1 Toàn dân tôn con Giô-si-a là Giô-a-cha lên ngôi kế vị tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Therfor the puple of the lond took Joachaz, the sone of Josie, and ordeynede hym kyng for his fadir in Jerusalem.
2 Giô-a-cha được hai mươi ba tuổi khi lên ngôi và cai trị Giê-ru-sa-lem chỉ được ba tháng.
Joachaz was of thre and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede thre monethis in Jerusalem.
3 Vua Ai Cập truất ngôi Giô-a-cha và bắt Giu-đa cống nạp 3,4 tấn bạc và 34 ký vàng.
Sotheli the kyng of Egipt, `whan he hadde come to Jerusalem, remouyde hym, and condempnede the lond in an hundrid talentis of siluer and in a talent of gold.
4 Vua Ai Cập lập Ê-li-a-kim, em Giô-a-cha, làm vua Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem, và đổi tên vua là Giê-hô-gia-kim. Rồi Nê-cô bắt Giô-a-cha giải qua Ai Cập.
And he ordeynede for hym Eliachim, his brother, kyng on Juda and Jerusalem; and turnede his name Joakym. Sotheli he took thilk Joachaz with hym silf, and brouyte in to Egipt.
5 Giê-hô-gia-kim được hai mươi lăm tuổi khi lên ngôi, và trị vì được mười một năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, là Đức Chúa Trời của mình.
Joakym was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde eleuene yeer in Jerusalem, and he dide yuel bifor `his Lord God.
6 Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, tấn công Giê-ru-sa-lem rồi Giu-đa, bắt vua xiềng lại bằng xích đồng và giải về Ba-by-lôn.
Nabugodonosor, kyng of Caldeis, styede ayens this Joakym, and ledde hym boundun with chaynes in to Babiloyne.
7 Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa cũng chiếm đoạt một số dụng cụ trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu đem về và trưng bày trong miếu thờ ở Ba-by-lôn.
To which Babiloyne he translatide also the vessels of the Lord, and settide tho in his temple.
8 Các việc khác trong thời trị vì của Giê-hô-gia-kim, những việc ác vua đã làm và tâm địa xấu xa của vua đều được chép trong Sách Các Vua Ít-ra-ên và Giu-đa. Con ông là Giê-hô-gia-kin lên ngôi kế vị.
Sotheli the residue of wordis of Joakym, and of hise abhomynaciouns whiche he wrouyte, and that weren foundun in hym, ben conteyned in the book of kyngis of Israel and of Juda. Therfor Joachym, his sone, regnede for hym.
9 Giê-hô-gia-kin được mười tám tuổi khi lên ngôi, và trị vì chỉ được ba tháng mười ngày tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Giê-hô-gia-kin làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu.
Joachym was of eiyte yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede thre monethis and ten daies in Jerusalem, and he dide yuel in the siyt of the Lord.
10 Đến đầu năm sau, vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa sai bắt giải Giê-hô-gia-kin qua Ba-by-lôn, cùng cướp đi nhiều dụng cụ quý giá trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, rồi lập Sê-đê-kia, chú của Giê-hô-gia-kin, làm vua Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem.
And whanne the cercle of the yeer was turned aboute, Nabugodonosor the kynge sente men, whiche also brouyten hym in to Babiloyne, whanne the moost preciouse vessels of the hows of the Lord weren borun out togidir. Sotheli he ordeynede Sedechie, his fadris brother, kyng on Juda and Jerusalem.
11 Sê-đê-kia được hai mươi mốt tuổi khi lên ngôi và trị vì mười một năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Sedechie was of oon and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede eleuene yeer in Jerusalem.
12 Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời mình, và không chịu hạ mình trước mặt Tiên tri Giê-rê-mi, người đã truyền đạt cho vua lời của Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And he dide yuel in the siyt of `his Lord God, and he was not aschamed of the face of Jeremye, the prophete, spekynge to hym bi the mouth of the Lord.
13 Vua cũng nổi loạn chống lại Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, trái với lời thề trong Danh Đức Chúa Trời. Sê-đê-kia ngoan cố và cứng lòng, không chịu quay về với Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
Also he yede awey fro the kyng Nabugodonosor, that hadde made hym to swere bi God; and he made hard his nol and herte, that he nolde turne ayen to the Lord of Israel.
14 Hơn nữa, tất cả lãnh đạo của thầy tế lễ và toàn dân ngày càng bất trung. Họ theo các thần tượng ghê tởm của các dân tộc lân bang, làm hoen ố Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu đã được thánh hóa tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
But also alle the princes of preestis and the puple trespassiden wickidli, bi alle abhomynaciouns of hethene men; and thei defouliden the hows of the Lord, which he halewide to hym silf in Jerusalem.
