II Sử Ký 7

1 Khi Sa-lô-môn cầu nguyện xong, lửa từ trời đổ xuống đốt các tế lễ thiêu và sinh tế, và vinh quang của Chúa Hằng Hữu đầy dẫy Đền Thờ.

And when Salomon had made an ende of praying, fire came downe from heauen, and consumed the burnt offring and the sacrifices: and the glory of the Lord filled the house,

2 Các thầy tế lễ không vào Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu được vì vinh quang của Chúa Hằng Hữu tràn ngập nơi ấy.

So that the Priestes could not euter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lordes house.

3 Toàn dân Ít-ra-ên đều ngắm nhìn quang cảnh lửa đổ xuống và vinh quang Chúa Hằng Hữu đầy dẫy Đền Thờ, họ úp mặt xuống đất trên nền lát đá, thờ phượng và ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu: “Chúa thật toàn thiện! Lòng thương xót Ngài tồn tại đời đời!”

And when all the children of Israel saw the fire, and the glory of the Lord come downe vpon the house, they bowed themselues with their faces to the earth vpon the pauement, and worshipped and praysed the Lord, saying, For he is good, because his mercy lasteth for euer.

4 Rồi vua và toàn dân dâng tế lễ trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu.

Then the King and all the people offred sacrifices before the Lord.

5 Vua Sa-lô-môn dâng sinh tế gồm 22.000 con bò và 120.000 chiên. Và vua cùng toàn dân khánh thành Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời.

And King Salomon offered a sacrifice of two and twentie thousand bullockes, and an hundreth and twentie thousand sheepe. so the King and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6 Các thầy tế lễ vào đúng vị trí ấn định. Các nhạc công người Lê-vi cử nhạc ca ngợi Chúa, dùng các nhạc cụ Vua Đa-vít đã làm để ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu, họ ca ngợi rằng: “Lòng thương xót Chúa còn đến đời đời!” Khi các thầy tế lễ thổi kèn, hội chúng đều đứng.

And the Priests waited on their offices, and the Leuites with the instruments of musicke of the Lord, which King Dauid had made to praise the Lord, Because his mercy lasteth for euer: whe Dauid praysed God by them, the Priestes also blewe trumpets ouer against them: and all they of Israel stoode by.

7 Sa-lô-môn biệt ra thánh khoảng giữa sân trước Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu. Đó là nơi vua đã dâng các tế lễ chay và mỡ tế lễ bình an, vì bàn thờ đồng được Sa-lô-môn làm để dâng tế lễ thiêu và các lễ vật khác không chứa hết vì sinh tế quá nhiều.

Moreouer Salomon halowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord: for there hee had prepared burnt offerings, and the fatte of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Salomon had made, was not able to receiue the burnt offering, and the meate offring, and the fat.

8 Sa-lô-môn cùng toàn dân Ít-ra-ên cử hành lễ suốt bảy ngày. Đoàn dân rất đông từ hướng bắc Ha-mát đến hướng nam Suối Ai Cập.

And Salomon made a feast at that time of seuen dayes, and all Israel with him, a very great Congregation, from the entring in of Hamath, vnto the riuer of Egypt.

9 Ngày thứ tám, họ làm lễ bế mạc, vì họ có lễ cung hiến bàn thờ trong bảy ngày và dự lễ trong bảy ngày nữa.

And in the eight day they made a solemne assemblie: for they had made the dedication of the altar seuen daies, and the feast seuen dayes.

10 Ngày hai mươi ba tháng bảy, Sa-lô-môn cho hội chúng về nhà. Lòng mọi người đều hân hoan vui mừng vì sự nhân từ của Chúa Hằng Hữu đối với Đa-vít, Sa-lô-môn, và toàn dân Ít-ra-ên của Ngài.

And the three and twentieth day of the seuenth moneth, he sent the people away into their tentes, ioyous and with glad heart, because of the goodnesse that the Lord had done for Dauid and for Salomon, and for Israel his people.

11 Sa-lô-môn hoàn thành cuộc xây cất Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu và cung điện. Tất cả mọi điều vua định thực hiện trong Đền Thờ hoặc cung điện đều thành công mỹ mãn.

So Salomon finished the house of the Lord, and the Kings house, and all that came into Salomons heart to make in the house of the Lord: and he prospered in his house.

