II Sử Ký 5
1 Sa-lô-môn hoàn tất các chương trình kiến thiết Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu. Vua đem các bảo vật mà cha vua là Đa-vít đã biệt riêng—gồm bạc, vàng, và các khí dụng cất vào kho tàng Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời.
Once Solomon had finished all the work on the house of the Lord, he brought the holy items of his father David had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and all the various worship items—and he placed them in the treasuries of God's Temple.
2 Sa-lô-môn triệu tập về Giê-ru-sa-lem các trưởng lão Ít-ra-ên, các trưởng đại tộc, và các trưởng tộc của Ít-ra-ên. Họ rước Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu từ Si-ôn, Thành Đa-vít, lên Đền Thờ.
Then Solomon summoned to Jerusalem the elders of Israel—all the heads of the tribes and family leaders of the Israelites—to bring the Ark of the Lord's Agreement from Zion, the City of David.
3 Tất cả người nam của Ít-ra-ên đều tập họp quanh cung vua để cử hành đại lễ vào tháng mười đúng vào dịp Lễ Đền Tạm hằng năm.
So all the Israelites gathered to be with the king at the feast which is in the seventh month.
4 Khi tất cả trưởng lão Ít-ra-ên đến, những người Lê-vi khiêng Hòm đi.
When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites lifted up the Ark.
5 Các thầy tế lễ cùng người Lê-vi khiêng Hòm khỏi Đền Tạm, luôn với các khí cụ thánh.
The priests and Levites brought up the Ark, the Tent of Meeting, were with him were there in front of the Ark.
6 Vua Sa-lô-môn và toàn dân họp quanh vua trước Hòm Giao Ước dâng vô số chiên và bò làm tế lễ, không ai đếm nổi!
They sacrificed so many sheep and cattle that they couldn't be counted!
7 Thầy tế lễ đem Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu đặt vào giữa Đền Thờ, gọi là Nơi Chí Thánh, dưới cánh các chê-ru-bim.
Then the priests brought the Ark of the Lord's Agreement and put placed it in the inner sanctuary of the Temple, the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim.
8 Hai chê-ru-bim có cánh dang ra che phủ bên trên Hòm và đòn khiêng.
The cherubim were spreading their wings over the place where the Ark was, so that the cherubim made a covering above the Ark and its poles.
9 Đòn khiêng dài nên đứng tại phòng chính của đền thờ là Nơi Thánh có thể thấy hai đầu mút đòn nhô ra, người đứng bên ngoài không trông thấy được. Hòm còn tại đó cho đến ngày nay.
The poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the Most Holy Place, but not from outside. They are there to this day.
10 Trong Hòm chỉ có hai bảng đá mà Môi-se đã khắc tại Hô-rếp, là nơi Chúa Hằng Hữu lập giao ước với người Ít-ra-ên khi đem họ ra khỏi Ai Cập.
Inside the Ark there was nothing except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Mount Sinai, where the Lord had made an agreement with the people of Israel when they came out of Egypt.
11 Rồi các thầy tế lễ ra khỏi Nơi Chí Thánh. Tất cả thầy tế lễ hiện diện phải dọn mình thánh sạch, dù không phải đến phiên họ hành lễ.
Then the priests came out of the Holy Place. All the priests who were there had purified themselves, whatever their division.
12 Các nhạc công người Lê-vi là A-sáp, Hê-man, Giê-đu-thun, cùng tất cả con cái và anh em của họ đều mặc lễ phục bằng vải gai mịn, đứng tại phía đông bàn thờ chơi chập chõa, đàn lia, và đàn hạc. Họ cùng với 120 thầy tế lễ hòa tấu bằng kèn.
All the Levites who were singers—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar. They were dressed in fine linen, striking cymbals, playing harps and lyres, and accompanied by one hundred and twenty priests sounding trumpets.
13 Những người thổi kèn và người ca hát cùng nhau hợp xướng tụng ngợi và cảm tạ Chúa Hằng Hữu. Hòa với tiếng kèn, tiếng chập chõa, cùng các nhạc cụ khác, họ cất cao giọng ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu rằng: “Chúa thật toàn thiện! Đức nhân từ Ngài thể hiện đời đời!” Ngay lúc ấy, một đám mây phủ đầy Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu.
The trumpeters and singers joined together with one voice to praise and thank the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments, the singers raised their voices, praising the Lord: “For he is good; his trustworthy love lasts forever.” Then the Temple, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud.
14 Các thầy tế lễ không thể tiếp tục phục vụ trong Đền Thờ được, vì vinh quang của Chúa Hằng Hữu đầy dẫy trên Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời.
The priests could not stand up to continue with the service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord had filled the Temple of God.
