I Các Vua 16
1 Chúa Hằng Hữu có lời khiển trách Ba-ê-sa, và lời này được phán qua Tiên tri Giê-hu, con Ha-na-ni:
Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jehu
2 “Ta đã cất nhắc ngươi từ trong đất bụi, cho ngươi lãnh đạo dân tộc Ít-ra-ên. Ngược lại, ngươi theo gót Giê-rô-bô-am, lôi kéo người Ít-ra-ên của Ta phạm tội, chọc giận Ta,
son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying: Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel, —and yet thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and caused, my people Israel, to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins,
3 nên Ta sẽ tận diệt ngươi và cả gia đình ngươi. Nhà ngươi sẽ như nhà Giê-rô-bô-am, con Nê-bát;
Behold me! consuming after Baasha, and after his house, —and I will deliver up thy house, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat:
4 ai chết trong thành sẽ bị chó ăn, ai chết ngoài đồng sẽ bị chim ăn.”
Him that dieth of Baasha in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth of his in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.
5 Các công việc khác của Ba-ê-sa và quyền lực vua đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
Now, the rest of the story of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
6 Ba-ê-sa an nghỉ với các tổ tiên, được chôn trong thành Tia-xa. Ê-la, con trai vua, lên kế vị.
So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, —and, Elah his son, reigned, in his stead.
7 Như vậy, Chúa Hằng Hữu dùng Tiên tri Giê-hu, con Ha-na-ni, khiển trách Ba-ê-sa và gia đình vì các điều ác vua làm, chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu, giống như nhà Giê-rô-bô-am, dù chính tay vua đã tiêu diệt nhà ấy.
Moreover also, through Jehu son of Hanani the prophet, the word of Yahweh, came against Baasha and against his house, even because of all the wickedness that he had done in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, becoming like the house of Jeroboam, —notwithstanding that he smote him.
8 Vào năm thứ hai mươi sáu đời A-sa, Ê-la, con Ba-ê-sa, lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên xứ Giu-đa hai năm tại Tia-xa.
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, began Elah son of Baasha to reign over Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] two years.
9 Trong số bầy tôi vua, có Xim-ri mưu phản. Một hôm, Ê-la đến nhà Ạt-sa, quản đốc hoàng cung tại Tia-xa uống rượu say sưa.
Then conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, —as he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk, in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.
10 Xim-ri bước vào đánh Ê-la ngã xuống, giết chết, và cướp ngôi. Việc này xảy ra vào năm thứ hai mươi bảy đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa.
And Zimri went in, and smote him and slew him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.
11 Vừa lên ngôi, Xim-ri giết hết nhà Ba-ê-sa, không sót một người đàn ông, cùng những người họ hàng và quen biết với gia đình này.
And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha, he left him not even the meanest, —neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12 Như vậy, Xim-ri tiêu diệt nhà Ba-ê-sa, đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu dùng Tiên tri Giê-hu phán trước.
Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, —according to the word of Yahweh which he spake unto Baasha, through Jehu the prophet;
13 Vì tội của Ba-ê-sa và của Ê-la, con vua, và vì họ lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên vào đường cúng thờ thần tượng, chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
as to all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, —wherewith they sinned, and wherewith they caused, Israel, to sin, provoking to anger Yahweh God of Israel, with their vanities.
14 Các công việc khác của Ê-la đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
Now, the rest of the story of Elah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
15 Xim-ri lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên vào năm thứ hai mươi bảy đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa, và làm vua bảy ngày tại Tia-xa. Lúc ấy, quân Ít-ra-ên đang tấn công thành Ghi-bê-thôn của người Phi-li-tin.
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, did Zimri reign, seven days in Tirzah, —but, the people, were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistine.
16 Nghe tin Xim-ri phản loạn, ám sát vua, toàn thể quân sĩ trong trại hôm ấy tôn Ôm-ri, tướng chỉ huy quân đội, lên làm vua Ít-ra-ên.
When therefore the people who were encamped, heard say, Zimri hath conspired, moreover also, he hath smitten the king, all Israel made Omri, general of the army, king over Israel, on that day, in the camp.
17 Ôm-ri bỏ Ghi-bê-thôn, kéo quân về vây Tia-xa.
