II Sử Ký 11
1 Khi Rô-bô-am về kinh đô Giê-ru-sa-lem, ông ra lệnh tập họp những người nam của Giu-đa và Bên-gia-min—quân số lên tới 180.000 chiến sĩ—tấn công Ít-ra-ên để lấy lại vương quốc của ông.
And he came Rehoboam Jerusalem and he called together [the] house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen [man] maker[s] of war to do battle with Israel to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu phán với Sê-ma-gia, người của Đức Chúa Trời rằng:
And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Shemaiah [the] man of God saying.
3 “Hãy bảo Rô-bô-am, con Sa-lô-môn, vua Giu-đa, và người Ít-ra-ên thuộc Giu-đa và Bên-gia-min:
Say to Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon [the] king of Judah and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin saying.
4 ‘Đây là lời Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Các ngươi không được tấn công anh em mình. Tất cả hãy đi về nhà, vì việc này xảy ra do Ta sắp đặt!”’” Vậy, họ vâng lời Chúa Hằng Hữu, quay về nhà và bỏ ý định chinh phạt Giê-rô-bô-am.
Thus he says Yahweh not you must go up and not you must do battle with countrymen your return everyone to own house his for from with me it has occurred the thing this and they obeyed [the] words of Yahweh and they turned back from going against Jeroboam.
5 Rô-bô-am trị vì tại Giê-ru-sa-lem và củng cố các thành lũy phòng thủ trên khắp đất Giu-đa.
And he dwelt Rehoboam in Jerusalem and he built cities to fortification in Judah.
6 Ông xây Bết-lê-hem, Ê-tam, Thê-cô-a,
And he built Beth-lehem and Etam and Tekoa.
7 Bết-sua, Sô-cô, A-đu-lam,
And Beth Zur and Socoh and Adullam.
8 Gát, Ma-rê-sa, Xíp,
And Gath and Mareshah and Ziph.
9 A-đô-rim, La-ki, A-xê-ca
And Adoraim and Lachish and Azekah.
10 Xô-ra, A-gia-lôn, và Hếp-rôn. Đó là các thành lũy vững chắc trong Giu-đa và Bên-gia-min.
And Zorah and Aijalon and Hebron which [were] in Judah and in Benjamin cities of fortifications.
11 Rô-bô-am củng cố các căn cứ, đặt các tướng chỉ huy, và ông dự trữ thực phẩm, dầu ô-liu, và rượu.
And he strengthened the fortifications and he put in them commanders and supplies of food and oil and wine.
12 Trong mỗi thành, vua cũng tăng cường khiên và giáo trong các thành này để củng cố việc phòng thủ. Vậy, chỉ có Giu-đa và Bên-gia-min thuộc quyền kiểm soát của vua.
And [were] in every city and a city body shields and spears and he made strong them to abundance exceedingly and it belonged to him Judah and Benjamin.
13 Các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi thuộc các đại tộc phía Bắc của Ít-ra-ên đều ủng hộ Rô-bô-am.
And the priests and the Levites who [were] in all Israel they took their stand at him from all territory their.
14 Người Lê-vi bỏ đồng cỏ và sản nghiệp, kéo về xứ Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem, vì Giê-rô-bô-am và các con trai vua không cho họ làm thầy tế lễ phục vụ Chúa Hằng Hữu nữa.
For they forsook the Levites pasture lands their and property their and they went to Judah and to Jerusalem for he had rejected them Jeroboam and sons his from serving as priests to Yahweh.
15 Giê-rô-bô-am cử các thầy tế lễ của ông để tế tự các miếu thờ tà giáo, nơi họ thờ phượng các thần bò con và thần dê mà Giê-rô-bô-am đã làm.
And he appointed for himself priests for the high places and for the goats and for the calves which he had made.
16 Tuy nhiên, trong tất cả các đại tộc Ít-ra-ên, những người nào có lòng tìm kiếm Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên đều theo người Lê-vi lên Giê-ru-sa-lem để dâng tế lễ cho Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ mình.
And after them from all [the] tribes of Israel those [who] set heart their to seek Yahweh [the] God of Israel they came Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
17 Họ làm vững mạnh vương quốc Giu-đa và ủng hộ Rô-bô-am, con Sa-lô-môn, suốt ba năm và đi theo đường lối của Đa-vít và Sa-lô-môn.
And they strengthened [the] kingdom of Judah and they strengthened Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon for years three for they walked in [the] way of David and Solomon for years three.
18 Rô-bô-am cưới Ma-ha-lát, con Giê-ri-mốt, cháu Đa-vít và A-bi-ga-in, con Ê-li-áp, cháu Gie-sê.
And he took for himself Rehoboam a wife Mahalath ([the] daughter of *Q(K)*) Jerimoth [the] son of David Abihail [the] daughter of Eliab [the] son of Jesse.
19 Ma-ha-lát sinh được ba con trai: Giê-úc, Sê-ma-ria, và Xa-ham.
And she bore to him sons Jeush and Shemariah and Zaham.
20 Về sau, Rô-bô-am cũng cưới Ma-a-ca, con Áp-sa-lôm. Ma-a-ca sinh bốn con là A-bi-gia, Ạt-tai, Xi-xa, và Sê-lô-mít.
And after her he took Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom and she bore to him Abijah and Attai and Ziza and Shelomith.
21 Rô-bô-am yêu Ma-a-ca hơn bất cứ các bà vợ và cung phi nào khác của vua. Vua có tất cả mười tám vợ và sáu mươi cung phi, và họ sinh cho ông hai mươi tám con trai và sáu mươi con gái.
And he loved Rehoboam Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom more than all wives his and concubines his for wives eight-teen he had taken and concubines sixty and he fathered twenty and eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 Rô-bô-am lập A-bi-gia, con Ma-a-ca, làm thái tử, rõ ràng ông muốn đưa con ấy lên kế vị.
And he appointed to the chief Rehoboam Abijah [the] son of Maacah to leader among brothers his for to make king him.
23 Rô-bô-am khéo léo phân tán các hoàng tử khắp các tỉnh trong xứ Giu-đa và Bên-gia-min, đặt họ trong các thành có thành lũy kiên cố. Vua cung cấp lương thực dồi dào cho họ và cưới cho họ nhiều vợ.
And he acted wisely and he distributed some of all sons his to all [the] lands of Judah and Benjamin to all [the] cities of fortifications and he gave to them food to abundance and he sought a multitude of wives.
