I Cô-rinh-tô 3
1 Thưa anh chị em, trước kia tôi không thể nói chuyện với anh chị em như với người thuộc linh, nhưng như người xác thịt, như con đỏ trong Chúa Cứu Thế.
And so, brothers, I was not able to speak to you as if to those who are spiritual, but rather as if to those who are carnal. For you are like infants in Christ.
2 Tôi phải dùng sữa nuôi anh chị em, thay vì thức ăn đặc, vì anh chị em chưa tiêu hóa nổi, đến bây giờ cũng chưa ăn được,
I gave you milk to drink, not solid food. For you were not yet able. And indeed, even now, you are not able; for you are still carnal.
3 vì anh chị em vẫn sống theo xác thịt. Anh chị em còn ganh ghét, xung đột nhau. Không phải anh chị em đang sống theo xác thịt như người đời sao?
And since there is still envy and contention among you, are you not carnal, and are you not walking according to man?
4 Người này nói: “Tôi theo Phao-lô,” người kia nói: “Tôi theo A-bô-lô,” như thế không phải anh chị em hành động theo người đời sao?
For if one says, “Certainly, I am of Paul,” while another says, “I am of Apollo,” are you not men? But what is Apollo, and what is Paul?
5 Vậy, Phao-lô là ai? A-bô-lô là ai? Chúng tôi chỉ là đầy tớ của Đức Chúa Trời—những người đã giúp anh chị em tin nhận Ngài—theo khả năng Chúa cho mỗi người.
We are only the ministers of him in whom you have believed, just as the Lord has granted to each of you.
6 Tôi đã trồng, A-bô-lô đã tưới, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời làm cho lớn lên.
I planted, Apollo watered, but God provided the growth.
7 Người trồng, người tưới đều không quan trọng, vì chính Đức Chúa Trời làm cho cây lớn lên.
And so, neither he who plants, nor he who waters, is anything, but only God, who provides the growth.
8 Người trồng, người tưới đều như nhau, mỗi người được thưởng tùy theo công khó mình.
Now he who plants, and he who waters, are one. But each shall receive his proper reward, according to his labors.
9 Chúng tôi là bạn đồng sự phục vụ Đức Chúa Trời, còn anh chị em là ruộng, là nhà của Ngài.
For we are God’s assistants. You are God’s cultivation; you are God’s construction.
10 Nhờ ơn phước của Đức Chúa Trời, tôi đã đặt nền móng như một nhà kiến trúc giỏi và người khác xây cất lên trên, nhưng mỗi người phải thận trọng về cách xây cất của mình.
According to the grace of God, which has been given to me, I have laid the foundation like a wise architect. But another builds upon it. So then, let each one be careful how he builds upon it.
11 Vì ngoài nền móng thật đã đặt xong là Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu, chẳng ai có thể đặt nền móng nào khác.
For no one is able to lay any other foundation, in place of that which has been laid, which is Christ Jesus.
12 Trên nền móng ấy, người ta có thể cất nhà bằng vàng, bạc, ngọc hay bằng gỗ, rơm, tranh.
But if anyone builds upon this foundation, whether gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or stubble,
13 Công trình của mỗi người sẽ được bày tỏ trong ngày cuối cùng. Chúa sẽ dùng lửa thử luyện mọi vật. Vật liệu nào rồi cũng sẽ bị thử luyện trong ngọn lửa.
each one’s work shall be made manifest. For the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it will be revealed by fire. And this fire will test each one’s work, as to what kind it is.
14 Công trình nào tồn tại, người xây cất sẽ được thưởng.
If anyone’s work, which he has built upon it, remains, then he will receive a reward.
15 Trái lại công trình nào bị thiêu hủy, người xây cất sẽ mất hết, nhưng chính người ấy sẽ được cứu như vượt qua lửa mà thôi.
If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer its loss, but he himself will still be saved, but only as through fire.
16 Anh chị em không biết mình là đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời, và Thánh Linh Đức Chúa Trời sống trong anh chị em sao?
Do you not know that you are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God lives within you?
17 Ai hủy hoại đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời sẽ bị Ngài tiêu diệt. Vì đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời phải thánh khiết và anh chị em là đền thờ của Ngài.
But if anyone violates the Temple of God, God will destroy him. For the Temple of God is holy, and you are that Temple.
18 Đừng ai tự lừa dối! Ai trong anh chị em tưởng mình khôn ngoan theo đời này, hãy nhìn nhận mình khờ dại để được khôn ngoan thật. (aiōn g165)
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he may be truly wise. (aiōn g165)
19 Khôn ngoan của thế gian bị Đức Chúa Trời xem là khờ dại. Như Thánh Kinh viết: “Chúa khiến người khôn ngoan tự sa vào bẫy của họ.”
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. And so it has been written: “I will catch the wise in their own astuteness.”
20 Và: “Chúa biết ý tưởng người khôn ngoan chỉ là hư ảo.”
And again: “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.”
21 Vậy đừng tự hào về tài năng con người. Tất cả đều thuộc về anh chị em.
And so, let no one glory in men.
22 Cả Phao-lô, A-bô-lô, hay Phi-e-rơ, thế gian, sự sống, sự chết, việc hiện tại, việc tương lai, tất cả đều thuộc về anh chị em,
For all is yours: whether Paul, or Apollo, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future. Yes, all is yours.
23 và anh chị em thuộc về Chúa Cứu Thế, và Chúa Cứu Thế thuộc về Đức Chúa Trời.
But you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
