1 Năm thứ mười tám đời Vua Giê-rô-bô-am, con Nê-bát, A-bi-giam lên làm vua Giu-đa
And in the eighteenth yeere of King Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, reigned Abiiam ouer Iudah.
2 và cai trị ba năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ người là Ma-a-ca, con gái A-bi-sa-lôm.
Three yeere reigned hee in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.
3 Vua theo đường tội lỗi của cha mình, không hết lòng trung thành với Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Hữu như Đa-vít, tổ tiên mình.
And hee walked in all the sinnes of his father, which hee had done before him: and his heart was not perfit with the Lord his God as the heart of Dauid his father.
4 Dù vậy, vì Đa-vít, Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của ông, cho con cháu ông tiếp tục làm vua, như một ngọn đèn thắp ở Giê-ru-sa-lem trong thời gian thành này còn tồn tại.
But for Dauids sake did the Lord his God giue him a light in Ierusalem, and set vp his sonne after him, and established Ierusalem,
5 Đa-vít đã làm điều thiện lành trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, suốt đời vâng theo lệnh Ngài, chỉ trừ ra vụ U-ri, người Hê-tít, mà thôi.
Because Dauid did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and turned from nothing that he commanded him, all the dayes of his life, saue onely in the matter of Vriah the Hittite.
6 Cuộc chiến giữa Rô-bô-am và Giê-rô-bô-am vẫn tiếp diễn qua suốt triều đại A-bi-giam.
And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam as long as he liued.
7 Các công việc khác của A-bi-giam đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Giu-đa. A-bi-giam và Giê-rô-bô-am cũng tranh chiến nhau.
The rest also of the actes of Abiiam, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? there was also warre betweene Abiiam, and Ieroboam.
8 A-bi-giam an nghỉ cùng tổ tiên, được chôn trong Thành Đa-vít. A-sa, con trai vua, lên ngôi kế vị.
And Abiiam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Dauid: and Asa his sonne reigned in his steade.
9 Vào năm thứ hai mươi đời Giê-rô-bô-am, vua Ít-ra-ên, A-sa lên ngôi làm vua Giu-đa
And in the twentie yeere of Ieroboam King of Israel reigned Asa ouer Iudah.
10 và cai trị bốn mươi mốt năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Bà nội vua là Ma-a-ca, con gái của A-bi-sa-lôm.
He reigned in Ierusalem one and fourtie yeere, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.
11 A-sa làm điều thiện trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo gương Đa-vít, tổ tiên ông.
And Asa did right in the eyes of the Lord, as did Dauid his father.
12 Vua đuổi bọn nam mãi dâm—tình dục đồng giới—ra khỏi xứ, phá bỏ các thần tượng do vua cha để lại.
And he tooke away the Sodomites out of the lande, and put away all the idoles that his fathers had made.
13 Vua cũng cách chức Thái hậu Ma-a-ca, vì bà lập tượng thần A-sê-ra. Tượng này bị A-sa hạ xuống và đem thiêu tại Trũng Kít-rôn.
And he put downe Maachah his mother also from her estate, because shee had made an idole in a groue: and Asa destroyed her idoles, and burnt them by the brooke Kidron.
14 Mặc dù miếu thờ trên các đồi cao không bị phá dỡ, trọn đời A-sa vẫn một lòng trung thành với Chúa Hằng Hữu.
But they put not downe the hie places. Neuertheles Asas heart was vpright with the Lord all his dayes.
15 Vua đem vào Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu những dụng cụ bằng bạc và vàng của cha mình và của chính mình hiến dâng lên Ngài.
Also he brought in the holy vessels of his father, and the things that he had dedicated vnto ye house of the Lord, siluer, and golde, and vessels.
16 A-sa, vua Giu-đa, chinh chiến với Ba-ê-sa, vua Ít-ra-ên, trọn đời.
And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel all their dayes.
17 Vua Ba-ê-sa, nước Ít-ra-ên, kéo quân đến vây thành Ra-ma, không cho ai ra vào lãnh thổ của A-sa, của Giu-đa.
Then Baasha king of Israel went vp against Iudah, and buylt Ramah, so that he woulde let none go out or in to Asa King of Iudah.
