I Sử Ký 4
1 Con cháu của Giu-đa là Phê-rết, Hết-rôn, Cát-mi, Hu-rơ, và Sô-banh.
The sons of Judah: Pherez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 Rê-a-gia, con trai của Sô-banh, sinh Gia-hát. Gia-hát sinh A-hu-mai và La-hát. Đó là các gia tộc của người Xô-ra-tít.
And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath; and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zoreathites.
3 Dòng dõi của Ê-tam là Gít-re-ên, Dít-ma, Di-ba, và em gái của họ là Ha-sê-lê-bô-ni,
And these [were of] the father of Etam: Jizreel, and Jishma, and Jidbash; and the name of their sister was Hazlelponi;

and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, [and] father of Bethlehem.
5 A-sua (cha của Thê-cô-a) cưới hai vợ là Hê-la-a và Na-a-ra.
— And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 Na-a-ra sinh A-hu-xam, Hê-phe, Thê-mê-ni, và A-hách-tha-ri.
And Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Ahashtari: these were the sons of Naarah.
7 Hê-la-a sinh Xê-rết, Xô-ha, Ết-nan,
And the sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.
8 và Cốt, là tổ phụ của A-núp, Hát-xô-bê-ba, và họ A-ha-hên, con trai Ha-rum.
And Koz begot Anub, and Hazzobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
9 Gia-bê được trọng hơn các anh em. Mẹ người đặt tên là Gia-bê vì nói rằng: “Ta sinh nó với nhiều đau đớn.”
And Jabez was more honoured than his brethren; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with pain.
10 Gia-bê cầu nguyện với Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên: “Xin Chúa ban phước lành cho con, mở rộng biên cương, phù hộ con trong mọi công việc con làm, và giữ gìn con khỏi mọi điều ác, đừng để điều ác gây buồn thảm cho con!” Đức Chúa Trời nhậm lời cầu nguyện của Gia-bê.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, Oh that thou wouldest richly bless me, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God brought about what he had requested.
11 Kê-lúp (em Su-ha) sinh Mê-hia. Mê-hia sinh Ê-tôn.
And Chelub the brother of Shuah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12 Ê-tôn sinh Ra-pha, Pha-sê-a, và Tê-hi-na. Tê-hi-na sinh I-na-hách. Đây là những người thuộc dòng họ Rê-ca.
And Eshton begot Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the city of Nahash: these were the men of Rechah.
13 Con trai của Kê-na là Ốt-ni-ên và Sê-ra-gia. Con trai của Ốt-ni-ên là Ha-thát và Mê-ô-nô-thai.
— And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah; and the sons of Othniel: Hathath.
14 Mê-ô-nô-thai sinh Óp-ra. Sê-ra-gia sinh Giô-áp, sáng lập vùng Ghê Ha-ra-shim, dân cư vùng này đều làm nghề thủ công.
And Meonothai begot Ophrah: and Seraiah begot Joab, the father of the valley of craftsmen; for they were craftsmen.
15 Con trai của Ca-lép, cháu Giê-phu-nê là Y-ru, Ê-la, và Na-am. Con trai của Ê-la là Kê-na.
— And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah, ...and Kenaz.
16 Con trai của Giê-ha-lê-le là Xíp, Xi-pha, Thi-ria, và A-sê-rên.
— And the sons of Jehalleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asareel.
17 Con trai của Ê-xơ-ra là Giê-the, Mê-rết, Ê-phe, và Gia-lôn. Một trong những người vợ của Mê-rết sinh Mi-ri-am, Sa-mai, và Dít-bác (cha của Ết-tê-mô-a).
— And the sons of Ezra: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she conceived [and bore] Miriam, and Shammai, and Jishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 Ết-tê-mô-a cưới vợ người Giu-đa, sinh Gia-rết (tổ phụ người Ghê-đô), Hê-be (tổ phụ người Sô-cô), và Giê-cu-ti-ên (tổ phụ người Xa-nô-a). Mê-rết cũng cưới Bi-tha, con gái Pha-ra-ôn, và nàng sinh con cho ông.
And his wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh whom Mered took.
19 Vợ của Hô-đia là em gái của Na-ham. Một người con của nàng là tổ phụ của Kê-i-la, người Gạc-mít, và một người con khác là tổ phụ của Ết-tê-mô-a, người Ma-ca-thít.
— And the sons of the wife of Hodijah, the sister of Naham: the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
20 Con trai của Si-môn là Am-nôn, Ri-na, Bên Ha-nan, và Ti-lôn. Dòng dõi của Di-si là Xô-hết và Bên Xô-hết.
— And the sons of Shimon: Amnon and Rinnah, Ben-hanan and Tilon. — And the sons of Jishi: Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.
21 Sê-la là một trong những con trai của Giu-đa. Dòng dõi của Sê-la là Ê-rơ (cha của Lê-ca); La-a-đa (cha của Ma-rê-sa); gia đình thợ dệt vải gai ở vùng Bết Ách-bê-a;
The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lechah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of byssus-workers, of the house of Ashbea,
22 Giô-kim; gia đình Cô-xê-ba; Giô-ách và Sa-ráp, người cai trị xứ Mô-áp và Gia-su-bi Lê-chem. Đó là các tên ghi trong gia phả rất cổ.
and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled over Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things.
23 Các gia đình sau đây làm thợ gốm cư ngụ tại Nê-ta-im và Ghê-đê-ra. Họ ở đó làm việc cho các vua.
These were the potters, and those that abode among plantations and enclosures: there they dwelt with the king for his work.
24 Con trai của Si-mê-ôn là Nê-mu-ên, Gia-min, Gia-ríp, Xê-rách, và Sau-lơ.
The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, [and] Saul;
25 Dòng dõi của Sau-lơ là Sa-lum, Míp-sam, và Mích-ma.
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 Dòng dõi của Mích-ma là Ham-mu-ên, Xác-cua, và Si-mê-i.
And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son;
27 Si-mê-i sinh mười sáu con trai và sáu con gái, nhưng anh em ông không ai có nhiều con. Vì vậy, đại tộc Si-mê-i không lớn bằng đại tộc Giu-đa.
and Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. And his brethren had not many sons; neither did all their family multiply like to the sons of Judah.

