I Sử Ký 11
1 Lúc ấy, toàn dân Ít-ra-ên kéo đến Hếp-rôn, nói với Đa-vít: “Chúng tôi với ông là anh em ruột thịt.
Then did all Israel gather themselves unto David unto Hebron, saying Behold, thy bone and thy flesh are we.
2 Ngay lúc Sau-lơ còn làm vua, chính ông là người dẫn chúng tôi ra trận và đưa chúng tôi về. Lúc ấy, Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời ông, có phán bảo ông: ‘Ngươi sẽ chăn dắt dân Ta là Ít-ra-ên. Ngươi sẽ lãnh đạo dân Ta, là Ít-ra-ên.’”
Already yesterday and even before, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord, thy God, said unto thee, Thou shalt indeed feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be truly a chief over my people Israel.
3 Sau khi các trưởng lão Ít-ra-ên họp với Đa-vít tại Hếp-rôn lần ấy, Đa-vít kết giao ước với họ trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu. Và họ xức dầu tôn Đa-vít làm vua Ít-ra-ên, đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã hứa qua Sa-mu-ên.
Thus came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David as king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord through means of Samuel.
4 Sau đó, Đa-vít cùng đi với người Ít-ra-ên lên Giê-ru-sa-lem (lúc ấy gọi là Giê-bu vì là đất của thổ dân Giê-bu.)
And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; and there were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Nhưng người ở Giê-bu chống cự, không chịu cho Đa-vít vào thành, nên Đa-vít chiếm đồn Si-ôn, về sau đổi tên gọi là Thành Đa-vít.
And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David captured the strong-hold of Zion, the same is the City of David.
6 Ông bảo thuộc hạ: “Ai đánh giết thổ dân Giê-bu trước tiên sẽ được làm tướng chỉ huy quân đội của ta!” Giô-áp, con Xê-ru-gia, là người đầu tiên tấn công địch, nên được phong tướng chỉ huy quân đội của Đa-vít.
And David said, Whosoever doth smite the Jebusites at first shall be head and chief. Then did Joab the son of Zeruyah go up at first, and became head-man.
7 Đa-vít ở trong đồn Si-ôn, vì thế nơi ấy được gọi là Thành Đa-vít.
And David dwelt in the castle: therefore they called it, “The City of David.”
8 Ông xây thành lũy bắt đầu từ Mi-lô, còn Giô-áp lo sửa sang phần còn lại của thành.
And he built the city round about, even from the Millo as far as the surrounding district, and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 Thế lực Đa-vít càng ngày càng tăng, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân ở cùng ông.
And David want on, and became greater and greater, and the lord of hosts was with him.
10 Trong hàng thuộc hạ của Đa-vít có những anh hùng đứng đầu các dũng sĩ. Cùng với toàn dân Ít-ra-ên, họ phò Đa-vít lên ngôi, đúng như lời của Chúa Hằng Hữu phán về Ít-ra-ên.
These also are the principals of the mighty men whom David had, who held firmly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
11 Đây là danh sách các dũng sĩ của Đa-vít: Gia-sô-bê-am, con trai Hác-mô-ni, đứng đầu nhóm Bộ Ba. Ông dùng giáo đánh giết 300 người trong một trận chiến.
And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashoh'am, the son of Chachmoni, the chief of the captains, who lifted up his spear against three hundred slain at one time.
12 Người thứ hai thuộc nhóm Bộ Ba là Ê-lê-a-sa, con Đô-đô, người A-hô-hi.
And after him was El'asar the son of Dodo, the Achochite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13 Trong một trận chiến nơi cách đồng lúa mạch với quân Phi-li-tin ở Pha-đa-mim, Ê-lê-a-sa chiến đấu bên cạnh Đa-vít. Lúc ấy, người Ít-ra-ên bắt đầu chạy trốn.
He was with David at Pass-dammim, and the Philistines were gathered together there to battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley; and the people had fled from before the Philistines.
