< ज़बूर 49 >

1 ऐ सब उम्मतो, यह सुनो। ऐ जहान के सब बाशिन्दो, कान लगाओ!
To the Overseer. — By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples, Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world.
2 क्या अदना क्या आ'ला, क्या अमीर क्या फ़कीर।
Both low and high, together rich and needy.
3 मेरे मुँह से हिकमत की बातें निकलेंगी, और मेरे दिल का ख़याल पुर ख़िरद होगा।
My mouth speaketh wise things, And the meditations of my heart [are] things of understanding.
4 मैं तम्सील की तरफ़ कान लगाऊँगा, मैं अपना राज़ सितार पर बयान करूँगा।
I incline to a simile mine ear, I open with a harp my riddle:
5 मैं मुसीबत के दिनों में क्यूँ डरूं, जब मेरा पीछा करने वाली बदी मुझे घेरे हो?
Why do I fear in days of evil? The iniquity of my supplanters doth compass me.
6 जो अपनी दौलत पर भरोसा रखते, और अपने माल की कसरत पर फ़ख़्र करते हैं;
Those trusting on their wealth, And in the multitude of their riches, Do shew themselves foolish.
7 उनमें से कोई किसी तरह अपने भाई का फ़िदिया नहीं दे सकता, न ख़ुदा को उसका मु'आवज़ा दे सकता है।
A brother doth no one at all ransom, He doth not give to God his atonement.
8 क्यूँकि उनकी जान का फ़िदिया बेश क़ीमत है; वह हमेशा तक अदा न होगा।
And precious [is] the redemption of their soul, And it hath ceased — to the age.
9 ताकि वह हमेशा तक ज़िन्दा रहे और क़ब्र को न देखे।
And still he liveth for ever, He seeth not the pit.
10 क्यूँकि वह देखता है, कि दानिशमंद मर जाते हैं, बेवकू़फ़ व हैवान ख़सलत एक साथ हलाक होते हैं, और अपनी दौलत औरों के लिए छोड़ जाते हैं।
For he seeth wise men die, Together the foolish and brutish perish, And have left to others their wealth.
11 उनका दिली ख़याल यह है कि उनके घर हमेशा तक, और उनके घर नसल दर नसल बने रहेंगे; वह अपनी ज़मीन अपने ही नाम नामज़द करते हैं।
Their heart [is]: Their houses [are] to the age, Their tabernacles to all generations. They proclaimed their names over the lands.
12 पर इंसान इज़्ज़त की हालत में क़ाईम नहीं रहता वह जानवरों की तरह है, जो फ़ना हो, जाते हैं।
And man in honour doth not remain, He hath been like the beasts, they have been cut off.
13 उनकी यह चाल उनकी बेवक़ूफ़ी है, तोभी उनके बाद लोग उनकी बातों को पसंद करते हैं। (सिलाह)
This their way [is] folly for them, And their posterity with their sayings are pleased. (Selah)
14 वह जैसे पाताल का रेवड़ ठहराए गए हैं; मौत उनकी पासबान होगी; दियानतदार सुबह को उन पर मुसल्लत होगा, और उनका हुस्न पाताल का लुक़्मा होकर बेठिकाना होगा। (Sheol h7585)
As sheep for Sheol they have set themselves, Death doth afflict them, And the upright rule over them in the morning, And their form [is] for consumption. Sheol [is] a dwelling for him. (Sheol h7585)
15 लेकिन ख़ुदा मेरी जान को पाताल के इख़्तियार से छुड़ा लेगा, क्यूँकि वही मुझे कु़बूल करेगा। (सिलाह) (Sheol h7585)
Only, God doth ransom my soul from the hand of Sheol, For He doth receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 जब कोई मालदार हो जाए जब उसके घर की हश्मत बढ़े, तो तू ख़ौफ़ न कर।
Fear not, when one maketh wealth, When the honour of his house is abundant,
17 क्यूँकि वह मरकर कुछ साथ न ले जाएगा; उसकी हश्मत उसके साथ न जाएगी।
For at his death he receiveth nothing, His honour goeth not down after him.
18 चाहे जीते जी वह अपनी जान को मुबारक कहता रहा हो और जब तू अपना भला करता है तो लोग तेरी तारीफ़ करते हैं
For his soul in his life he blesseth, (And they praise thee when thou dost well for thyself.)
19 तोभी वह अपने बाप दादा की गिरोह से जा मिलेगा, वह रोशनी को हरगिज़ न देखेंगे।
It cometh to the generation of his fathers, For ever they see not the light.
20 आदमी जो 'इज़्ज़त की हालत में रहता है, लेकिन 'अक़्ल नहीं रखता जानवरों की तरह है, जो फ़ना हो जाते हैं।
Man in honour, who understandest not, Hath been like the beasts, they have been cut off!
