1 Шу чағларда, чөмүлдүргүчи Йәһя Йәһудийәдики чөл-баяванға келип
In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 кишиләргә: — Товва қилиңлар! Чүнки әрш падишалиғи йеқинлишип қалди! — дәп җакалашқа башлиди.
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 Чүнки [чөмүлдүргүчи Йәһя] болса илгири Йәшая пәйғәмбәр бешаритидә көрсәткән кишиниң дәл өзи болуп: — «Баяванда товлайдиған бир кишиниң: Рәбниң йолини тәйярлаңлар, Униң чиғир йоллирини түптүз қилиңлар! — дегән авази аңлиниду».
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 Йәһя [пәйғәмбәр] төгә жуңидин қилинған кийим кийгән, белигә көн тасма бағлиған еди. Йәйдиғини болса чекәткиләр билән явайи һәрә һәсили еди.
And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Әнди Йерусалим шәһири, пүтүн Йәһудийә өлкиси вә пүткүл Иордан дәрия вадисиниң әтрапидики кишиләр униң алдиға келишип,
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 гуналирини иқрар қилишти вә униң өзлирини Иордан дәриясида чөмүлдүрүшини қобул қилишти.
And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 Лекин Пәрисий вә Садуқий мәзһипидикиләрдин көплириниң униң чөмүлдүрүшини қобул қилғили кәлгәнлигини көргинидә у уларға: — Әй иланларниң балилири! Ким силәрни [Худаниң] чүшүш алдида турған ғәзивидин қечиңлар дәп агаһландурди?!
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Әнди товиға лайиқ мевини кәлтүрүңлар!
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 Вә өз ичиңларда: «Бизниң атимиз болса Ибраһимдур!» дәп хиял қилип жүрмәңлар; чүнки Мән шуни силәргә ейтип қояйки, Худа Ибраһимға мошу ташлардинму пәрзәнтләрни апиридә қилалайду.
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 Палта аллиқачан дәрәқләрниң йилтизиға тәңләп қоюлди; яхши мевә бәрмәйдиған һәр қайси дәрәқләр кесилип отқа ташлиниду.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 Мән дәрвәқә силәрни товва қилишиңлар үчүн суға чөмүлдүримән. Лекин мәндин кейин кәлгүчи зат мәндин қудрәтликтур. Мән һәтта униң кәшини көтиришкиму лайиқ әмәсмән; у силәрни Муқәддәс Роһқа һәм отқа чөмүлдүриду.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Униң соруғучи күрики қолида туриду; у өз хаминини [топа-самандин] тәлтөкүс тазилайду, сап буғдайни амбарға жиғиду, амма топа-саманни өчмәс отта көйдүрүветиду, — деди.
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
13 Шу вақитта, Әйса Йәһядин чөмүлдүрүлүшни қобул қилиш үчүн Галилийә өлкисидин Иордан дәрияси бойиға, униң йениға кәлди.
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 Бирақ Йәһя чөмүлдүрүшкә унимай уни тосуп: — Әсли чөмүлдүрүлүшни мән сәндин қобул қилишим керәк еди, бирақ сән мениң алдимға кәпсәнғу? — деди.
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 Лекин Әйса униңға җававән: — Һазирчә шуниңға йол қойғин; чүнки һәққанийлиқниң барлиқ [тәләплирини] әмәлгә ашуруш үчүн, шундақ қилишимизға тоғра келиду, — деди. Шуниң билән, Йәһя униңға йол қойди.
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 Вә Әйса чөмүлдүрүлүп болупла, судин чиқти; у судин чиқиши билән мана, әршләр униңға ечилип, Худаниң Роһи кәптәр қияпитидә әрштин чүшүп, үстигә қонуватқанлиғини көрди.
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 Вә мана, әрштин бир аваз: — «Бу Мениң сөйүмлүк оғлум, Мән униңдин толуқ хурсәнмән!» — дәп аңланди.
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