14 Nhưng ông đứng giữa một khoảnh ruộng lúa mạch cự địch, chém giết quân Phi-li-tin. Và Chúa Hằng Hữu cho Ít-ra-ên thắng lớn.
And they placed themselves in the midst of that piece [of ground], and they delivered it, and smote the Philistines: and the Lord helped [them] with a great victory.
15 Trong nhóm Ba Mươi có ba người đi xuống hang đá A-đu-lam để gặp Đa-vít, còn quân đội Phi-li-tin đóng ở thung lũng Rê-pha-im.
And these three, the chiefs of the thirty, went down to the rock to David, to the cave of 'Adullam; and the camp of the Philistines was pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
16 Lúc ấy, Đa-vít ở trong đồn, và tiền đồn Phi-li-tin ở Bết-lê-hem.
And David was then in the strong-hold, and an outpost of the Philistines was then at Beth-lechem.
17 Đa-vít ước ao rằng: “Ôi, ước gì ta uống được nước giếng bên cổng Bết-lê-hem.”
And David longed, and said, Oh that some one would bring me water to drink out of the well of Beth-lechem, which is by the gate!
18 Vậy, nhóm Bộ Ba băng đồn Phi-li-tin, múc nước giếng bên cổng thành Bết-lê-hem đem về cho Đa-vít. Nhưng Đa-vít không chịu uống, ông đổ nước ra dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu.
And the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lechem, which was by the gate, and carried it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.
19 Ông nói: “Xin Đức Chúa Trời ngăn cản, đừng cho con uống nước này! Vì đây là máu quý giá của những người này, họ đã liều mạng đi lấy nước về cho con.” Vậy Đa-vít không uống nước. Đây là việc mà nhóm Bộ Ba đã làm.
And he said, Far be it from me, before my God, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men that went at the risk of their lives? for at the risk of their lives did they bring it; and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
20 A-bi-sai, em Giô-áp, đứng đầu nhóm Ba Mươi. Ông dùng giáo đâm chết 300 người trong chỉ một trận chiến. Nhờ thế danh tiếng ông cũng nổi tiếng như nhóm Bộ Ba.
And Abshai the brother of Joab was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.
21 Ông đứng đầu và nổi tiếng nhất trong nhóm Ba Mươi, nhưng không có chân trong nhóm Bộ Ba.
Of the three, he was more honored than the two, wherefore he became their captain; he nevertheless attained not unto the three [in prowess].
22 Bê-na-gia, con Giê-hô-gia-đa ở Cáp-xê-ên, một chiến sĩ anh dũng đã thực hiện nhiều việc lớn, giết hai người Mô-áp có sức mạnh như sư tử. Trong một ngày tuyết rơi, ông đánh chết một con sư tử dưới một cái hố.
Banayah the son of Jehoyada', the son of a valiant man, great in many acts, of Kah-zeel: he it was that smote the two lion-like heroes of Moab; he also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed.
23 Ông còn giết một người Ai Cập cao 2,3 mét, sử dụng một cây thương lớn như cái trục máy dệt. Lúc đánh người này, trong tay Bê-na-gia chỉ có một cây gậy. Ông giật thương từ tay người Ai Cập này, rồi lấy thương đó giết hắn.
And he smote an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24 Đây là việc Bê-na-gia đã làm, nổi tiếng như ba dũng sĩ giỏi nhất
These things did Benayah the son of Jehoyada'; and he had a name among the mighty men.
25 Bê-na-gia được vinh danh hơn người khác trong nhóm Ba Mươi, nhưng ông vẫn không thuộc trong nhóm Bộ Ba. Đa-vít đặt ông chỉ huy đoàn cận vệ.
Behold, he was indeed more honored than the thirty; but he attained not to the first three. And David appointed him over his private council.
26 Các dũng sĩ của Đa-vít còn có: A-sa-ên, em Giô-áp; Ên-ha-nan, con Đô-đô ở Bết-lê-hem;
And the mighty men of the armies were, 'Assahel the brother of Joab, Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lechem.
