ज़बूर 73
1 बेशक ख़ुदा इस्राईल पर, या'नी पाक दिलों पर मेहरबान है।
A Melody of Asaph. Nothing but good, is God, Unto Israel, Unto the pure in heart.
2 लेकिन मेरे पाँव तो फिसलने को थे, मेरे क़दम क़रीबन लग़ज़िश खा चुके थे।
But, as for me, —My feet had, almost stumbled, My steps had, well-nigh slipped;
3 क्यूँकि जब मैं शरीरों की इक़बालमंदी देखता, तो मग़रूरों पर हसद करता था।
For I was envious of the boasters, At the prosperity of the lawless, used I to look.
4 इसलिए के उनकी मौत में दर्द नहीं, बल्कि उनकी ताक़त बनी रहती है।
For they have no pangs in their death, And vigorous is their body;
5 वह और आदमियों की तरह मुसीबत में नहीं पड़ते; न और लोगों की तरह उन पर आफ़त आती है।
Of the toil of weak mortals, have they none, Nor, with the sons of earth, are they hard smitten.
6 इसलिए गु़रूर उनके गले का हार है, जैसे वह ज़ुल्म से मुलब्बस हैं।
For this cause, doth arrogance deck them as a neck-chain, And a garment of wrong is their attire;
7 उनकी आँखें चर्बी से उभरी हुई हैं, उनके दिल के ख़यालात हद से बढ़ गए हैं।
Their iniquity, hath proceeded from fatness, They have surpassed the imaginations of the heart;
8 वह ठट्ठा मारते, और शरारत से जु़ल्म की बातें करते हैं; वह बड़ा बोल बोलते हैं।
They mock, and wickedly command oppression, From on high, they command;
9 उनके मुँह आसमान पर हैं, और उनकी ज़बाने ज़मीन की सैर करती हैं।
They have set, in the heavens, their mouth, And, their tongue, marcheth through the earth.
10 इसलिए उसके लोग इस तरफ़ रुजू' होते हैं, और जी भर कर पीते हैं।
Therefore must his people return thither, And, the waters of abundance, are drained by them;
11 वह कहते हैं, “ख़ुदा को कैसे मा'लूम है? क्या हक़ ता'ला को कुछ 'इल्म है?”
And they say—How doth GOD know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 इन शरीरों को देखो, यह हमेशा चैन से रहते हुए दौलत बढ़ाते हैं।
Lo! these, are the lawless, Who are secure for an age, They have attained unto wealth.
13 यक़ीनन मैने बेकार अपने दिल को साफ़, और अपने हाथों को पाक किया;
Altogether in vain, Have I cleansed my heart, And bathed in pureness, my hands;
14 क्यूँकि मुझ पर दिन भर आफ़त रहती है, और मैं हर सुबह तम्बीह पाता हूँ।
And yet been smitten all the day, And been rebuked morning by morning!
15 अगर मैं कहता, कि यूँ कहूँगा; तो तेरे फ़र्ज़न्दों की नसल से बेवफ़ाई करता।
If I had thought, I will relate it thus, Lo! the circle of thy sons, had I betrayed.
16 जब मैं सोचने लगा कि इसे कैसे समझूँ, तो यह मेरी नज़र में दुश्वार था,
When I reasoned, that I might understand this, A vexation, it was in mine eyes:
17 जब तक कि मैंने ख़ुदा के मक़दिस में जाकर, उनके अंजाम को न सोचा।
Until I could enter the holy places of God, —Could give heed to their hereafter: —
18 यक़ीनन तू उनको फिसलनी जगहों में रखता है, और हलाकत की तरफ़ ढकेल देता है।
Surely, in slippery places, dost thou set them, —Thou hast suffered them to fall into places of danger.
19 वह दम भर में कैसे उजड़ गए! वह हादिसों से बिल्कुल फ़ना हो गए।
How have they become desolate, as in a moment! They have ceased—come to an end, by reason of calamities.
20 जैसे जाग उठने वाला ख़्वाब को, वैसे ही तू ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, जाग कर उनकी सूरत को नाचीज़ जानेगा।
As the dream of him that waketh, O my Lord! when rousing thyself up, their shadowy being, wilt thou despise.
21 क्यूँकि मेरा दिल रंजीदा हुआ, और मेरा जिगर छिद गया था;
But my heart had grown embittered, And, in my reins, had I received wounds;
22 मैं बे'अक्ल और जाहिल था, मैं तेरे सामने जानवर की तरह था।
But, I, was brutish, and could not perceive, Like the beasts, had I become before thee.
23 तोभी मैं बराबर तेरे साथ हूँ। तूने मेरा दाहिना हाथ पकड़ रखा है।
Nevertheless, I, am continually before thee, Thou hast taken hold of my right hand;
24 तू अपनी मसलहत से मेरी रहनुमाई करेगा, और आख़िरकार मुझे जलाल में कु़बूल फ़रमाएगा।
By thy counsel, wilt thou guide me, And, afterwards, unto glory, wilt thou take me.
25 आसमान पर तेरे अलावा मेरा कौन है? और ज़मीन पर मैं तेरे अलावा किसी का मुश्ताक़ नहीं।
Whom have I in the heavens? And, compared with thee, there is nothing I desire on earth.
26 जैसे मेरा जिस्म और मेरा दिल ज़ाइल हो जाएँ, तोभी ख़ुदा हमेशा मेरे दिल की ताक़त और मेरा हिस्सा है।
Failed have my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heart—and my portion, is God unto times age-abiding.
27 क्यूँकि देख, वह जो तुझ से दूर हैं फ़ना हो जाएँगे; तूने उन सबको जिन्होंने तुझ से बेवफ़ाई की, हलाक कर दिया है।
For lo! they who are far from thee, shall perish, Thou hast put an end to every one who wandered unchastely from thee.
28 लेकिन मेरे लिए यही भला है कि ख़ुदा की नज़दीकी हासिल करूँ; मैंने ख़ुदावन्द ख़ुदा को अपनी पनाहगाह बना लिया है ताकि तेरे सब कामों का बयान करूँ।
But, as for me, the drawing near of God, is my blessedness, —I have made, of My Lord Yahweh, my refuge, —That I may recount all thy works.
