II Sử Ký 33
1 Ma-na-se được mười hai tuổi khi lên ngôi và cai trị năm mươi lăm năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Manasseh is a son of twelve years in his reigning, and he has reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem;
2 Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu và bắt chước các thói tục ghê tởm của các dân tộc nên bị Chúa trục xuất trước mắt người Ít-ra-ên.
and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the abominations of the nations that YHWH dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
3 Vua xây cất lại các miếu tà thần mà Ê-xê-chia, cha mình đã phá đổ. Vua lập bàn thờ thần Ba-anh, tạc tượng các thần A-sê-ra. Vua cũng thờ lạy và phụng sự các ngôi sao trên trời.
and he turns and builds the high places that his father Hezekiah has broken down, and raises altars for Ba‘alim, and makes Asherim, and bows himself to all the host of the heavens, and serves them.
4 Vua xây các bàn thờ tà thần ngay trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, là nơi Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán: “Ta sẽ đặt Danh Ta tại Giê-ru-sa-lem mãi mãi.”
And he has built altars in the house of YHWH of which YHWH had said, “My Name is in Jerusalem for all time.”
5 Vua xây bàn thờ cho tất cả tinh tú trên trời trong hai hành lang Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And he builds altars for all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of YHWH.
6 Ma-na-se còn dâng các con trai mình cho tà thần qua ngọn lửa trong thung lũng Bên Hi-nôm. Vua cũng theo quỷ thuật, bói khoa, phù phép, và dùng các đồng cốt và thầy phù thủy. Vua tiếp tục làm đủ thứ tội ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu để chọc giận Ngài.
And he has caused his sons to pass over through fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he has multiplied to do evil in the eyes of YHWH, to provoke him to anger.
7 Vua đặt một tượng tà thần mà vua đã tạc vào Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời, dù Đức Chúa Trời đã phán bảo Đa-vít và con người là Sa-lô-môn: “Ta sẽ mãi mãi đặt Danh Ta tại Đền Thờ này trong thành Giê-ru-sa-lem mà Ta đã chọn giữa các đại tộc Ít-ra-ên.
And he places the carved image of the idol that he made in the house of God, of which God said to David, and to his son Solomon, “In this house, and in Jerusalem that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My Name for all time,
8 Ta sẽ không trục xuất dân này khỏi đất nước Ta đã ban cho tổ phụ họ, nếu họ cẩn thận tuân hành mọi điều Ta dạy trong luật pháp, các giới răn, và mệnh lệnh do Môi-se truyền lại.”
and I do not add to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them—to all the Law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.”
9 Nhưng Ma-na-se lôi kéo toàn dân Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem phạm tội ác còn ghê tởm hơn các dân tộc mà Chúa Hằng Hữu đã tiêu diệt trước khi người Ít-ra-ên tiến vào vùng đất đó.
And Manasseh causes Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that YHWH destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.
10 Chúa Hằng Hữu cảnh cáo Ma-na-se và toàn dân nhưng họ không chịu nghe.
And YHWH speaks to Manasseh and to his people, and they have not attended,
11 Vì thế, Chúa Hằng Hữu sai các tướng chỉ huy quân đội A-sy-ri đến bắt Ma-na-se làm tù binh. Chúng dùng móc sắt, xiềng lại bằng xích đồng và dẫn vua qua Ba-by-lôn.
and YHWH brings in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur has, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with bronze chains, and cause him to go to Babylon.
12 Gặp hoạn nạn khủng khiếp, Ma-na-se mới tìm kiếm Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời của mình và hết sức hạ mình trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ mình.
And when he is in distress he has appeased the face of his God YHWH, and is exceedingly humbled before the God of his fathers,
13 Khi vua cầu nguyện, Chúa Hằng Hữu nhậm lời, lắng nghe lời van nài của vua. Vậy, Chúa Hằng Hữu đem vua về Giê-ru-sa-lem và vương quốc của vua. Ma-na-se nhìn biết rằng chỉ có Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời!
and prays to Him, and He accepts his plea, and hears his supplication, and brings him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom, and Manasseh knows that He, YHWH, [is] God.
