II Sử Ký 23

1 Bảy năm sau, Giê-hô-gia-đa quyết định hành động. Ông lấy hết can đảm và liên kết với năm tướng chỉ huy quân đội: A-xa-ria, con Giê-rô-ham, Ích-ma-ên, con Giô-ha-nan, A-xa-ria, con Ô-bết, Ma-a-xê-gia, con A-đa-gia, và Ê-li-sa-phát, con Xiếc-ri.

And in the year seventh he strengthened himself Jehoiada and he took [the] commanders of the hundreds to Azariah [the] son of Jeroham and to Ishmael [the] son of Jehohanan and to Azariah [the] son of Obed and with Maaseiah [the] son of Adaiah and with Elishaphat [the] son of Zikri with himself in covenant.

2 Họ đi khắp đất Giu-đa, triệu tập cấp lãnh đạo người Lê-vi và các trưởng tộc của người Ít-ra-ên về Giê-ru-sa-lem.

And they went around in Judah and they gathered the Levites from all [the] cities of Judah and [the] heads of the fathers of Israel and they came to Jerusalem.

3 Họ tập trung tại Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời, họ trân trọng kết ước với Giô-ách, vị vua trẻ. Giê-gô-gia-đa tuyên bố: “Đây là con trai của vua. Thời gian đã đến cho người lên cai trị! Chúa Hằng Hữu đã hứa con cháu Đa-vít sẽ làm vua chúng ta.

And it made all the assembly a covenant in [the] house of God with the king and he said to them here! [the] son of the king he will reign just as he spoke Yahweh on [the] sons of David.

4 Đây là điều các ngươi sẽ làm. Trong số các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi đến phiên trực ngày Sa-bát, một phần ba có nhiệm vụ canh gác cổng thành.

This [is] the thing which you will do the third [part] of you [who] come of the sabbath to the priests and to the Levites [will become] [the] gatekeepers of the thresholds.

5 Một phần ba trấn giữ cung vua, và một phần ba đóng tại Cổng Giê-sốt. Những người khác sẽ ở tại sân Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu.

And the third [part] [will be] at [the] house of the king and the third [part] [will be] at [the] gate of the foundation and all the people [will be] in [the] courts of [the] house of Yahweh.

6 Hãy nhớ chỉ trừ các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi có công tác được vào Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, vì họ là những người đã được thánh hóa. Những người còn lại phải tuân lệnh của Chúa Hằng Hữu và đứng bên ngoài.

And may not anyone go [the] house of Yahweh that except the priests and those [who] are serving of the Levites they they will go for [are] holiness they and all the people they will keep [the] duty of Yahweh.

7 Người Lê-vi phải xếp thành đoàn bảo vệ quanh vua và giữ khí giới trong tay. Ai đột nhập vào Đền Thờ sẽ bị giết. Hãy theo sát từng bước mỗi khi vua di chuyển.”

And they will surround the Levites the king all around each man and weapons his in hand his and the [one who] comes into the house he will be put to death and be with the king when comes he and when goes out he.

8 Mọi người Lê-vi và Giu-đa đều vâng theo lệnh của Thầy Tế lễ Giê-hô-gia-đa. Các tướng chỉ huy hướng dẫn anh em thuộc nhóm ngày Sa-bát cũng như nhóm nghỉ việc ngày Sa-bát. Vì Thầy Tế lễ Giê-hô-gia-đa không cho phép ai về nhà sau phiên trực của mình.

And they did the Levites and all Judah according to all that he had commanded Jehoiada the priest and they took each men his [who] were coming of the sabbath with [who] were going out of the sabbath for not he dismissed Jehoiada the priest the divisions.

9 Giê-hô-gia-đa lấy các giáo và khiên, cả nhỏ lẫn lớn, từ trong kho Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời ra phát cho các tướng chỉ huy. Đây là khí giới của Vua Đa-vít ngày trước.

And he gave Jehoiada the priest to [the] commanders of the hundreds the spears and the shields and the shields which [had belonged] to the king David which [were] [the] house of God.

10 Ông sắp đặt người đứng quanh vua, với khí giới sẵn sàng. Họ sắp thành hàng dài từ phía nam đến phía bắc của Đền Thờ và chung quanh các bàn thờ.

And he stationed all the people and each - weapon his [was] in hand his from [the] side of the house south to [the] side of the house north to the altar and to the house at the king all around.

