his feet.
22 Suốt thời gian Giô-a-cha cai trị, Vua Ha-xa-ên, nước A-ram, áp bức người Ít-ra-ên.
Therfor Azael, kyng of Sirie, turmentide Israel in alle the daies of Joachaz.
23 Nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu vẫn làm ơn cho họ. Vì lòng thương xót và vì giao ước Ngài đã kết với Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, và Gia-cốp, Ngài vẫn không từ bỏ họ và không để họ bị tiêu diệt.
And the Lord hadde merci on hem, and turnede ayen to hem for his couenaunt, which he hadde with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and he nolde distrie hem, nether cast awei outirli, til in to present tyme.
24 Khi Vua Ha-xa-ên, nước A-ram chết, Bên Ha-đát, con Ha-xa-ên lên kế vị.
Forsothe Azael, kyng of Sirie, diede; and Benadad, his sone, regnede for hym.
25 Giô-ách đem quân đánh Bên Ha-đát, con trai Ha-xa-ên, thắng ba trận lớn, chiếm lại các thành Bên Ha-đát đã chiếm của Ít-ra-ên dưới triều Vua Giô-a-cha cha mình.
Forsothe Joas, sone of Joachas, took awei citees fro the hond of Benadad, sone of Asael, which he hadde take bi the riyt of batel fro the hoond of Joachaz, his fadir; Joas smoot hym thre tymes, and he yeldide the citees of Israel.