14 Sau đó, Ma-na-se xây tường lũy rất cao quanh Thành Đa-vít, phía tây Ghi-hôn trong Thung lũng Kít-rôn cho đến tận Cổng Cá, bọc quanh Ô-phên. Vua bổ nhiệm các tướng chỉ huy quân đội để phòng thủ các thành kiên cố trong nước Giu-đa.
And after this he has built an outer wall for the City of David, on the west of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entering in at the Fish Gate, and it has gone around to the tower, and he makes it exceedingly high, and he puts heads of the force in all the cities of the bulwarks in Judah.
15 Ma-na-se dẹp bỏ các thần nước ngoài, các hình tượng vua đã dựng trong Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu và phá bỏ các bàn thờ tà thần vua đã xây trên đồi thuộc khu vực của Đền Thờ và tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, rồi vứt hết ra bên ngoài thành.
And he turns aside the gods of the stranger, and the idol, out of the house of YHWH, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of YHWH and in Jerusalem, and casts [them] to the outside of the city.
16 Rồi vua xây bàn thờ cho Chúa Hằng Hữu, dâng các tế lễ bình an cùng cảm tạ và bảo toàn dân Giu-đa phụng sự Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
And he builds the altar of YHWH, and sacrifices on it sacrifices of peace-offerings and thank-offering, and commands to Judah to serve YHWH, God of Israel;
17 Tuy nhiên, dân chúng vẫn còn dâng tế lễ trên các đỉnh núi đồi, dù chỉ có Chúa, là Đức Chúa Trời của họ.
but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only—to their God YHWH.
18 Các việc trị vì của Ma-na-se, lời vua cầu nguyện với Đức Chúa Trời, các sứ điệp của các nhà tiên tri nhân danh Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên nói với vua đều được chép trong Sách Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the matters of the seers, those speaking to him in the Name of YHWH, God of Israel, behold, they are [on the scroll of] the matters of the kings of Israel;
19 Bài cầu nguyện của Ma-na-se, cách Đức Chúa Trời nhậm lời, cũng như các tội ác, vi phạm của vua, các địa điểm vua lập các miếu thờ, các hình tượng, tượng thần A-sê-ra và tượng chạm trong thời gian vua chưa hạ mình đầu phục Chúa đều được chép trong Ký Lục của Nhà Tiên Kiến.
and his prayer, and his plea, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the Asherim and the carved images before his being humbled, behold, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.
20 Ma-na-se qua đời, được an táng ngay trong hoàng cung. Con vua là A-môn lên ngôi kế vị cha.
And Manasseh lies with his fathers, and they bury him in his own house, and his son Amon reigns in his stead.
21 A-môn được hai mươi hai tuổi khi lên ngôi và chỉ trị vì được hai năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Amon [is] a son of twenty-two years in his reigning, and he has reigned two years in Jerusalem,
22 A-môn làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu như Ma-na-se, cha mình đã làm trước kia. A-môn dâng tế lễ và phục vụ các tượng chạm mà Ma-na-se, cha mình đã làm.
and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, as his father Manasseh did, and Amon has sacrificed to all the carved images that his father Manasseh had made, and serves them,
23 Nhưng không như vua cha Ma-na-se, vua ngoan cố không chịu hạ mình trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu. A-môn phạm tội còn nặng hơn cha mình.
and has not been humbled before YHWH, like the humbling of his father Manasseh, for Amon himself has multiplied guilt.
24 Các đại thần âm mưu phản nghịch và ám sát vua ngay trong hoàng cung.
And his servants conspire against him and put him to death in his own house,
25 Nhưng dân trong xứ nổi lên giết hại tất cả những ai chống lại Vua A-môn rồi tôn con vua là Giô-si-a lên ngôi kế vị.
and the people of the land strike all those conspiring against King Amon, and the people of the land cause his son Josiah to reign in his stead.