11 Giê-hô-gia-đa và các con mình rước Giô-ách, con vua ra, đội vương miện lên đầu, và trao bộ luật của Đức Chúa Trời cho người. Họ xức dầu cho người và tuyên bố người là vua, mọi người cùng tung hô: “Vua vạn tuế!”

And they brought out [the] son of the king and they put on him the crown and the testimony and they made king him and they anointed him Jehoiada and sons his and they said may he live the king.

12 Khi A-tha-li nghe tiếng chân người chạy và tiếng chúc tụng vua, bà vội vã đến Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu để xem việc đang xảy ra.

And she heard Athaliah [the] sound of the people who were running and who were praising the king and she came to the people [the] house of Yahweh.

13 Khi đến nơi bà thấy vua đứng trên bệ đặt gần cổng ra vào của Đền Thờ. Các tướng chỉ huy và các nhạc sĩ thổi kèn đứng chung quanh vua, dân chúng các nơi kéo đến, hân hoan và thổi kèn. Những người ca hát với các nhạc công hòa điệu dưới quyền điều khiển của người hướng dẫn. Thấy thế, A-tha-li xé áo kêu la: “Phản loạn! Phản loạn!”

And she saw and there! the king [was] standing at pillar his at the entrance and the officials and the trumpets [were] with the king and all [the] people of the land [was] joyful and [was] giving a blast on trumpets and the singers with [the] instruments of song [were] leading to praise and she tore Athaliah clothes her and she said treason treason.

14 Thầy Tế lễ Giê-hô-gia-đa ra lệnh cho các tướng chỉ huy quân đội: “Hãy giải bà ấy đến những người lính phía ngoài Đền Thờ, và giết ai muốn cứu bà ấy.” Vì thầy tế lễ có nói: “Không thể giết bà ấy trong Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu.”

And he sent out Jehoiada the priest [the] commanders of the hundreds - [the] officers of the army and he said to them bring out her to from between the ranks and the [one who] goes after her he will be put to death with the sword for he had said the priest not you must put to death her [the] house of Yahweh.

15 Họ giải bà đến lối ra vào của Cổng Ngựa trong hoàng cung, rồi giết bà tại đó.

And they put to her hands and she went to [the] entrance of [the] gate of the horses [the] house of the king and they put to death her there.

16 Giê-hô-gia-đa lập giao ước giữa ông với vua và toàn dân rằng họ cam kết làm dân Chúa Hằng Hữu.

And he made Jehoiada a covenant between himself and between all the people and between the king to become a people of Yahweh.

17 Sau đó, toàn dân kéo đến miếu Ba-anh và phá bỏ nó. Họ đập nát bàn thờ và tượng Ba-anh, giết Ma-than, là thầy tế lễ của Ba-anh, trước bàn thờ tà thần.

And they went all the people [the] house of Baal and they pulled down it and altars its and images its they broke and Mattan [the] priest of Baal they killed before the altars.

18 Bấy giờ Giê-hô-gia-đa giao nhiệm vụ coi sóc Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu cho các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi, theo như các chỉ dẫn của Đa-vít. Ông cũng ra lệnh họ dâng tế lễ thiêu lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, như lệnh truyền trong Luật Môi-se, hát và ngợi tôn như Đa-vít đã chỉ thị.

And he put Jehoiada [the] oversight of [the] house of Yahweh in [the] hand of the priests the Levites whom he had assigned David over [the] house of Yahweh to offer up [the] burnt offerings of Yahweh according to [what] is written in [the] law of Moses with joy and with song on [the] hands of David.

19 Giê-hô-gia-đa cũng đặt người gác cổng kiểm soát nghiêm nhặt, không cho những người ô uế vào Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu.

And he stationed the gatekeepers at [the] gates of [the] house of Yahweh and not he came a [person] unclean to any matter.

20 Ông hướng dẫn các tướng chỉ huy, các nhà quý tộc, các nhà lãnh đạo, và toàn thể dân chúng rước vua từ Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu. Họ đi qua cổng trên để vào hoàng cung và họ đặt vua ngồi trên ngai hoàng tộc.

And he took [the] commanders of the hundreds and the nobles and the rulers over the people and - all [the] people of the land and he brought down the king from [the] house of Yahweh and they came in [the] middle of [the] gate upper [the] house of the king and they made sit the king on [the] throne of royalty.

21 Toàn dân trong xứ đều vui mừng, và kinh thành trở nên an bình sau khi A-tha-li bị giết.

And they rejoiced all [the] people of the land and the city it was at peace and Athaliah they had put to death with the sword.