12 Một đêm, Chúa Hằng Hữu hiện ra với Sa-lô-môn và phán dạy: “Ta đã nghe lời cầu nguyện con, và đã chọn Đền Thờ này cho Ta làm nơi dâng sinh tế.

And the Lord appeared to Salomon by night and said to him, I haue heard thy prayer, and haue chosen this place for my selfe to be an house of sacrifice.

13 Có lúc Ta đóng các tầng trời, không cho mưa sa xuống, hay ra lệnh cho cào cào phá hại đất đai, hoặc giáng bệnh dịch giữa dân Ta.

If I shut the heauen that there be no raine, or if I commaund the grashopper to deuoure the lande, or if I sende pestilence among my people,

14 Và nếu dân Ta, tức là dân được gọi bằng Danh Ta, hạ mình xuống, cầu nguyện, tìm kiếm mặt Ta, lìa bỏ con đường gian ác, khi ấy từ trên trời Ta sẽ lắng nghe, và sẽ tha thứ tội lỗi họ và chữa lành đất nước họ.

If my people, among whome my Name is called vpon, doe humble them selues, and praye, and seeke my presence, and turne from their wicked wayes, then will I heare in heauen, and be mercifull to their sinne, and wil heale their land:

15 Bấy giờ, mắt Ta sẽ đoái xem, tai Ta sẽ lắng nghe lời cầu nguyện tại nơi này.

Then mine eies shalbe open and mine eares attent vnto the prayer made in this place.

16 Vì Ta đã chọn và thánh hóa nhà này cho Danh Ta ngự đời đời. Phải, mắt Ta và lòng Ta sẽ chú vào đó mãi mãi.

For I haue nowe chosen and sanctified this house, that my Name may be there for euer: and mine eyes and mine heart shalbe there perpetually.

17 Còn con, nếu con trung tín theo Ta như Đa-vít, cha con đã làm, tuân theo những điều Ta truyền bảo con, giữ gìn các giới răn và điều luật của Ta,

And if thou wilt walke before me, as Dauid thy father walked, to doe according vnto all that I haue commanded thee, and shalt obserue my statutes and my iudgements,

18 thì Ta sẽ lập vững ngôi con trên đất nước này, như Ta đã giao ước với cha con là Đa-vít: ‘Con sẽ không bao giờ thiếu người ngồi trên ngai Ít-ra-ên.’

Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdome, according as I made the couenant with Dauid thy father, saying, Thou shalt not want a man to be ruler in Israel.

19 Nhưng nếu con xoay lại, lìa bỏ giới răn, mệnh lệnh Ta đã đặt trước mặt con, nếu các con đi thờ lạy và phụng sự các thần khác,

But if ye turne away, and forsake my statutes and my commandements which I haue set before you, and shall goe and serue other gods, and worshippe them,

20 thì Ta sẽ nhổ các con ra khỏi đất nước mà Ta đã ban cho các con. Ta sẽ bỏ Đền Thờ này, dù đã thánh hóa cho Danh Ta. Ta sẽ làm cho nó thành một đề tài chế giễu trong các câu ca dao tục ngữ của các dân tộc.

Then will I plucke them vp out of my lande, which I haue giuen them, and this house which I haue sanctified for my Name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a prouerbe and a common talke among all people.

21 Đền Thờ này, dù cất trên núi cao, cũng sẽ sụp đổ, đến nỗi ai đi ngang cũng đều kinh ngạc, nhún vai tự hỏi: ‘Tại sao Chúa Hằng Hữu để cho đất nước này và Đền Thờ này bị phá hoại như thế?’

And this house which is most hie, shall be an astonishment to euery one that passeth by it, so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus to this lande, and to this house?

22 Rồi người ta sẽ đáp: ‘Vì dân này đã lìa bỏ Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ họ, là Đấng đã đem họ ra khỏi Ai Cập, và theo đuổi các thần khác, quỳ lạy và phụng sự các thần ấy. Nên Chúa giáng các tai họa này trên dân ấy.’”

And they shall answere, Because they forsooke the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the lande of Egypt, and haue taken holde on other gods, and haue worshipped them, and serued them, therefore hath he brought all this euill vpon them.