27 Sa-mốt, người Ha-rô; Hê-lết, người Pha-lôn;
Shammoth the Harorite, Chelez the Pelonite,
28 Y-ra, con Y-kết ở Thê-cô-a; A-bi-ê-xe ở A-na-tốt;
'Ira the son of 'Ikkesh the Theko'ite, Abi'ezer the 'Antothite,
29 Si-bê-cai, người Hu-sa; Y-lai, người A-hô-hi;
Sibbechai the Chushathite, 'Ilai the Achochite,
30 Ma-ha-rai ở Nê-tô-pha; Hê-lết, con Ba-a-na ở Nê-tô-pha;
Maharai the Netophathite, Cheled the son of Ba'anah the Netophathite,
31 Y-tai, con Ri-bai, (một người Bên-gia-min ở Ghi-bê-a); Bê-na-gia ở Phi-ra-thôn;
Ithai the son of Ribai of Gib'ah, of the children of 'Benjamin, Benayah the Pir'athonite.
32 Hu-rai ở bên suối Ga-ách; A-bi-ên người A-ra-ba;
Churai of the Nachale-Ga'ash, Abiel the 'Arbathite,
33 Ách-ma-vết ở Ba-hu-rum; Ê-li-a-ba ở Sa-anh-bôn;
'Azmaveth the Bacharumite, Elyachba the Sha'albonite,
34 Bê-nê-ha-sem, người Ghi-xôn; Giô-na-than, con Sa-ghê, người Ha-ra;
Bnai-hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite.
35 A-hi-gia, con Sa-ca, người Ha-ra; Ê-li-pha, con U-rơ;
Achiam the son of Sachar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
36 Hê-phe ở Mê-kê-ra; A-hi-gia ở Pha-lôn;
Chepher the Mecherathite, Achiyah the Pelonite.
37 Hết-rô ở Cát-mên; Na-a-rai, con Ê-bai;
Chezro the Carmelite, Na'arai the son of Ezbai,
38 Giô-ên, em của Na-than; Mi-bê-ha, con Ha-gơ-ri;
Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibchar the son of Hagri,
39 Xê-léc, người Am-môn; Na-ha-rai ở Bê-ê-rốt, là người cận vệ của Giô-áp, con trai Xê-ru-gia;
Zelek the 'Ammonite, Nachrai the Berothite, the armor bearer of Joab the son of Zeruyah,
40 Y-ra và Ga-rép đều ở Giê-the;
'Ira the Yithrite, Gareb the Yithrite,
41 U-ri người Hê-tít; Xa-bát, con Ạc-lai;
Uriyah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Achlai,
42 A-đi-na, con Si-xa, người Ru-bên, một lãnh tụ của đại tộc Ru-bên, ông có ba mươi thuộc hạ;
'Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and with him were thirty [men].
43 Ha-nan, con Ma-a-ca; Giô-sa-phát, ở Mê-then;
Chanan the son of Ma'achah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite.
44 U-xia, ở Ách-ta-rốt; Sa-ma và Giê-i-ên, con của Hô-tham ở A-rô-e;
'Uzziya the 'Ashterathite, Shama' and Je'iel the sons of Chothan the 'Aro'erite,
45 Giê-đi-a-ên, con Sim-ri, và Giô-ha, em người ở Thi-sít;
Jedi'ael the son of Shimri, and Jocha his brother, the Thizite,
46 Ê-li-ên ở Ma-ha-vim; Giê-ri-bai và Giô-sa-via, con Ên-na-am; Gít-ma, người Mô-áp;
Eliel the Machavite, and Jerihal, and Joshavyah, the son of Elna'am, and Yithmah the Moabite,
47 Ê-li-ên, Ô-bết, và Gia-a-xi-ên, người Mết-sô-ba.
Eliel, and 'Obed, and Ja'assiel the Mezobayite.