And they abode at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shual,
29 Bi-la, Ê-xem, Tô-lát,
and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
30 Bê-tu-ên, Họt-ma, Xiếc-lác,
and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
31 Bết-ma-ca-bốt, Ha-sa-su-sim, Bết-bi-rê, và Sa-a-ra-rim. Họ cai quản các thành phố ấy cho đến đời Vua Đa-vít.
and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.
32 Dòng dõi họ cũng ở trong vùng Ê-tam, A-in, Rim-môn, Tô-ken, và A-san
And their villages were Etam and Ain, Rimmon and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;

and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These were their habitations and their genealogical register.

And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,
35 Giô-ên và Giê-hu, con Giê-xơ-bia, cháu Sê-ra-gia, chắt A-si-ên.
and Joel, and Jehu the son of Josibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
36 Ê-li-ô-ê-nai, Gia-cô-ba, Giê-sô-hai-gia, A-sa-gia, A-đi-ên, Giê-si-mi-ên, Bê-na-gia,
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,
37 và Xi-xa, con Si-phi, cháu A-lôn, chắt Giê-đa-gia, chít Sim-ri, con Sê-ma-gia.
and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah:
38 Những người có tên trên là những người lãnh đạo trong dòng tộc của Si-mê-ôn. Dòng tộc của họ gia tăng rất nhiều.
these mentioned by name were princes in their families; and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

And they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

And they found fat and good pasture, and a land widely extended and quiet and fertile, for they who had dwelt there formerly were of Ham.
41 Đời Vua Ê-xê-chia, nước Giu-đa, các tộc trưởng của Si-mê-ôn tấn công vào xứ ấy, phá đổ nhà cửa, nông trại, tàn sát dòng dõi Cham và những người Mê-u-nim, và chiếm cứ cả xứ.
And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their stead; for there was pasture there for their flocks.
42 Về sau, 500 người thuộc nhóm các tộc trưởng người Si-mê-ôn này lại tiến lên Núi Sê-i-rơ, dưới quyền lãnh đạo của Phê-la-tia, Nê-a-ria, Rê-pha-gia, và U-xi-ên, tất cả đều là con trai của Di-si.
And five hundred men of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to mount Seir, having at their head Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Jishi,

and they smote the rest of the Amalekites that had escaped; and they dwelt there unto this day.
