I Sa-mu-ên 3
1 Sa-mu-ên trong tuổi thơ ấu phục vụ Chúa Hằng Hữu dưới sự hướng dẫn của Hê-li. Lúc ấy Chúa Hằng Hữu ít khi phán trực tiếp hay dùng khải tượng để dạy bảo loài người.
Forsothe the child Samuel `mynystride to the Lord bifor Heli, and the word of the Lord was preciouse; in tho daies was noon opyn reuelacioun.
2 Nhưng một đêm nọ, khi Hê-li đang nằm trên giường, bấy giờ mắt ông làng, không thấy rõ.
Therfor it was doon in a dai, Heli lay in his bed, and hise iyen dasewiden, and he myyte not se the lanterne of God, bifor that it was quenchid.
3 Ngọn đèn của Đức Chúa Trời đang cháy, và Sa-mu-ên đang ngủ trong Đền Tạm, là nơi đặt Hòm Giao Ước của Đức Chúa Trời.
Forsothe Samuel slepte in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was.
4 Thình lình có tiếng của Chúa Hằng Hữu gọi: “Sa-mu-ên!” Sa-mu-ên thưa: “Dạ, con đây!”
And the Lord clepide Samuel; and he answeride and seide, Lo!
5 Rồi cậu chạy đến cạnh Hê-li: “Ông vừa gọi con?” Hê-li đáp: “Ta không có gọi con. Hãy ngủ đi!” Vậy cậu lại đi nằm.
Y. And he ran to Hely, and seide to hym, Lo! Y; for thou clepidist me. Which Hely seide, Y clepide not thee; turne thou ayen and slepe.
6 Chúa Hằng Hữu lại gọi lần nữa: “Sa-mu-ên!” Sa-mu-ên vùng dậy, chạy đến Hê-li: “Dạ, con đây, ông gọi con có chuyện gì?” Hê-li nói: “Ta có gọi con đâu, con đi ngủ đi!”
And he yede and slepte. And the Lord addide eft to clepe Samuel; and Samuel roos, and yede to Hely, and seide, Lo! Y; for thou clepidist me. And Heli answeride, Y clepide not thee, my sone; turne thou ayen and slepe.
7 Sa-mu-ên chưa nhận biết Chúa Hằng Hữu vì cậu chưa bao giờ nhận sứ điệp từ Chúa Hằng Hữu.
Forsothe Samuel knew not yit the Lord, nether the `word of the Lord was shewid to hym.
8 Chúa Hằng Hữu lại gọi lần thứ ba. Sa-mu-ên lại chạy đến Hê-li thưa: “Dạ, ông gọi con có việc gì?” Bây giờ, Hê-li mới hiểu chính Chúa Hằng Hữu gọi Sa-mu-ên.
And the Lord addide, and clepide yit Samuel the thridde tyme; `which Samuel roos and yede to Heli,
9 Vậy ông nói với Sa-mu-ên: “Con đi nằm lại đi. Nếu Chúa gọi lần nữa, con thưa: ‘Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, xin Ngài dạy; đầy tớ Ngài đang lắng nghe.’” Sa-mu-ên vâng lời, trở lại nằm tại chỗ mình.
and seide, Lo! Y; for thou clepidist me. Therfor Heli vndirstood, that the Lord clepide the child; and Heli seide to Samuel, Go and slepe; and if he clepith thee aftirward, thou schalt seie, Speke thou, Lord, for thi seruaunt herith. Therfor Samuel yede and slepte in his place.
10 Chúa Hằng Hữu đến gọi như những lần trước: “Sa-mu-ên! Sa-mu-ên!” Sa-mu-ên thưa: “Xin Chúa phán dạy, đầy tớ Ngài đang lắng nghe.”
And the Lord cam, and stood, and clepide as he hadde clepid the secunde tyme, Samuel, Samuel. And Samuel seide, Speke thou, Lord, for thi seruaunt herith.
11 Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Sa-mu-ên: “Ta sắp làm một việc cho Ít-ra-ên, ai nghe đến việc này tai phải lùng bùng.
And the Lord seide to Samuel, Lo! Y make a word in Israel, which word who euer schal here, bothe hise eeris schulen rynge.
12 Ta sẽ thực hiện những điều Ta đã phán với Hê-li về gia đình người.
In that dai Y schal reise ayens Heli alle thingis, whiche Y spak on his hows; Y schal bigynne, and Y schal ende.
13 Vì Ta đã cảnh cáo Hê-li là Ta sẽ trừng phạt gia đình người vì tội các con của người đã phạm với Ta. Chính Hê-li thừa biết nhưng không cấm đoán.
For Y biforseide to hym, that Y schulde deme his hows with outen ende for wickidnesse; for he knew, that hise sones diden vnworthili, and he chastiside not hem.
14 Vì vậy, Ta thề rằng tội của Hê-li và gia đình người sẽ không bao giờ chuộc được, dù bằng sinh tế hay lễ vật.”
Therfor Y swoor to the hows of Heli, that the wickidnesse of his hows schal not be clensid bi sacrifices and yiftis til in to with outen ende.
15 Sa-mu-ên nằm cho đến sáng mới dậy và mở cửa Đền Tạm như thường lệ, vì sợ phải kể cho Hê-li việc Chúa Hằng Hữu nói với ông.
Forsothe Samuel slepte til the morewtid, and he openyde the doris of the hows of the Lord; and Samuel dredde to schewe the reuelacioun to Heli.
16 Nhưng Hê-li gọi: “Sa-mu-ên, con ơi!” Sa-mu-ên thưa: “Dạ, con đây.”
Therfor Heli clepide Samuel, and seide, Samuel, my sone. And he answeride and seide, Y am redi.
17 Hê-li nói: “Kể cho ta nghe mọi lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã nói, đừng giấu gì cả, nếu con giấu một lời nào, xin Đức Chúa Trời trừng phạt con.”
And Heli axide hym, What is the word which the Lord spak to thee? Y preye thee, hide thou not fro me; God do to thee `these thingis, and encreesse these thingis, if thou hidist fro me a word of alle wordis that ben seid to thee.
18 Vậy, Sa-mu-ên kể lại cho ông nghe tất cả. Ông nói: “Đó là ý muốn của Chúa Hằng Hữu. Xin Chúa làm điều gì Ngài thấy là tốt.”
And Samuel schewide to hym alle the wordis, and `hidde not fro hym. And Heli answeride, He is the Lord; do he that, that is good in hise iyen.
19 Sa-mu-ên lớn lên, Chúa Hằng Hữu ở cùng người và không để cho một lời nào người nói thành ra vô ích.
Forsothe Samuel encreeside, and the Lord was with hym, and noon of alle hise wordis felde in to erthe.
20 Toàn dân Ít-ra-ên từ Đan cho đến Bê-e-sê-ba đều biết rằng Sa-mu-ên được chọn làm tiên tri của Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And al Israel fro Dan to Bersabee knew, that feithful Samuel was a profete of the Lord.
21 Chúa Hằng Hữu đã hiện ra tại Si-lô, và truyền dạy lời Ngài cho Sa-mu-ên trong Đền Tạm.
And the Lord addide `that he schulde appere in Silo, for the Lord was schewid to Samuel in Silo bi the `word of the Lord; and the word of Samuel cam to al Israel.