So Omri, and all Israel with him, went up from Gibbethon, —and laid siege against Tirzah.
18 Khi Xim-ri thấy kinh thành bị chiếm, liền chạy vào thành, phóng hỏa đốt hoàng cung và chết theo trong đó.
And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he entered into the citadel of the house of the king, —and burned over him the house of the king, with fire, and died:
19 Xim-ri nhận lấy hậu quả vì làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo gót Giê-rô-bô-am phạm tội và lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên phạm tội theo.
because of his sins which he committed by doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —by walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he committed, by causing, Israel, to sin.
20 Các công việc khác của Xim-ri, việc phản loạn của vua đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
Now, the rest of the story of Zimri, and his conspiracy wherein he conspired, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
21 Bấy giờ, dân chúng Ít-ra-ên chia làm hai nhóm. Phân nửa theo Ôm-ri, phân nửa theo Típ-ni, con Ghi-nát.
Then, were the people of Israel divided, —half the people, were following Tibni son of Ginath, to make him king, and, half, following Omri.
22 Phe Ôm-ri đánh bại phe Tip-ni. Vậy, Típ-ni chết và Ôm-ri lên làm vua.
But, the people that followed Omri, prevailed against, the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath; so that, Tibni, died, and, Omri, reigned.
23 Ôm-ri bắt đầu làm vua vào năm thứ ba mươi mốt đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa. Ông làm vua mười hai năm, sáu năm đầu tại Tia-xa.
In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, began Omri to reign over Israel [and he reigned] twelve years: in Tirzah, reigned he six years.
24 Sau đó, Ôm-ri mua ngọn đồi của Sê-me với giá 68 ký bạc và xây trên ấy một thành, đặt tên là Sa-ma-ri, theo tên chủ đất.
And he bought the hill Samaria, of Shemer, for two talents of silver, —and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer lord of the hill—Samaria.
25 Nhưng Ôm-ri làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, còn hơn những vua trước.
And Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all who were before him;
26 Vua theo gót Giê-rô-bô-am, con Nê-bát, phạm tội và lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên cùng phạm tội. Vua thờ hình tượng, chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
yea he walked in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin, —provoking to anger Yahweh, God of Israel, with their vanities.
27 Các công việc khác của Ôm-ri và quyền lực của vua đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
Now, the rest of the story of Omri, what he did, and his might that he shewed, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
28 Ôm-ri an giấc với tổ tiên mình, được chôn tại Sa-ma-ri. Con vua là A-háp lên kế vị.
So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, —and, Ahab his son, reigned, in his stead.
29 A-háp, con Ôm-ri lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên vào năm thứ ba mươi tám đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa, và A-háp làm vua hai mươi hai năm tại Sa-ma-ri.
Now, Ahab son of Omri, began to reign over Israel, in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, —and Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel, in Samaria, twenty-two years.
30 A-háp con trai Ôm-ri làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, còn hơn những vua trước.
And Ahab son of Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all that were before him.
31 Cho rằng việc theo gót Giê-rô-bô-am phạm tội vẫn còn chưa đủ, nên A-háp cưới Giê-sa-bên, con gái Ết-ba-an, vua Si-đôn, làm vợ, phụng sự và thờ lạy thần Ba-anh.
And it come to pass, as though it had been too light a thing that he should walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and bowed down to him.
32 Vua cất miếu và bàn thờ cho Ba-anh tại Sa-ma-ri,
And he reared an altar unto Baal, —in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.
33 và dựng tượng A-sê-ra. Vậy, vua chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên hơn cả các vua Ít-ra-ên trước.
And Ahab made the Sacred Stem, —and Ahab did yet more to provoke to anger Yahweh God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
34 Vào đời A-háp, Hi-ên, người Bê-tên, xây lại thành Giê-ri-cô. Khi ông đặt nền, con trưởng là A-bi-ram chết; lúc dựng cổng, con út là Sê-gúp chết, đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu dùng Giô-suê con của Nun đã báo trước.
In his days, did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho, —At the price of Abiram his firstborn, he laid its foundation, and, at the price of Segub his youngest, he set up its doors, according to the word of Yahweh which he spake through Joshua son of Nun.