15 Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ họ đã nhiều lần sai các tiên tri của Ngài đến kêu gọi họ vì lòng thương xót dân Ngài và Đền Thờ Ngài.
Forsothe the Lord God of her fadris sente to hem bi the hond of hise messangeris, and roos bi nyyt, and amonestide ech day; for he sparide his puple and dwellyng place.
16 Tuy nhiên, họ chế giễu các sứ giả của Đức Chúa Trời và khinh bỉ lời Ngài. Họ đối xử cách lừa dối với các tiên tri cho đến khi cơn phẫn nộ Chúa Hằng Hữu đổ xuống không phương cứu chữa.
And thei scorneden the messangeris of God, and dispisiden hise wordis, and scorneden hise prophetis; til the greet veniaunce of the Lord stiede on his puple, and noon heelyng were.
17 Chúa Hằng Hữu khiến vua Ba-by-lôn tấn công họ, tàn sát các thanh niên của Giu-đa, đuổi theo họ đến Đền Thờ. Họ thật không chút thương xót, giết cả thanh niên nam nữ, người già, và người ốm yếu. Đức Chúa Trời giao nạp họ vào tay Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa.
And he brouyte on hem the kyng of Caldeis; and killide the yonge men of hem `bi swerd in the hows of seyntuarie; `he hadde not merci of a yong `man, and of a vergyn, and of an eld man, and sotheli nether of a man niy the deth for eldnesse, but he bitook alle in the hond of that king of Caldeis.
18 Vua lấy tất cả dụng cụ trong Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời về Ba-by-lôn, bất luận lớn nhỏ, các bảo vật trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu và trong kho của vua và các quan viên.
And he translatide in to Babiloyne alle the vessels of the hows of the Lord, bothe the grettere and the lasse vessels, and the tresours of the temple, and of the kyng, and of the princes.
19 Quân địch phóng lửa Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời, phá vỡ các tường lũy Giê-ru-sa-lem, thiêu rụi các cung điện, dinh thự, và phá hủy tất cả vật dụng quý giá.
Enemyes brenten the hows of the Lord; thei distrieden the wal of Jerusalem; thei brenten alle the touris; and thei distrieden what euer thing was preciouse.
20 Những người còn sống sót sau cuộc tàn sát bằng gươm đều bị bắt qua Ba-by-lôn làm nô lệ cho vua và con của vua cho đến thời đế quốc Ba Tư nắm quyền.
If ony man ascapide the swerd, he was led in to Babiloyne, and seruyde the kyng and hise sones; til the kyng of Peersis regnyde,
21 Vậy, sứ điệp của Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán truyền qua Giê-rê-mi đã được ứng nghiệm. Cuối cùng, đất cũng được nghỉ những năm Sa-bát, tức trọn những ngày bị hoang tàn đến bảy mươi năm như lời tiên tri đã loan báo.
and the word of the Lord bi the mouth of Jeremye was fillid, and til the lond halewide hise sabatis. For in alle the daies of desolacioun it made sabat, til that seuenti yeer weren fillid.
22 Vào năm thứ nhất triều Si-ru, vua Ba Tư, lời tiên tri của Giê-rê-mi được ứng nghiệm. Chúa Hằng Hữu giục lòng vua ra tuyên cáo trong khắp đế quốc, nội dung như sau:
Forsothe in the firste yeer of Cyrus, kyng of Persis, to fille the word of the Lord, which he hadde spoke bi the mouth of Jeremye, the Lord reiside the spirit of Cirus, king of Persis, that comaundide to be prechid in al his rewme, yhe, bi scripture, and seide, Cirus,
23 “Đây là điều Vua Si-ru, nước Ba Tư tuyên bố: Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời trên trời, đã ban cho ta tất cả vương quốc trên đất. Ngài ủy thác cho ta nhiệm vụ kiến thiết Đền Thờ cho Ngài tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, xứ Giu-đa. Trong tất cả thần dân, ai là con dân Chúa Hằng Hữu, hãy quay về đất nước mình. Cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi ở cùng các ngươi!”
the king of Persis, seith these thingis, The Lord God of heuene yaf to me alle the rewmes of erthe, and he comaundide to me, that Y schulde bilde to hym an hows in Jerusalem, which is in Judee. Who of you is in al his puple? `his Lord God be with hym, and stie he `in to Jerusalem.
