1 Андин Теманлиқ Елифаз мундақ деди: —
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:
2 Адәм Худаға қандақму пайда кәлтүрәлисун? Дана адәмләрму Униңға немә пайда кәлтүрәлисун?
Can a man, then, profit God? Behold, the wise man profiteth himself.
3 Сән һәққаний болсаңму, Һәммигә Қадирға немә бәһрә берәләйттиң? Йоллириң әйипсиз болған тәғдирдиму, сән Униңға немә ғәниймәтләрни елип келәләйсән?
Is it a pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous; Or a gain to him, that thou walkest uprightly?
4 Униң сени әйипләйдиғанлиғи, Вә Униң саңа шикайәтләр йәткүзидиғини сениң ихласмән болғиниң үчүнму-я?
Will he contend with thee because he feareth thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
5 Сениң рәзиллигиң зор әмәсму? Сениң гуналириң һесапсиз әмәсму?
Hath not thy wickedness been great? Have not thine iniquities been numberless?
6 Сән қериндашлириңдин сәвәпсиз кепиллик алғансән; Сән ялаңтүшләрни кийим-кечәклиридин мәһрум қиливәткәнсән.
For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother unjustly, And stripped the poor of their clothing.
7 Һалсизланғанларға су бәрмидиң, Ач қалғанларға ашниму аяп бәрмидиң,
Thou hast given the weary no water to drink, And withholden bread from the hungry.
8 Гәрчә сән йәр-зиминлик болған қоли узун адәм болсаңму, Йәр-зимин тутуп һөрмәтлинип кәлгән адәм болсаңму,
But the man of power, his was the land, And the honorable man dwelt in it.
9 Сән тул хотунларниму қуруқ қол яндурғансән, Житим-йесирларниң қолиниму янҗитивәткәнсән.
Thou hast sent widows away empty, And broken the arms of the fatherless.
10 Мана шу сәвәптин әтрапиңда қапқанлар ятиду, Уштумтут пәйда болған вәһимиму сени басиду.
Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear confoundeth thee;
11 Шу сәвәптинму сени қараңғулуқ бесип көрәлмәс қилди, Бир кәлкүн келип сени ғәриқ қилди.
Or darkness, through which thou canst not see, And floods of water cover thee.
12 Тәңри әршаланиң чоққисида туриду әмәсму? Әң егиз юлтузларниң нәқәдәр алий екәнлигигә қарап бақ!
Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the stars, how high they are!
13 Бирақ сән: «Тәңри немини билиду? У раст шунчә зулмәт қараңғулуқта бир немини пәриқ етәләмду?!» дәватисән.
Hence thou sayest, “What doth God know? Can he govern behind the thick darkness?
14 Йәнә: «Қоюқ булутлар уни тосивалиду, Шуңа У пәләк үстидә айлинип маңғинида бизни көрмәйду!» — дәйсән.
Dark clouds are a veil to him, and he cannot see; And he walketh upon the arch of heaven.”
15 Яман адәмләр маңған кона йолни сәнму тутиверәмсән?
Wilt thou take the old way Which wicked men have trodden,
16 Улар вақти тошмай турупла елип кетилгән, Уларниң һуллири кәлкүн тәрипидин еқитилип кетилгән.
Who were cut down before their time, And whose foundations were swept away by a flood?
17 Улар Тәңригә: «Биздин нери бол!» Һәммигә Қадир бизни немә қилалисун?» — дәйтти.
Who said unto God, “Depart from us!” And, “What can the Almighty do to us?”
18 Бирақ уларниң өйлирини есил нәрсиләр билән толдурған дәл Униң Өзидур, Мән болсам яманларниң нәсиһитидин жирақлашқанмән!
And yet he filled their houses with good things!—Far from me be the counsel of the wicked!
19 Һәққанийлар уларниң бәрбат болғанлиғини көрүп шатлиниду; Бигуналар уларни мазақ қилип: —
The righteous see their fate, and rejoice; And the innocent hold them in derision.
20 «Бизгә қарши чиққучилар шүбһисиз вәйран болиду, От уларниң байлиқлирини жутувәтмәмду?» — дәйду.
“Truly our adversary is destroyed, And fire hath consumed his abundance!”
21 [Шуңа] Худаға бойсунуп Уни тонусаң, Шу чағдила сән аман болисән; Шуниң билән саңа амәт келиду.
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thus shall prosperity return to thee.
22 Униң ағзидин кәлгән несиһәтниму қобул қил, Униң сөзлирини көңлүңгә пүкүп қой.
Receive, I pray thee, instruction from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
23 Сән Һәммигә Қадирниң йениға қайтип кәлсәң, муқәррәрки, Қайтидин қурулуп чиқалайсән; Әгәр сән қәбиһликни чедирлириңдин жирақлаштурсаң,
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up; If thou put away iniquity from thy tent.
24 Әгәр сән алтунуңни топа-чаң үстигә ташлалисаң, Офирдики алтунуңни шиддәтлик еқинниң ташлириға қошувәтсәң,
Cast to the dust thy gold, And the gold of Ophir to the stones of the brook:
25 Ундақта Һәммигә Қадирниң Өзи саңа алтун болиду. Сениң үчүн сәрхил күмүчму болиду.
Then shall the Almighty be thy gold, Yea, treasures of silver unto thee;
26 У чағда сән Һәммигә Қадирдин сөйүнисән, Йүзүңни Тәңригә қарап көтирәләйсән.
For then shalt thou have delight in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 Сән Униңға дуа қилсаң, У қулақ салиду, Шундақла сәнму ичкән қәсәмлириңгә әмәл қилисән.
Thou shalt pray to him, and he shall hear thee, And thou shalt perform thy vows.
28 Сән қарар қилған иш әмәлгә ашиду, Йоллириң үстигә нур чүшиду.
The purpose which thou formest shall prosper with thee, And light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 Адәмләр пәс қилинғанда, сән уларға: «Орнуңлардин туруңлар!» дәйсән, Шуниң билән [Худа] чирайи сунғанларни қутқузиду.
When men are cast down, thou shalt say, “There lifting up!” And the humble person he will save.
30 У һәтта гунайи бар адәмниму қутқузиду, У қолуңдики һалаллиқтин қутқузулиду.
He will deliver even him that is not innocent. The purity of thy hands shall save him.