18 Thấy thế, A-sa lấy hết vàng bạc còn lại trong kho Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu và kho hoàng gia, giao cho sứ giả đem sang Đa-mách tặng Bên Ha-đát, vua A-ram, với những lời sau:
Then Asa tooke all the siluer and the gold that was left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, and deliuered them into the handes of his seruantes, and King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the sonne of Tabrimon, the sonne of Hezion king of Aram that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19 “Hai nước chúng ta hãy lập giao ước với nhau như cha ông và cha tôi đã làm. Đây, tôi xin gửi tặng nhà vua bạc vàng. Vậy xin bãi bỏ minh ước với Ba-ê-sa, vua Ít-ra-ên, để ông ấy rút quân khỏi đất nước tôi!”
There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent vnto thee a present of siluer and golde: come, breake thy couenant with Baasha King of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20 Bên Ha-đát đồng ý với vua A-sa, sai các tướng kéo quân đi đánh Ít-ra-ên, tấn công các thành Ít-ra-ên là Đan, A-bên Bết-ma-ca, cả vùng Ki-nê-rốt, và đất Nép-ta-li.
So Ben-hadad hearkened vnto King Asa, and sent the captaines of the hosts, which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote lion, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21 Nghe tin bị tấn công, Ba-ê-sa liền bỏ dở việc xây Ra-ma và rút về Tia-xa.
And when Baasha heard thereof, hee left buylding of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22 A-sa kêu gọi toàn dân Giu-đa đến tháo gỡ gỗ và đá của Ba-ê-sa đang xây thành Ra-ma còn dang dở, đem xây thành Ghê-ba trong đất Bên-gia-min và thành Mích-pa.
Then king Asa assembled al Iudah, none excepted. and they tooke the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had buylt, and King Asa built with them Geba of Beniamin and Mizpah.
23 Các công việc khác của A-sa, quyền lực vua, và các thành vua xây đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Giu-đa. Lúc già, vua bị đau chân.
And the rest of all the actes of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he buylt, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? but in his olde age he was diseased in his feete.
24 A-sa an nghỉ và được chôn với tổ tiên trong Thành Đa-vít. Giô-sa-phát, con trai của A-sa, lên ngôi kế vị.
And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father. And Iehoshaphat his sonne reigned in his steade.
25 Na-đáp, con trai Giê-rô-bô-am, lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên vào năm thứ hai đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa, và trị vì được hai năm.
And Nadab the sonne of Ieroboam began to reigne ouer Israel the second yere of Asa King of Iudah, and reigned ouer Israel two yeere.
26 Nhưng Na-đáp làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo gót cha mình phạm tội và lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên cùng phạm tội.
And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of his father, and in his sinne wherewith he made Israel to sinne.
27 Ba-ê-sa, con A-hi-gia, người thuộc đại tộc Y-sa-ca mưu phản, giết Na-đáp trong khi ông đang cầm quân vây thành Ghi-bê-thôn của người Phi-li-tin.
And Baasha the sonne of Ahijah of ye house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha slue him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistims: for Nadab and all Israel layde siege to Gibbethon.
28 Việc xảy ra vào năm thứ ba đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa. Ba-ê-sa lên ngôi làm vua Ít-ra-ên.
Euen in the third yeere of Asa King of Iudah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his steade.
29 Vừa lên nắm quyền, Ba-ê-sa giết sạch người nhà Vua Giê-rô-bô-am, không tha một ai, đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu dùng đầy tớ Ngài là A-hi-gia, người Si-lô, báo trước.
And when he was King, he smote all the house of Ieroboam, he left none aliue to Ieroboam, vntill hee had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord which he spake by his seruant Ahijah the Shilonite,
30 Lý do là Giê-rô-bô-am phạm tội và lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên cùng phạm tội, chọc giận Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
Because of the sinnes of Ieroboam which he committed, and wherewith he made Israel to sinne, by his prouocation, wherewith he prouoked the Lord God of Israel.
31 Các công việc khác của Na-đáp đều được chép trong Sách Lịch Sử Các Vua Ít-ra-ên.
And the residue of the actes of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
32 Chiến tranh giữa Giu-đa và Ít-ra-ên xảy ra liên tục trong đời A-sa và Ba-ê-sa.
And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel, all their dayes.
33 Ba-ê-sa, con A-hi-gia, làm vua Ít-ra-ên tại Tia-xa hai mươi bốn năm, bắt đầu từ năm thứ ba đời A-sa, vua Giu-đa.
In the thirde yeere of Asa King of Iudah, began Baasha the sonne of Ahijah to reigne ouer all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned foure and twentie yeeres.
34 Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, theo gót Giê-rô-bô-am, phạm tội, và lôi kéo Ít-ra-ên cùng phạm tội.
And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of Ieroboam, and in his sinne, wherewith he made Israel to sinne.
